  1. Bill- You are half way there. Most are putting 3K + into hairline. I agree with you. Hairline is the way to go. It's so much easier cover the back. Hairline is the make or break. Your Doc did a great job! Very natural looking hairline.
  2. I think it looks natural. You have a young face so your hairloss is more pronounced. I think with time what you have will give a more comfortable look. I presume everything on top is transplanted, right?
  3. Wow, now I know how to push your buttons. The gentleman was expressing himself ( albeit a little crudely). Perhaps he was in a bad mood or had a beer too many that afternoon/ evening. Looking forward to his next diatribe.
  4. Any benefit from rubbing minoxodil into your head say once or twice a week just to keep the buggers alive?
  5. Good questions. I've seen it written that poster Smoothy has a proactive method for taking propecia over a long period. I think once a year he stops taking it for a period of a month or so and he swears by it. Smoothy can you comment pretty please!
  6. Geesh.....I don't know either doctor however a 600 graft strip transplant sounds like a waste of time unless you are targeting specific areas. How many grafts total do you have?
  7. Kez, Don't get your underpants in a twist. Boston makes a fine comment regarding men taking steps to improve themselves....not sure however what Boston meant with the final statement, " I'm really troubled that people would leave the US to have this sort of proceadure." I'm sure you have something in mind. PS Kez, what's the scoop on Doctor Rogers? I have a buddy in UK that could do with some grafts.
  8. Someone- this one has been thrashed to death. I think the consensus is that Propecia stays in the system so every second day will suffice or take every night if easier ( sometimes I forget when I took it last so for sake of consistency I take it every night )
  9. Here is one experience: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/showthread.php?t=154516
  10. Too early to panic....hold tight! We all go through the 'less hair now than before' moment. it will be at least another 7 weeks before you start to see the benefits. Use a Concealer like dermmatch while you wade it out.
  11. Oily, itchy head and rapid hairloss right? Seems to have a low occurance rate. Propecia has been a very positive experience for me. But you bring up a valid concern, perhaps some folks are experiencing hypoandrogenicity instead of intial shedding.....another affliction for us poor baldies to worry about
  12. What is the product composed of? Saw Palmetto, Zinc, L-Lysine and the usual vitamins? You could purchase any of these at the grocery store probably for alot less. I take Saw Palmetto and L-lysine along with Propecia and minoxidil. I counter the Propecia sexual side effects with Saw Palmetto which definately helps. ie if I miss Saw for a couple of days I notice. Plus Saw has minor diuretic properties and keeps the puffiness under control.
  13. My understanding is that Minoxodil does more than speed growth after a transplant. I believe that it keeps those precious grafts from going into a permanent sleep and thus improving the yield. I think Minoxodil, as antagonising as it can be is an important post-op best practice. I've heard that some doctors are recommending it as early as 3 days post op. Please correct me if I have mistated!
  14. I think Mahair is interested in both spots.... prep of donor tissue during the day followed by 'outbound' superstar closing at night.
  15. Damo- Thought you were going with another 1200, What convinced you to up the number of grafts to 2k?
  16. Thx for sharing. Pls document your 3 6 and 12 month results. I need to go back to my doc for pics. but I think Propecia has had a very positive impact to back of my head.
  17. Your point is appropriate for a younger person however a I'd imagine a more senior gentleman quite happy with this look. Anyone else agree?
  18. You are not in a bad shape. Actually I'd go as far as saying that any hair loss you might have is inconsequential to your appearance because you have a fairly decent hairline and not much if any noticeable loss in the back. Besides you must have other things on your mind like lucky Arsenal right now
  19. You must be trying to drive all of your friends off if you are seriously considering a wig, crown topper, hair system or whatever they are calling it now I think they sow it into your existing hair and then it pulls your existing hair out. Those commercials with the guys sitting around the swimming pool with the fake hot wives are brillant entertainment. You know those guys must have been laughing their asses off the whole time. Don't do it!!
  20. Dr Rose- I've heard that FUE survivability can be very low (30-40 % range); in this day and age what percentage of a strip procedure should survive under normal conditions? What are the factors that might impact a good result? Should all of the transplants have poked through after 5 months or can a patient expect to see additional sprouting over the course of the next 6 months? Thanks in advance for you answer or anyone else that cares to response.
  21. From salonwebdotcom Is Nanogen like Toppik?„?? Yes. Nanogen is essentially the same thing as Toppik. Both products are made of tiny, electrostatically charged keratin fibers and conceal thinning hair in the same way.
  22. Dr. Epstein is an excellent surgeon and a stand up guy. I'm certain all his office told you was that they could accomodate you, which is very different from a high pressure sales push.
  23. Congrats....very significant improvement at 4.5 months.
  24. That's a question for a Surgeon. I'd image it would be very dificult to extract.
  25. Dude, with a little dermmatch you'd have a great look! CongratS
