Dr. Hasson/Diffused Loss/6433 Grafts/Two Sessions/Strip

This local patient came to Dr. Hasson in 2009 to have his NW5A diffused hair loss pattern turned around. This transformation required two procedures where the first required 4236 grafts to the frontal zone and mid-scalp. The second procedure, performed 11 months ago, required 2197 grafts to the crown.

Great work to H&W! What was the patient's age?

Also, what did Dr H feel about planning for future surgery if the pattern advances? Say the sides drop lower, or the crown starts coming down in the back, etc.? Did he feel that scenario to be realistic?

KO,

The patient was 39 at the time of his first procedure. He was taking Proscar and ceased using it because he thought that it wasn't working since his hair had not grown back. We encouraged him to resume the medication especially since he said that his loss had not gotten worse while on the medication but did so once he ceased it's use.

We always try to plan for future loss and in this patient's case if the loss does continue he has a few thousand grafts remaining to address these areas.

We recently discovered that some older posts feature Hasson and Wong images that were hosted by a third-party site. The site has removed those files resulting in broken image links on many forum posts. In an effort to preserve our catalog of results for those forum readers old and new, we will be posting revised side-by-side images so you can see what results are being discussed in the thread.
