I use Choi Hair Transplanter / implanter Pen technique. With this technique, I use small pen needles which has 6-7-8mm diameters for planting grafts into recipient sites. After the surgery, patient's recovery is faster and the result is natural. To extract the grafts from the donor area, we use small blade called micro-motor, it has 0.7-0.8 mm diameter and does not harm donor hairs' roots. Senior Member stinger99 Posted December 22, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted December 22, 2012 Hello Dr. Doganay, great result. what is the most amount of grafts you can do in one day fue session? what is the tool called to extract the grafts? it is a motorized punch right? is 0.8mm big enough to extract the 3 hair grafts'/
Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted December 23, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted December 23, 2012 Dr. Doganay, Great results! Thank you for sharing. Quick question: do you have the technicians trim the grafts after extraction? They looked very clean in the images displayed, but I didn't know if this was from trimming or using such a narrow punch. Senior Member Dr. Hakan DOGANAY Posted December 30, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted December 30, 2012 (edited) Hi All, Thanks for your comments. @stinger99! The maximum number of grafts we can do in one day depend on the patient. But normally 2000 grafts. To extract the grafts from the donor area, we use small blade called micro-motor, it has 0.7-0.8 mm diameter and does not harm donor hairs' roots. It is enough for extraction. @Future_HT_Doc! After extraction, 3 nurses clean and save the grafts in sterilized cubs as you see in the pictures. We keep the cubs in a refregerator during the operation. The nurses put the grafts into needles and Dr.Hakan DOGANAY plants the graft with the help of needles. Regular Member jameslondon Posted March 12, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted March 12, 2013 Firstly, what an amazing result! Very natural looking and it appears dense. My questions are: 1) why are the pen needles a much wider diameter than the micro blades? 2) was the recipient expecting such a result? was he worried at all about shock loss for example? 3) where was the donor beard hair taken from? he appears to have a low beard in the photographs, so can i assume that you took beard hair from higher up on the face? Apologies for all the questions! Am very interested in what you are doing, thank you

Senior Member HARIRI Posted July 15, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted July 15, 2013 Dr. Hakan, many says that lateral slit technique by custom blades gives fuller result because of the inclined angel of the graft which will require less grafts for a good result as it creates extra illusion. How about your technique? How can you give a full result with using Choi implanter? I heard that with it the grafts could only be vertical which is somehow similar to sagittal slit technique. Do you have any special technique with the Choi that works as good as lateral? Thanks.
