It's tempting to throw in another 2-300 behind the hairline but not essentially and not even worth thinking about with the travel restrictions. Not sure how may grafts. Probably 2000 FUE only, 3000 with a FUT and FUE. Something like that. Got it, thanks! one last question, and then I’ll stop badgering you lol why did you switch to FUE for your 2nd procedure rather than “stripping out”? Given that you already had the FUT scar, and doing another FUT again before crossing over to FUE would likely have given you a more lifetime grafts. It obviously turned out great regardless. Very interesting long-term journey, thanks for sharing.

Given that you already had the FUT scar, and doing another FUT again before crossing over to FUE would likely have given you a more lifetime grafts. A number of factors: The FUT I had was big. About 2.7cm at it's widest point. The scar might not be as good second time around. I'm not losing hair at a rapid rate (virtually no further loss in 8 years), so not worth risking a bigger scar for HT2, which was orginally meant to be only 700 grafts. I didn't want to deal with the long recovery time, being more active in the gym etc. HT2 grew so well, my follicles clearly handle FUE without a problem, so used it again for HT3. I can still have another FUT if needed, but might be more risky if another 1000+ FUE is taken (difficult to hide the scar with short hair) I could still cut my losses somewhat in the future, by filling in the narrow scar with FUE and being able to buzz to a grade 2 or 3. Had I been losing ground and needed 1500+ for HT2, I'd probably have gone FUT.
