Senior Member Cant decide Posted May 1, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted May 1, 2013 What is the best crown result that you have ever seen on here? Links to your vote would be great. By the way, I dont consider 3000 grafts jammed in a thin crown of 50 sq cm as being within the scope of this voting since that kind of crown density is not the norm My Hairloss Web Site - Procedure #1: 5229 Grafts with Dr. Rahal Oct, 2010 Procedure #2: 2642 Grafts with Dr. Rahal Aug, 2013 7871 Grafts http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=2452

Senior Member Davis91 Posted May 1, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted May 1, 2013 That is a realistic result. Very good hair quality and still some see through scalp. So indeed, an excellent example based on not too much dense packing.

Senior Member chrisdav Posted May 1, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted May 1, 2013 Both impressive. 2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK. Senior Member TommyLucchese Posted May 1, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted May 1, 2013 Both are very nice! I'd be delighted with those results. Why are crowns considered the "black hole". I have a thin area on the crown, not sure if it's getting worse or not......under bright lights (yeah, I know...) it looks like the BEFORE crown in the first result posted here. Dr. Feller said he wouldn't touch my crown due to potential permanent shock loss (I think). What is it about these 2 cases that made the doc's willing to do the surgery? I've since been under the impression that you should only do the crown if already at a very high level of hair loss? I was worried about my hair line for so long that now the HT is growing in, the crown is on my mind a bit more. Sorry to derail the thread...........keep the results coming! 2,000 grafts FUT Dr. Feller, July 27th 2012. 23 years old at the time. Excellent result. Need crown sorted eventually but concealer works well for now. Propecia and minoxidil since 2010. Fine for 8 years - bad sides after switching to Aindeem in 2018. Switched to topical fin/minox combo from Minoxidil Max in October 2020, along with dermarolling 1x a week. Senior Member chrisdav Posted May 1, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted May 1, 2013 From what I have read, most surgeons will not touch crowns until you are of acceptable age. 2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK. Senior Member TommyLucchese Posted May 1, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted May 1, 2013 How old is acceptable for the crown? 2,000 grafts FUT Dr. Feller, July 27th 2012. 23 years old at the time. Senior Member chrisdav Posted May 1, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted May 1, 2013 I know surgeons opinions differ on what is a suitable age to perform surgery. However, crown work does appear to be at an upper age end of their scale. I don't know the exact reason being, but it is likely to be down to more risk as the patient ages and some feel the cosmetic gain from frontal/mid-section restoration is more valued. Maybe a Dr/clinic representaive can chime in. 2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK. Senior Member Shampoo Posted May 1, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted May 1, 2013 (edited) Can't decide...here is one more example of a Dr. Wong patient. Before I had my surgery I met this guy for dinner here in Dallas. Once I saw his before/after pics... then saw in person his one session outstanding result.... Hasson/Wong became a no-brainer decision for me. Senior Member Spanker Posted May 1, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted May 1, 2013 There is one doctor (I think that it was Dr. Bernstein, but I am not sure), said that he thinks 45 or older is the best age to get crown work done. I don't know about that, but I would agree that the older you are the safer you are.
