MM74
Dear fellows, I would like to do an 3500 or 4000 FUE during a 6 hour session in Istanbul (hair medico Dr Arslan). What do you think of this operation and hospital? Thank you.
Senior Member BadBeat Posted June 25, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted June 25, 2015 I think that's way too many FUE grafts in that short of a time frame.

Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted June 25, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted June 25, 2015 That seems really, really, really fast. Agree with above. FUE grafts are very fragile and prone to injury during the extraction process, even when handled with the utmost case. I would be very concerned about the health of grafts removed in this short period of time AND the quality of the donor afterwards. Senior Member pkipling Posted June 25, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted June 25, 2015 This doesn't seem like enough time at all. Any particular reason why you want to have the procedure so rushed? Getting a hair transplant is a big commitment, so if you're going to do it, you might as well take your time and do it right. This should most definitely be spread out over the course of a couple of days. I'm curious - Is this something the doctor is even saying is possible for him to do for you? I am a patient advocate for Dr. Parsa Mohebi in Los Angeles, CA. My views/opinions are my own and don't necessarily reflect the opinions of Dr. Mohebi and his staff. Pete-from-Farjo
3500 grafts by FUE should be a two day job, not six hours. You've got the rest of your life to regret a rash decision. Do more research and don't rush into it. Senior Member Shera Posted June 26, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted June 26, 2015 I had 3305, but it took about 12 hours from start to finish, 6 hours does seem a bit rushed, did the doctor have a hot date to attend to?
Senior Member Sparky Posted June 27, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted June 27, 2015 12 hours is a bit hardcore aswell. My Hairloss Website http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=2198
Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted June 27, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted June 27, 2015 Spark, I agree. This is even fast for 12. 3,500 is best split into 2 days (at least). I think 1,500 - 2,000 a day should be about the max for FUE. This is the best way to really reduce damage during "out of body time" and to ensure grafts are very carefully extracted. Senior Member Shera Posted June 28, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted June 28, 2015 I suppose it really depends on the doctor, his staff and the patient on how long a procedure can be. In my case, I could have carried on for a few more hours, my doctor and his staff were alert and fully focused throughout the 12 hour procedure and my results speak for themselves. Obviously this will not be the case in many HT Centers around the world, I do see where you guys are coming from. However to do a 3500 graft procedure in 6 hours, seems a bit too manic to me. ______________________________________________________________ Dr Bhatti FUE Oct 2014 3305 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html

Senior Member Shera Posted June 29, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted June 29, 2015 Thanks Sparky, I think you'd be mad not to consider Dr Bhatti if you going down the FUE route. __________________________________________________ ____________ Dr Bhatti FUE Oct 2014 3305 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html
Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted June 29, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted June 29, 2015 Shera, It's not as much the doctor and his team. Obviously the doctors we recommended here are very dedicated and will push themselves for their patients! It's more about reducing grafts out of body time and making sure no one feels rushed while scoring and delivering grafts. This is why I think the 1,500ish level is ideal. Senior Member California Posted June 29, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted June 29, 2015 Dr. Bhatti routinely performs up to 3500 graft FUE procedures in one day. For procedures over 3500 grafts, he likes to split the procedure over two consecutive days. His staff (all registered nurses) is very well trained and highly experienced. As Shera has right said, it all depends upon the alertness, focus and the expertise of the Team that is performing the procedure. Results.....take a look at Shera's pics:) That said, going back to the original post in this thread.....6 hours sounds way too short. Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted June 29, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted June 29, 2015 Cali, Are there multiple people extracting at once? Who performs the extractions? If there were multiple people extracting -- meaning one took 1,500 and the other took 1,500 -- this would reduce out of body time and still keep extractions focused. Hi Blake, No, all the extractions are done by Dr. Bhatti himself. He also makes all the slits in the donor areas himself. His staff is involved only in placing the grafts in the slits created by Dr. Bhatt in the donor areas. The way he has structured the process is that he would extract/harvest a certain amount of grafts and then those grafts would get planted. Later in the day, he would extract the rest of the grafts and those would get planted towards the end of the day. Even though he is the only HT Surgeon in the Clinic, he has a huge facility with 4 OT's. Patients get moved from one OT to another depending upon whether the harvesting or planting is taking place. What do you think of this operation and hospital? Thank you. Bad Praxis of ISHRS Doctor Arslan Musbeh I had a surgery with Dr. ARSLAN MUSBEH, based in Istanbul 11 months ago. None of the 1600 grafts allegedly implanted in my crown area grew, from the other 1000 grafts transplanted on my front line only grew around 300 making it look really fake, and my existing healthy hair on my crown has been killed during the implants. After 11 months the clinic blocked me on WhatsApp and I have no way to contact them. I have a guarantee and want it to be respected. This is an ISHRS doctor and I need your help. This is the email I sent to Hairmedico, Dr Arslan Musbeh company, which he never replied: Dr. Arslan, you promised me that the implants would work and they never grew on my crown. The clinic kept saying me it will grow after month 6 first, then that it would grow by month 8, then month 10... And never grew. Please if you are a man of principles, respect my guarantee and offer me to redo the surgery at your expense and pay my flight one way at least, or return the money. The evidence is attached, photos every month and conversation on WhatsApp with Asma from Hairmedico, secretary of Dr. Arslan Musbeh The case: I had one technician doing the crown and a other one on my front. The technician doing my crown looked very nervous and new to the job. First he was learning from Dr. Arslan looking when he was removing my follicles from the donor area. And then he was trying to learn from the second technician when he was doing the implants. The difference between both was that the new technician was not fitting the follicles into the holes properly, he was very new, very nervous and was not pushing them into the holes like the other more experimented technician was doing. As soon as the surgery ended I told to Dr. Arslan exactly what happened, and I also mentioned that I was not seeing as many implants on my crown as he promised. He said 1000 for the front and 1600 on the crown. He answered saying that everything was ok. Just to convince me and leave. The next day I told the same to Asma by WhatsApp. All the conversation is attached, which can be used as evidence of the truth. Asma again said that I shouldn't worry, and that's how they started hidding the truth: the technician didn't fit the follicles properly in the crown. 2 days after, the same technician washed my hair and that was when the follicles fall off my crown. It's been 11 months now, my front line looks very fake as there is a lot of space between grafts, and obviously the hair of the crown never grew. I kept telling Asma this every single month and during all the conversation on WhatsApp she says that needs more time, although she refuses to show me photos of patients after month 10 as by now they should have started to grow. I'm in contact with another patient from Dr. Arslan and his hair grew by month 6, like in almost every case. All I'm asking is a fair solution. I have a guarantee and I believe Dr. Arslan is a man of principles and will offer to get my surgery redone and pay for my flight to come to his clinic in Istanbul or return my money and a compensation for all the follicles lost on the procedure. Kind Regards Franco
