  1. Thanks Glock, I do attribute it to the large amounts of hairs overall. I'm sure my hair color helps, but on the other hand, my fine hair characteristics hurt. Basically I need lots and lots of hair. In my last procedure, the doctor loaded me up with multiple hair FU's, inluding some DFU's.
  2. Hi Orangehair, I agree with the comment on the corners. I think that is one of the skills that Dr. Keene excels at. Apparently it's not that easy. I don't see other doctors doing it to that level.
  3. Pat, even you occasionally need reminding that sometimes things move a little slowly - especially after 5 sessions. At about 15 months, you'll probably be saying "ok, this is starting to look good".
  4. Those are excellent observations Emperor. It is true that hairs angled forward provide more of a shingled effect. That's also why many guys comb their hair forward. From what I can see, my doctor followed my native hair angle exactly. Some of my midscalp native hair does tend top point upward instead of forward. I'm not sure that it has anything to do with saggital or lateral slits. I don't know. I know Shapiro will use either wherever he feels it is necessary. I do strongly believe that there should be an emphasis on strengthening the central forelock area to prevent a see-through look.
  5. Wow, that's a quick recovery. Looks great. Now comes the long 3 month wait that seems like 10.
  6. Thanks again guys. You know NN, I thought about that also. It is possible that hair transplant #1 has matured more over time and has added to the overall look. I really don't know. Although I do know that I have a heck of a lot of new hairs. I can tell the difference when they are new and not as long as the others. Is it possible that the finasteride is also helping? I'm still seeing quite a few sprouts, so this should improve more. Cover of their website? LOL. I always wanted to be a poster boy
  7. Thanks guys. I too am surprised at the benefit I have received from this procedure. I added a top shot that I just took.
  8. There are some fairly recent top down pictures towards the end of my photo album.
  9. I am 6.5 months post op from my second procedure. The first picture on the left is 13.5 months post op from my first. As you guys probably recall, I wanted to add density. I have to say that I consider my 1000 graft procedure a big success. If you think 1000 grafts won't do much, this is an example of how they can. Of course this was an exceptionally high hair count 1000 graft procedure. The pictures are honest outdoor pictures in bright Arizona light (no flash). Top Shot I took this afternoon: And just for kicks, here is my original look:

  11. Thanks Mrjb, I might try some of that.
  12. Lookin' good B - with much more to come.
  13. This is interesting, because I have had some interesting experiences lately. Don't get me wrong, I'm a happily married guy, but a little flirtation to stroke my ego always feels good. Anyway, my hair is getting to a point where it really looks nice now and its framing of my face gives me back some of the looks I once had. I've noticed more women looking at me and even trying to start a conversation with me. Walking around work the other day I walked by a couple of fairly young girls. I don't even know them, but I have seen them around. They both gave me the biggest wide eyed smiles with a big "Hi" - you know, the kind of look that says "I like you". To be honest, I had noticed that these things kind of quit happening to me in the last 6 or 7 years as I got older (and balder). Ah yes, the power of hair.
  14. Looks fantastic Glock. Congrats.
  15. Whoah Bspot! I whole heartedly disagree with that. Having been the recipient of a 1000 graft procedure, with a relatively high hair count, I can confidently say that hair count does matter in such a small procedure. That depends on what you mean by aggressive. When I consulted with Dr. Alexander he recommended 2500 grafts. Dr. Keene recommended 2700. It is true that Dr. Alexander was going to place them at a higher density, but only in a much smaller area (what I like to call a small "patch" of hair). Dr. Keene was more aggressive in terms of my hairline and temple coverage. Dr. Alexander uses the standard lateral slit technique. It seems all of the doctors now using that technique tend to have an overall lower hair count per graft. They use smaller grafts to achieve their high density numbers. That includes Dr. Feller, Dr. Rahal and others.
  16. Well thanks Island Girl! Positive comments from women are always welcome here
  17. NN, As expected, it is great looking work. This will work really well for you. I'm excited for you bud!
  18. Lookin' good P-40! It's coming in like gang busters.
  19. No, after 5 weeks the grafts are set. You will not damage anything.
  20. At 25 I had thick hair with no signs of any hair loss. It was so thick at the hairline, it would hang down as thick bangs unless I greased it back. I'm pretty sure there were no signs of miniaturization at that point. So, I'd be interested to hear what criteria the doctor was following. I'm not criticizing, just curious.
  21. Dang Michael, You're turning into a handsome devil!
  22. PB, that looks great. I can't wait to see it grown out. Good luck. Gorp
