  1. Before pics could hardly be medical records. You bring up an interesting point though.
  2. I thought he gave up singing when he died.
  3. Rose needs to be right there with his patient, otherwise he is not doing his job!
  4. These past posts from Drs. Charles and Rose may be helpful ( Perhaps, you've seen them already): http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/showthread.php?t=156019/r/9896002861#9896002861 http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/showthread.php?t=148034/r/4376013191#4376013191 Wishing you the best
  5. Ah wow Bill, big difference from 2.5 to 5 months. I had noticed lack of straight on shots and I was going to mention that. Katz did an excellent job! How does he rate with regard to the "personal touch" post operation ( following up with you etc)?
  6. This is a little vague man! Consultation or procedure? Have you started propecia? It works, I'm convinced. Some say starting minoxodil 3 months prior to procedure helps with shock loss, unfortunately I cannot corroborate because I've found minox to be antagonizing but others swear by it. According to your prior posts you are loosing hair at the front. I was loosing mine in the front at 21 also but it took another 9 years to get to the point where I could no longer style it and then started buzzing it down. So you may have some time and it might be worth the wait ( new medications, better practices etc). However if your hairloss is already dramatic then go for it. BTW - I would not fly from UK just for a consult, a couple of photos to your surgeon should do the trick.
  7. Are you talking about dense packing, defined elsewhere as "50-90 follicular units per cm/2 in one session". I think approximately 40 FU's per sq cm is required to have the appearance of normal density even though a healthy head of hair might be 80. Please correct me: A NW 6/ 5 = 50 -35 % of scalp bald 250-200 cm/2? A NW 4 = 30% * 40 cm/2 = 6000 Grafts Approx.? A NW 3 = 20% * 40 cm/2 = 4000 Grafts approx? A NW 2 = 10% * 40 cm/2 = 2000 Grafts?
  8. Congratulations! This site has been a very valuable resource and was instrumental in my decision to have a hair transplant, a decision I am very happy with. Best of luck.
  9. Herbert - unless roots were damaged ( unlikely) then they will grow back.
  10. I think it's fairly normal and will grow back in time. Minoxodil may help.
  11. Thinning Hair- Dr Epstein of Miami has a large gallery of women he has treated on his website. http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/hair_transplant_clinic/doctors.asp?DrID=36&%20ClinicName=Foundation%20for%20Hair%20Restoration%20-%20Miami
  12. Kez- Some clown was on here plugging his magic hair tonic and he was booted along with his silly posts. It was quite amusing really.
  13. Spotted this on another forum and thought it worth sharing: http://www.dermatologytimes.com/dermatologytimes/article/articleDetail.jsp?id=140971 highpoint I thought was that: "Upon harvesting and implantation, follicular units enter a latency period of three to four months. "Sprouting is slow and progressive up to the seventh month, when all hair follicles will have germinated," Dr. Uebel says. "In normal implantations, yield is around 85 percent due to apoptosis of some follicular units." I had thought it might be higher. Had I realised this I might have compensated. Great to see news that research continues and making headway. Guys who can afford to wait a year or two should obviously.

  15. Bill- Not much difference to be honest, 5 months, 50 % ( apparently) so you have a long way to go yet. I'm 2 months and the wait is excruciating.

  19. Yes- Propecia is very effective and highly recommended by every transplant doctor I have spoken with. I only wish I had used it 5 years ago when things started to slide. Don't procrastinate on propecia!
  20. I am 6/7 weeks in and I am developing lots of pimples in recipent area. Is this a cause for alarm?

  22. Bill- I'll start posting pics at 3.5 months ( Mid April).
  23. Yes, I had close to 2500 hundred in December so needless to say I am going through the horrors right now. I have to remind myself that this stage is fleeting And focus on other things. The coverups help. I am a Norward 3 looking for a 2 result. Actually I look quite similar to my profile pic but with a NW3.
