  1. Sandmac the body is a complicated thing. Ive often wondered why some folk manage the meds well when others do not. I would say it wont harm you any by reducing the dose to a level that suits you. This could be 1/4 daily ,1mg every 2 or 3 days and even 1mg once a week. Once you get a level which seems SIDES free only time will tell if it has positive effect on maintaining your hair.
  2. Transplanted hair is from the safe(grows for life) zone at the rear of a persons head and as such should be safe when repositioned on to the balding areas of the scalp.
  3. Sorry to hear the meds are not working for you...can i ask are they in their generic form or are they Propecia and Rogaine. I would give the lazer comb a miss if i were you , most guys on here consider it to be worthless and a waste of cash. All the best with your HT plans.
  4. Wantego whats this gal look like ......is she some sort of supermodel or something. Obviously young by the sound of it and slightly superficial.
  5. Jupiter...the last time i saw your update you were responding great to your regime. Whats happened .....did you come of it....have you experienced shedding which if you have i am led to believe is the norm.
  6. The two go hand in hand...........it'll all be good by summer time. I notice on your log that you changed from Dutasteride to Proscar ..any reason behind this ?
  7. Why would it be lessened. Age is no barrier in any goal as long as the will is there. Research a physician from the many recommended on this network if a HT is your preferred route. If you want to give medication a try Finasteride, Minoxidil and to a lesser extent Nizoral shampoo can be potentially beneficial. You need to give these at least six months to gauge any effect. All the best with your decisions.
  8. It may be a wise choice to put it off to see if you encounter additional loss. I will turn 40 this year but im willing to give it another couple of years just to make sure the brakes have been put on my own loss. I am round about a Norwood 3v (pretty diffuse at the front but solid at the crown)and been losing hair for about 20 years. All the best with your decision.
  9. Try Minoxidil and Nizoral shampoo for at least six months and then evaluate. No one is forced to take Propecia its all down to personnel choice.Weighing the pros against the cons. All the best with your decisions.
  10. See my above reply to the starter of this post but include Propecia in with the minoxidil and give both 6 months and asses if you are gaining any benefit. These two medications seem to work better the earlier a person notices any hairloss.
  11. Give Minoxidil a chance for six months at the very least. Also try Nizoral shampoo which seems to have a weak effect on dht suppression. Judging by your photographs you still have minimal recession to your hairline so why not try some brand of concealer. Nanogen might be one to try in hair of your length. Google the name to find out more on this. Hope this proves to be a source of help.
  12. Yeh ditto what the rest of the guys have to say....you have waited a long time. ROCK ON!!
  13. H&W are among the elite in hair restoration. They potentially can do great things for u.
  14. Lookin good eman.......... by the summer you'll be smiling one big old smile.
  15. Has anyone experienced a burning sensation in the scalp since they began thinning, balding? If so any ideas on what it is.

  17. a lot of it boils down to our hairier counterparts just taking their good genes for granted. they should thank their lucky stars....ive often wondered what peoples reactions would be if they just woke up one morning and found they were norwood 6. i think peoples perception of hair restoration has been molded by dodgy comb overs and obvious wig wearers, pluggy hair transplants etc. the good news is hair restoration via ht in the hands of a talented surgeon in this day and age can deliver great results. hopefully as advancements are made both surgically and medically in the future the TABOO as it is referred too should be made redundant to the hairloss sufferer.
  18. if it made massive difference to hair loss then these guys would not be the only ones trying to sell its benefits. even with the current medication available today the only truly cosmetic permanent remedy for hair loss is as u state via HT .(as long as u choose a quality surgeon and decent hair characteristics help a lot)
  19. Im glad its all coming good after such a long journey.
