  1. Our most esteemed moderator, Melvin, is getting hairier as I type. Dr. Sethi of Eugenix has him the chair. They are streaming live on Instagram, and I believe there will be a YouTube at 10 am EST. Very interesting to watch as Mel interjects some questions and feedback in a semi-sedated state. He is breaking new ground with his live presentation.
  2. Cooley is well regarded by his peers. I was personal friends with a HT surgeon, and he chose Cooley for his own procedure, Technically very competent---and that is what you want because your procedure looks pretty straight forward--improve hairline and close temples. I also think you are making wise decision with FUT---can always FUE later if need be. Your hair will continue to look very youthful for many years to come, and you will be able to put hair concerns aside. Good decision.
  3. Is it possible to re-start topical propecia with minoxidil post-op--or is it better to just stick with the foam minoxidil? Same 3-4 week post transplant time frame?
  4. Hope you took the bed--looks like a long flight. I hear United business class to Delhi is quite nice. You'll need some rest after all the honeymoon activity.. We can't wait to see your great results.
  5. Don't you think they will need about 4-500 for temple points, as drawn?
  6. You have an attractive hairline but there has been some thinning, and it obviously concerns you. Stay on meds and see how things progress over next year. if it still concerns you, try one of those products that add the illusion of fullness. If you are still not happy about the hair, then consult with one of the recommended docs on this site for professional advice. You may be a candidate down the road for a small FUE touch-up procedure to strengthen the hairline, but that is an option that should be thoroughly investigated because if not done well will cause you a lifetime of angst---there are many good US doctors recommended here that will give you honest, ethical feedback. Botton line----tread gently, and look at least invasive options first---medicine in HT is progressing and you have time on your side.
  7. Ignore all posts from Melvin--he is on his honeymoon so his full attentions needs to be on Mrs. M. Enjoy M.
  8. CVS has Sodium Sulfacetamide 9% & Sulfur 4.5% Topical Wash for about $35 with GoodRx. Need a script.
  9. Melvin--sulfur washes with sulfacetamide work great, but they are prescription only. The brand Avar is expensive but you can find something similar on Ebay. (they are antibacterial, too). Works very well as a face wash for SD as well as acne and rosacea.
  10. I stayed at the Meridian that has a food option and outside patio restaurant. Used points. You can walk right across to Mall. You can also walk to Gibson's steak house. Gibsons was terrific. Wonderful food and atmosphere. There are endless stores in the Mall. Uber to Konior's office. All is easy and convenient.
  11. Actually it probably depends on whether you are having FUT or FUE and personal preference. FUT is more invasive and hence might auger for some extra recuperative time. I heard that travel does subject the transplanted hair to the possibility of germs and infection. I was given a cover for the airline headrest. Personally I stayed 3 full days after and left on 4th day which I think was perfect, although another day wouldn't have hurt. It takes time to wash all the medications out of your system. It is nice for clinic to do a few days of washing. It is nice to have some down time just to rest and recuperate. Bottom line there is no magic number, but taking some additional time is a nice luxury.
  12. Right on Melvin. Money can be made and lost. Donor can, at present, only be lost.
  13. With your face prominently on the front page of the Eugenix website (full beard and all!), they should be paying you! In all seriousness, are you about to or just did embark on your journey to gain ultimate coverage and density? We sure wish you much success---regardless of cost. As a person who provides a professional service, I can attest that cost often gets in the way of good decision making and quality results. If the decision is reversible, that is one thing and there is a correction. But, as we all know, in the world of hair transplantation, our self image and confidence is at stake and while, money is a limited resource, so is donor supply at present. I am not sure when I will get the proverbial money press or when science will advance to making donor supply more limitless so we need to be prudent and deliberate with both money and donor supply.
  14. I wish they made something to reduce itchiness which would not be detrimental to transplanted hair.
  15. HairCycle makes a post surgical gel. It costs $85. Very soothing.
  16. I would see a dermatologist. Using a steroid--especially a strong one---can actually lead to more hair loss (perhaps temporariiy). It is possible you have seborrohea because your symptoms sound like mine--itchy, flaky and redness. My dermatologist prescribed nizoral shampoo, which works. The prescription strength of nizoral is very helpful, but there is over the counter version. Maybe you should ask about that shampoo?
  17. Love this Norwood V picture--I would be a Norwood V any day--wouldn't you?
  18. Very informative comments. The wind is a challenged scalp's worst enemy! He definitely could use some more work. Is 74 too old? A nip and tuck and a couple thousand new FUTs would do him well. And I wouldn't be surprised that the scalp reduction shrunk that beautiful skull of his. He certainly had some extra fluff to spare. Poor Rudy not only is he having money issues but his vault of hair seems empty too. He will just have to wait for cloning. Just don't clone him.
  19. The one on the right----and he is also the one that was out sharing the wealth with those star struck starlets who are attracted to his abundant mane and just want to put their hands through it to see if it is real! How real is it?
  20. Changed my life--but took multiple passes. lesson learned--quality of surgeon matters; price does not.
  21. I wonder whether HT surgeons will offer post-virus specials to try to make up for lost surgeries during crisis? They could build some awesome goodwill.
