Fun thread & ultimately informative for all involved. Just goes to show you that even a guy w/minimal thinning and a perfectly natural mature hairline w/no family hairloss is just as neurotic as we all are about our hair.

Imagine if we could all just accept hair loss - keep it short and tidy and move forward and realize it is all in our genetics and in the end it doesn't really matter!

Nah - that ain't gonna' happen. Hairloss has bothered adult men since probably caveman days.

YeS quidproquo.. I’m hopin propecia will stabilize my hair .. so I can get a hair transplant next year .. I still want more volume in my hair .. I’ve seen some good results of transplants .. But also seen some risks n disappointments too .. so I just wait it out .. the longer I can prolong a hair transplant the better chance I won’t have to get another.. it’s a lot of money to spend .. but worth it if done right .

Well tomorrow I was suppose to drive the 6 hour trip to Los Angeles Beverly Hills to do my transplant with doctor baubac .. but since it’s canceled I’m bummed out .. I probably will go n get a hair transplant consultation in a few months with dr diep instead .. since he’s only a 2.5 hour drive from me .. I really just want a miniaturization test and see my actual Norwood n my potential Norwood later on .. if I like what I hear n my balding isn’t too progressive I just might spend the money n get it done there with diep.. even though he’s expensive . if not I probably go with doctor Nader n bite the bullet and take an airplane trip to Mexico to save money ..

I’m not sure why they wouldn’t operate on me .. all I wanted to restore my hairline it’s not a big procedure .. n I don’t really care about the vellus hairs on my hairline currently .. it’s not dense or strong .. I can’t comb it .. my hair looks so flat now ..

check out the pics .. do u guys think that the doctors can improve my hairline ? It’s not a lot of grafts but heck it will do a lot for my hair .. it will give it volume again ..

I really don’t know what happened ,, even last year I was a Norwood 1 .. all of a sudden I’m a Norwood 2 with A lot of thinning on top .. I can blame it on my health .. drinking n smoking everyday n not eating right .. n always dyeing my hair .. I’m sad ..

My family doesn’t have a history of MPB .. my oldest brother is a Norwood 1 with a lot of hair and so are my other brothers ..

First 2 pic is what I want to shave off on the hairline n transplant thicker hair into it .. do u guys think this is possible ? I’ve seen plenty of examples on here where people transplant hair into their native hair without much shockloss..

3rd pic is my youngest brother.. he’s 31 years old . I’m so jealous look at how much hair he has .. im 38 .. wtf happened to me, my hairloss got so progressive only this year .. I was a Norwood 1 just last year

Usually I am not that outspoken, but:

Get your things together. You have the best hair in the entire forum and there are people halve your age (literally) with much worse hair. I know (hair)problems are relative but show some grace. Your hair ist not like it was at 15 but still great.

The only right thing to do is continue the meds (like anyone suggested) and wait for a full year. Then (if still nessesary) you can go to a top clinic who is specialised for FUE in hairlines. In the meantime, forget about it.

U r right .. i agree with most of u .. if it wasn’t for my kaiser dermatologist I went to see 6 months ago to get a prescription of finasteride .. who said I was going to b bald like mr burns.. I wouldn’t be stressing so much about my hair and willing to spend thousands on my hair if it wasn’t for what he said //!I was like really ? Is it that bad ? Well he’s young n not a hair specialist so I’m hoping he’s wrong .. my hair is thinning no doubt .. but I’m hoping that since I’m already 38 with no known history of MPB n my hair loss n recession is minimal .: that I can make it to 50 .. with decent hair .. but I don’t mind getting a transplant to thicken up my hairline n If need be a 2nd transplant to midscalp later in life .. rather than having bad hair for the next ten years .. so I’m still undecided , I’m okay with how I look now, but I rather feel good about how I look n for the next few years .. but I don’t want to risk getting a bad transplant n making things in worse n spending thousands of hard earned money .. I just want to see a Good doctor that cares about their patient n give me a full evaluation . A miniaturzation check . So we can have a plan for the future.. around my city .. its Med spas n stuff .. that just want ur money.. I feel better bout my hair lately though .. been doing the side combover :: it’s not a great look but it provides coverage .. so I’m trying to age gracefully .. thanks for ur guys n thoughts n opinions .: I know most people on this forum have it worse than me .. so I can really do wish everyone have a great 2018.. n best wishes to ya .

I don't understand why you can't just go out and get a miniaturization check if that will make you feel better. You don't have to agree to have a hair transplant to get one. Frankly, you probably don't even have to to pay anything for a consultation where they'll give you a free check. I kind of don't understand what the dilemma is about.

You're going to have to expend a little effort in google searching, bruh.

When u in the beginning of ur hair loss .. it’s the most difficult time .. just cuz my hair loss hAppended to me later in life and not as dramatic as urs don’t mean it’s any less devastating .. but I’m more knowledgeable now... propecia seems to be working .. n if that fails there’s the hair transplant .. option.

Until then I just have more money in the bank , a good job N a pretty girlfriend .. but with less hair.. I can’t complain too much .. have a good 2018.
