Senior Member keithh Posted February 19, 2012 Senior Member Posted February 19, 2012 Hi Guys, I still have some pain and redness in both the recipient and donor areas. When I touch the back of my head I get a shooting pain from the scar up to my crown. The scar is also very tight and seems to be wider on the left side. The pics are with a Number 3 blade.
Regular Member Modenese Posted February 19, 2012 Regular Member Posted February 19, 2012 Hi Keith I'm really glad I saw this, as I'm seriously considering Dr Rahal and it's your hair pattern pre-op looks very similar to my own. I've not seen anyone else looking red like that after 3 months. Is it normal? On the plus side, it looks like you've got a lot of transplanted hair coming through where there was no hair at all before. Hang in there. 4800+ grafts, Dr Bisanga, Brussels, Oct 2012 My Photos
Senior Member Cant decide Posted February 19, 2012 Senior Member Posted February 19, 2012 Some people stay red longer than others. This looks good for three months and right where you should be. Senior Member NEWHAIRPLEASE Posted February 19, 2012 Senior Member Posted February 19, 2012 Keithh I personally think, just my opinion, you are gonna feel not normal, probably for the whole first year...and by that I mean, just weird feelings in your scalp and head area...just think what you actually went through..I am one month post op..I still have weird feelings in my head...no pain, just different...and sometimes I do have a little pain as well...if you are worried you can always contact Dr Rahals office!!! As for your pictures...you do seem red, but this is normal as well...it will go away with time!! Good luck buddy...think positive, you are two months ahead of me!! Newhairplease!! Senior Member ShiningDome Posted February 19, 2012 Senior Member Posted February 19, 2012 keithh, How was your scalp laxity? (Sorry, not familiar with your case) It appears that those with tighter scalp take a little longer to go back to normal. In my case, My head started to feel normal after about a month. Senior Member keithh Posted February 20, 2012 Author Senior Member Posted February 20, 2012 Thanks for the comments guys. I've not seen anyone else looking red like that after 3 months. Is it normal? Ive come across a few cases like mine so im not really that worried. Ill be sending mike my 3 month update today and will ask if there is anything I can do to help with the redness. I believe once the shockloss comes back you will be happy with the scar. Thanks Rc. I think the scar is healing nicely but I definitely stretched it on the left side. How was your scalp laxity? (Sorry, not familiar with your case) It appears that those with tighter scalp take a little longer to go back to normal. In my case, My head started to feel normal after about a month. My laxity was really good. I think NHP is right in saying that it may take the whole year to feel normal again I just looked at your pre op pictures, you definitely have some growth starting. The next 3-5 months are gonna be fun for you. Remind me again how many grafts you received. Thanks NHP I can’t believe its 3 months already. Really flew by. I hope the next 3 months are more fun. Senior Member mattj Posted February 21, 2012 Senior Member Posted February 21, 2012 As the nerves in your scalp are still healing it's normal to feel some pain and perhaps some tingling sensations. They will gradually get better as the nerves sort themselves out. I know you know this but I wanted to reinforce it a little. So next comes the hair! I am a patient and representative of Dr Rahal. Senior Member chrisdav Posted March 19, 2012 Senior Member Posted March 19, 2012 Still early days, be patient 2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK. Based on vast research and meeting patients, I travelled to see Dr Feller in New York to get repaired.
Senior Member keithh Posted March 19, 2012 Author Senior Member Posted March 19, 2012 Thanks for the comments. I’m really happy with the growth in the last month. I’ve even started to go out without a hat on. I met up with a friend of mine that I had not seen since before the surgery and the very first thing he said to me was, “did you do a Wayne Rooney to your hair?” I laughed and told him everything. I don’t think ill be able to hide what ive done.

Senior Member Slickers Posted April 20, 2012 Senior Member Posted April 20, 2012 Now its cooking! Looks at great at just 5 months mate. Bit of couvre and toppik would fill that in to a thick looking full head of hair! Not that I think you need it, another month or two and it's gonna be another impressive Rahal result. Hows the scar? Do you still have strange feeling in your head/ donor or has it eased?
