Had my hair transplant 3 weeks ago now but I thought I'd create a thread for my progress.

I ended up getting 3300 for the front and and 1729 for the crown.

I haven't been keeping close tabs as I don't really use social media too much but I'll update this thread as I go along...

You already had a good deal of hair, so after this, it’s gonna look amazing. Happy growing 🙌🏼

Haven't posted because there's been not much going on but thought it's time for an update. Went through the shedding phase without any problems Lost all the transplanted hair after a month or so. I didn't mention this before but sleep was a bitch the first week so make sure you buy a good neck pillow, not one of those shitty airplane ones. On another note I'm really happy I'm still working from home due the covid situation as I don't think I could have done this at any other time. I still look like shit after 3+ months... I've got so much respect for people that just rock it and don't care what anyone thinks. I'm sitting at home avoiding videos on my Teams/Zoom meetings and its worked out so far.

Now I'm pretty much at the 'I've made a mistake' phase and worried that this is a failure. I think this feeling is normal and I've read about a lot of other people going through it. It's much different when it's you tho 🙃. Not as easy to reply 'trust the process' when you think you're one of the 1% or so who's going to have a failed transplant.

My pale skin also doesn't help and my head is still red. Aloe Vera helped initially to reduce it but doesn't seem to have any affect anymore. I think it's going to take a while for the redness/scarring to go down for me.

I am now finally seeing some hairs poking through, not as much as I would like but over the last week or so it's definitely noticeable. You can see the tufts of hair popping up especially on the left side.

A not very good closeup which shows the scarring still. Bit blurry.

My crown is still red as well. Running my fingers over it I can feel little hairs coming through now. Sorry my camera isn't better still using an iphone 8.

So I had this done March 4th and 5th so I'm looking at 3 months and 6 days progress at the moment. It seems like I'm not a fast grower but looking at other peoples results months 3 and 4 I should start seeing some progress. Here's hoping!

Hey you're only at 12 weeks! It's called buyer's remorse and it's normal and part of everyone's hair transplant to differing degrees. I love the hairline design! You went to one of the best hair transplant clinics in the world! You are about to turn the corner. All the best and I look forward to your updates! Thanks for sharing!

I realize that nothing anyone can say can make you feel better, but I just want you to know, I’m roughly 10 weeks out from my own surgery and am having very similar thoughts to you.

If someone could invent a surgery where the hair didn’t shed after implantation, they would be the richest person in the world, because the hardest part is waiting and wondering “what if?”

The good news is, not only are you still early, but you definitely seem to have some hair sprouting! Not only that, but you went to arguably the best clinic in the entire world, one that I believe will support you, and stand behind their work. You set your self up for the absolute best chance to succeed. I hope you at least find some comfort in that.

I’m 3 surgeries in, and believe me, the hardest part is always the second guessing and having the patience to let the process run its course.

Try your best to hang in there and keep us posted.

This is going to be awesome... looking forward to seeing it come in over the  next few weeks.

Was this a two day procedure to get to over 5,000 grafts?

Yep this was a full 2 days. Like getting in at 7am and leaving late - like 9 or 10 at night. Staff were great through the whole process and very patient. I was still able to drive home after both sessions so it was all good. I think I watched most of Parks & Rec TV show during the process on netflix.

So I'm now at 3 months, 25 days.

I can definitely see a change now. One thing that worries me is that after this first 'burst' of hairs that have come through I can't see any new hairs coming out. Is this normal? Does this whole shebang go in stages? I'm happy with the progress so far but would feel better if I could see some new hairs poking through. I can't see any at the moment.

Scalp is still red but that's all good. I kind of expect it with my light skin. Wearing the same hat hasson & wong gave me when I got the procedure around everywhere to both keep the sun off and hide my head.

Crown still looks the same so I won't post a photo but still feel the mini hairs 'roughness' when I run my hand over it + getting a few pimples and bumps there which I'm hoping is new hairs.

@1giantleapforhairThis is seriously impressive for such a early stage ! A lot of people don’t have any growth before month 4. Yours will continue to come in, but yes to will appear to grow In different stages. Quite normal for one side to come in more than the other. And also for the crown to lag behind by a few months. Dr Hasson is a fantastic choice 👏

Any immediate post op pics of the crown? curious to see how 1,700 grafts looks in that area

2,000 grafts FUT Dr. Feller, July 27th 2012. 23 years old at the time. Excellent result. Need crown sorted eventually but concealer works well for now.

Propecia and minoxidil since 2010. Fine for 8 years - bad sides after switching to Aindeem in 2018.

Switched to topical fin/minox combo from Minoxidil Max in October 2020, along with dermarolling 1x a week.

Wrote a book for newbies called Beating Hair Loss, available on Amazon

Hey all been a while so I thought I'd add another update.

Just keeping on keeping on and not thinking about my hair too much and letting it do its thing. I've got to the point now where the redness has subsided and I don't mind going out the front door without my hat (although I usually do if there's sun out - not meant to get sunburnt according to the docs).

So according to my dodgy maths it's been 5 months and 23 days since my operation. Things are going smoothly. The front is growing out, the crown is still trying its best but is really slow. The lack of blood flow to the crown is apparently why it takes a long time compared to the rest of the head.

Not entirely happy with the thickness but it's still early days.
