  1. Hello all. Here are a few pictures I shot with my phone today, 14 months and a few days since my surgery with Dr. Feller. I have been extremely busy with work, and as you can see, didn't even have time for a haircut I'll let the pictures do the talking. I had realistic expectations and am happy with the result. I will do my best to post clearer and brighter pictures in the next few days. Dome
  2. sam1870, Forum member Albion71 had FUT surgery with TransMed in 2010 I believe. Dome
  3. TommyLucchese, Your experience mirrors mine - except for the bladder part. I am confessing that I actually went the bathroom to check the new "hairline" in the mirror. :-) As far as the questions, the grafts in my recovery period were just like you are describing. As far as the rain, as long as it didn't hit your head directly, you should be OK. Grow well! Dome
  4. zenmunk, Thank you for the post. I am considering finasteride, and after reading the extensive analysis on your post, I feel much better prepared! This should be a "sticky" :-)
  5. Congratulations on your successful journey. Your results look great. I also get the "wow, you've lost a lot of weight" comment frequently. My response: "Yup, I've been working out"!
  6. Wow, didn't realize it was this bad until I saw the second photo from top!
  7. Congratulations! Grow well and stay away from mirrors for about 4-5 (looooong) months :-)
  8. RSL85, unfortunately, I have posted all the pre-op pictures in my albums. Dr. Feller has a lot of them. I will see if Spex has access to them.
  9. Spreadlocks is right... Like they say in Dr. Feller's neighborhood, "fuggedaboutit" for a couple of months and happy growing!
  10. Thank you all for the remarks. I am aware I could've styled the hair better, and yes, I do need a haircut. However, I wanted to show my hair the way it looks without any improvisation or products. I also noticed what looks like a "bald" spot right on the front, which is simply the way it was parted. So far so good. Let's see if there will be additional improvement in the next four months, until my HT anniversary.
  11. Greetings, Just wanted to post some updated pictures, taken today, 8 months after my HT with Dr. Feller. D.
  12. Kojak (NOT), Thank you for the message, especially with the remarks about my username. It really cracked me up! Congratulations on your surgery. I saw your pictures - nice and clean work, as expected from the Coalition Doctors! Doldrums suck, but it will be worth it. Grow well! Bill, thank you for the message and for resolving the IM issue! SD
  13. Icecreamman, Hope Dr. Feller does not read this, but I cheated with the Red Sox hat! Spex, thank you for the comparison buddy!
  14. Thank you for the feedback Brad! Very exciting times! The most hilarious thing is when I see people that have not seen me from before the surgery, and they all try to figure out what it is that has changed (for the better of course). So, Dr. Feller did such a good job with the hairline, not even one person questioned if I did something with my hair.
  15. Greetings all. Have been busy and unable to take pictures on monthly basis, thus the random updates. I'm at the 23 week mark (5.36 months ) after my surgery with Dr. Feller. No products, #3 buzz (the right side of scar faintly visible under bright light/flash - OK on the left). I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Dome
  16. Greetings! Found a little time to take a few pictures today. It's been 19.5 weeks since my surgery and thought an update is in order. The pictures are in less than optimal conditions (as usual - sorry), under fluorescent lights, with flash used. I used the number 3 guard for my haircut, and the scar is barely visible. I do not use any concealers or hair styling products. I will try to take some outdoor pictures in the next few days. I received multiple remarks in the last few weeks about how I look younger, but no one guessed that it was because of the hair. Again, I use a need to know approach, and not that many people know that I had a HT. I am pleased with the progress so far. Remarks are welcome!
  17. Oh man, be careful. Red Sox hats will prevent growth. NY Yankees hat on the other hand, will help your transplanted hair to grow faster!! That's what Dr. Feller told me :-) Joking aside, I had my surgery there in November, and just like you, drove back to Manhattan in the afternoon! I know, I need to post some recent pictures - will do so shortly. Congratulations on your surgery and grow well. The next 3/4 months will suck, but after that, it is fun!
  18. Jay, Looks great. Just a note - looks like your real name was used in the picture file names, and it shows when you click on the pictures (not sure if it was intentional or not)! :-)
  19. dingdong12, MSM is Methylsulfonylmethane, which is necessary for collagen synthesis: skin, hair and nails. While normally your body gets MSM from fresh foods (fruits and vegetables), a supplement is recommended if not enough fresh vegetables are eaten (MSM can be lost very quickly during the cooking process). Contrary to some MSM promotional literature, there is no Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for MSM or sulfur, which it contains. Since my HT (almost 4 months ago), I have been taking 2000 mg (2 grams) of MSM per day, along with 5000 mcg of Biotin, a multivitamin, and 1000 mg of Purified Fish Oil. So far, my liver and kidneys have not been complaining :-). In the U.S. MSM is regulated as a dietary supplement by the FDA. You can buy MSM in any vitamin store.
  20. Neal/NHP, I'm approaching the 4 months from my surgery, and my "hairline" is appearing. Again, going through what everyone apparently goes through - the constant wondering and thinking about how will it turn out. I can't stop but wonder about things such as "is this it"? Or "will it get thicker"? Did I do anything wrong? People have begun to notice the new hair, and are actually asking me if I did something. Under certain lighting conditions, it looks awesome already... under the others, hardly noticeable. Yes, I try to avoid mirrors, but can't help but check the hair at least 3-4 times a day. If this chart is semi-realistic, I do have a long way to go. I'm barely at 4 months :-) Sorry for the rant! Just thought I'd express what is going through my mind. Dome
