Senior Member Marvin Posted September 27, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted September 27, 2009 Can cricket players take finasteride? I'm told that many athletes cannot take it because it would show up as an performance-enhancing drug after a drug test.
Senior Member Severn Posted September 27, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted September 27, 2009 It looks like he had a great result! I do have a question about his right side in pic 15/16. It looks like there is a nickel sized hole above his ear where hair isn't growing. Did he experience some permanent shockloss in that area from the strip removal? Thanks ahead of time. Senior Member hair_care Posted September 27, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted September 27, 2009 I don't think they drug test cricket players. However, he looks great. My Hair Loss Website - Hair Transplant with Dr. Feller

Senior Member Dr. Mohammad Humayun Mohma Posted September 28, 2009 Author Senior Member Share Posted September 28, 2009 Well As I was not there to take the pictures and he took them for me to post on this forum so I cannot answer if there is a permanent shock loss or a stretch scar at one end. I did notice that as well and I could have easily avoided that picture for my own advantage, but I think that would have been equilent to cheating as well. I try to give you the best and most honest results to cover all aspects of hair transplant. After all some one can go through that as well. All that glitter is not gold. Though he has not told me any of those problem and it coud be just a styling error. As I do not know the actual answer, i will refrain from the comments. The other querry with respect to finastride, no He is not on that and most of my patients do not use any type of medical options with hair transplant. --- I am a medical advisor to Lexington International and Hairmax. Senior Member phxind Posted September 28, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted September 28, 2009 Wow, great. First of all, I appreciate him for coming forward like this. Being in the public eye and being so open about a HT can never be easy. Dave78, Sehwag has had a HT as well and is looking great these days. So has Harsha Bhogle, the commentator and Shane Warne. Finally got to say this - with or without hair, Indian batsmen are going to hit him all over the park for runs! ------------------------------------------------------------ My Hair Loss Website - Hair Transplant with Dr. Alexander
Senior Member TC17 Posted September 28, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted September 28, 2009 Very impressive result Dr. Mohmand. I am sure that this patient, like many of yours, benefits from having a thicker hair, but isn't that also a double edged sword? Isn't it harder to make a hairline appear soft and natural with thick, coarse hair? Since this patient isn't on any meds, what if he progresses to a NW 6, 6.5, or 7? I looked him up and he is only 31 years old. Does he have sufficient donor to keep up if necessary? Again, great result Doc!

Senior Member Dr. Mohammad Humayun Mohma Posted September 30, 2009 Author Senior Member Share Posted September 30, 2009 Dear TC YES, the thicker hair follicles are a double edge sword. In order to keep the looks very natural, you have to be very slective in the follicles that you are gonna transplant in the very front. This is where you have to use the angle of curvature that I highlighted in ISHRS back in 2005 and got the best technique award for that in 2006 in San Diego. Also you might have to use some follicles from certain area of scalp which are softer. At the end its all about how you see things and your artistery. But if you know the problem you can solve it, if you do not know the problem you cannot address that at all. --- I am a medical advisor to Lexington International and Hairmax. Senior Member Forrest Gump Posted September 30, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted September 30, 2009 Dr Mohmand, impressive results! You should open up an office in Dubai or somewhere similar. That way, several western-country patients who might have apprehensions about traveling to Pakistan, but comfortable in visiting a place like Dubai, will be able to consult you. Senior Member Dr. Mohammad Humayun Mohma Posted October 4, 2009 Author Senior Member Share Posted October 4, 2009 exactly the point ZAZ he had 6700 grafts in two session and trust me his first surgery which was about 4200 was not really that great either, it was good as still it was 4200 but he needs another 1500 to 2000 to really finish the job. coming back to your case you just had 3000 and your baldness was more than rana's so you need more grafts to have same result. I can assure you that the day you will have anything around 7000 grafts you would look really great but have to give the time. thank you for your support. i am always there for my patients. --- I am a medical advisor to Lexington International and Hairmax. Senior Member splitting hairs Posted October 5, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted October 5, 2009 Dr Mohmand, with a lot of your work being on local people from pakistan and india, do you feel that they have any hair characteristics that make a hair transplant better or worse. For example, thicker hair?? I am asking as although I am from the UK, my family is of indian origin. _________________________________________________ Propecia since July 2008 2201 Grafts with Dr Lorenzo on 19.10.22 - See my write up here:
Senior Member Dr. Mohammad Humayun Mohma Posted October 12, 2009 Author Senior Member Share Posted October 12, 2009 well if the hair is thick then it has an advantage of looking dense with relatively less hair but it can look severly unnatural if they are not taken care of. So its a double edge sword Al I have to say istalk t the doctor and see how he would address your concerns. His way of giving you the solutions would tell you if he has the understanding of hair transplat o not --- I am a medical advisor to Lexington International and Hairmax. Raphael84
Interesting case! Good to see somebody in the public eye being so open about his work. However, after such a succesful result and huge change in appearance, it would not have been possible to hide. Congratulations to Dr Humaun Mohmand. Great result. Both the patient and yourself must be very pleased. Would your plan differ on a patient of different race. For an example, a white western patient. With a different hair type and generally much lighter skin. Obviously this would potentially contrast more against their hair colour. Would this be a much different approach by yourself, or is this not really necessary. Very impressed with your work Dr, and its always good to see an elite coalition Dr very active here on the forums!
