Day 324 / Week 46 / Month 10.65?

Got a haircut today, thought I would share some pictures.

Please note I have styled my hair with volumizing powder - which gives the appearance of better density, and the lighting isn't as harsh as in my previous pictures. The crown is certainly a bit thinner than it appears here, but this is what you can get away with if you have decent enough density and style it appropriately. I will likely still avoid harsh elevator and bathroom lighting at all costs. 😅

An important thing to note here, if you have fine hair (like me) length control is critical. Too short and you don't have enough coverage, too long and the hair is difficult to style / lies flat with no body.

Sides are cut down to a #2. I think this is a bit too short - in direct light, the donor site is visible to those in the "know", which doesn't bother me all that much anymore.

It's really funny going to a random barber and watching for their reaction as they realize the transplant. I have had three separate barbers all say they couldn't believe how natural the hair line looked - I think this is a combo of a good surgery and fine hair making the actual implanted hairs less obvious.

Hi Everyone,

I thought I would add this observation as I haven't seen anyone mention this.

Below is a picture of one of my hairs. (I have sacrificed to give back to this forum. 😭)

Interestingly the tip (oldest part of the hair) is really thick, it then thins out, and thickens back towards the end (newest part).

Visually I can see this on a few of the hairs on my head, but not all. I assume that the non-uniform thickness implies that this is a graft that never shed. (which is why not all of my hair is like this)

I assume the thinness in the middle of the hair is due to the follicle having gone through some stress over the first few weeks post op.

Has anyone else seen this before?

A lot of my hairs look like this

Not much change from the above... but here are the one year results.

Overall I am very happy with the result.

I know I will need more work down the line to maintain / fill out the midscalp and crown... but I can honestly say the social anxiety of losing my hair / balding has significantly reduced.

Pictures below, please feel free to ask any questions.

Fresh cut - zero product.
