NN: Looks like things are coming along nicely...but like Bspot said..too early for judgment. I look back at my 6 month pics and see how really sparse it looked compared to now. It's a marathon, not a sprint...unfortunately. It appears you have very good hair characteristics that will translate into great results. I wish you all the best. Glock08

Arachas: Welcome...I feel your pain..I too wore a system for 18 years to cover up scars from my first hair piece that was sutured to my head. Behappy's link to MB's solution is about the best hair systems I have seen. ..if you can handle the maintenance yourself. As a rule of thumb, IMHO, the lighter and more transparent the system, the more natural it will look against your scalp"???downside, they're not as resilient"???the hair will fall out faster and you will need to replace it more often. You may also want to scan the forum for people like yourself that opted to repair their prior HT's. There are many excellent Dr's associated with this forum that have helped people like yourself. Either way, I wish you the best. Glock08

It's RI..there's only one girl...and JOBI has senority. Although I have noticed our dog....she has been curling up to me at night lately instead of the kids...It's GOT to be the HAIR! MJRB: Don't sweat it..the bet was in jest. I respect your privacy...but envy your hair. Glock08

HIGA: Gorpy summed it up pretty well..as usual (nice to see you back Gorp). My Ht didn't start to thicken until the 11-12 months..so you really can't determine results yet. Didn't notice in your post..Are you taking Propecia or using Rogaine? It appears that you have a solid plan of action with a Dr. that is determined to follow the results through to your satisfaction. Wish you the best. Glock08

Janna: Phew...Glad you cleared that up..I thought the guy went blind... Because I had the HT, I can't definitively state that it's the Rogaine/Propecia combo, but I believe that I had a great response from using both. I didn't have enough hairs moved, especially in the crown area, to fill in the NW6 horseshoe gap. I also think my perimeter hair, which was almost non-existent from all the damage of hair systems, rebounded from the 2 drugs. I have been on Propecia since 7/06 and started Rogaine Foam 7 months post-op. Don't know if there is an answer for this..but here goes. (The reason I am hesitant for a second HT) The hair re-grown in the areas mentioned seem a bit thinner than my existing hair (and lighter)"???Do you think that they would be more, or less, prone to shock during a HT? Also, how old is the person pictured? Thanks for posting Glock08

EmuSteve's HT with Dr Ron Shapiro - 2700 grafts
Glock08 replied to EmuSteve's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Emu: Congrats--the work looks excellent, as I knew it would. I was scared sh#@less too..but it will soon be a distant memory underneath all that hair. Heal and grow well. Glock08 -
NervousNelly: Thanks for your impartial wisdom. You need to change your avatar to Yoda or something... IMHO...There are always mitigating circumstances which will lead a patient to a particular doctor. The fact that we have several elite hair restoration surgeons to choose from is a God-Sent. Because I chose Dr. X over Dr. Y, was not strictly due to, my Dr.'s better than your Dr., but more based on MY particular needs. For example, some Dr.'s that I crossed off the list would not do more than 2500 grafts. This didn't make them less worthy or make my Doc better "???but in MY particular situation I would have been better served with a larger session-cosmetically as well as financially. (I got that advice from this forum). Thank you "Oh Wise One" and may the "hair" force be with you.. If you can't see it...I'm genuflecting! Glock08

MrJB: This is a great post from a real veteran (x3). Every first timer should cut this out and post it to the wall. My timeline took a little bit longer and I was in the "WTF" phase probably until the 7 month"???it took a little bit longer for my hair to thicken. Thanks again. Glock08

More_Hair: Didn't get a chance to say..Congrats! I had a post-op package which included a two-sided sponge, graftcyte and some ointment for the stitches (like Vaseline). The sponge was really soft on one side and had little soft bristles on the other. For the first week, I had to pat the recipient and could make circular motions with the sponge then use a small cup of water to rinse"???no direct pressure from shower head. I think after the 7 or 10 day, I could use the other side (soft bristles) to be a bit more aggressive removing the scabs. The graftcyte spray worked great for healing and itching...I was going to order another bottle..but the cheapest I found was 150.00..scraped that. I also had flaking, like a sunburn peeling around the 10-14..if I remember the timeline correctly. The worse part for me was the Vaseline on the stitches. I used to goop it up to much, and wearing a hat, my hair was always matted and greasy looking...oh well. You'll be over the hump soon enough. Grow well my friend. Glock08
