  1. Valid point, certainly a lot of anxiety attached, but infused with optimism also. You have a brief moment of euphoria immediately after procedure before the grafts shed and the shock loss kicks in. Then it's a slow grind. You are pretty much guaranteed 4 bad hair months. I never wore a cap before until day 2 after procedure and I'm still wearing one. Those who know me are not used to my wearing a cap so it draws it's own attention but sometimes it's easier to deal with that. I've been very careful not to talk about the transplant not because of the maliciousness or insensitivity that can result but because I don't want folks constantly examining my hair. One of the people I did share with was really disappointed that I did not have a full head of hair after 2 months and then kind of implied that it had failed. I was amused but at the same time you think maybe it's not going so well. And then one day you catch a glimpse of hairs sprouting....
  2. Appreciate your response Borderline....look forward to your pictures.
  3. How might you define a month, the 23rd April to the 23 May or 4 weeks = a month?
  4. Bill- Looks like you have good donor hair. I'm guessing a 3k+ session mainly on the front would get you to a happy place. I hate the idea of multiple sessions though.
  5. Borderline- How does it look 4+ months out? thx Jacob
  6. hehe, I always like to share BTW HBT , is the hair coming in?
  7. Both are pretty abundant in other supplements that I take so I don't want to risk any complications by continuously "over-dosing" them. The L-Argenine is very effective at countering any *ahem* lack of response that I may encounter from the use of Finasteride (it has never happened, thank goodness, but I feel that there is nothing wrong with staying ahead of the game). Cycling it on and off helps to "shock" the system (for lack of a better term) and keep the libido on its toes. Of course, this is my theory and it seems to work for me. While I don't advocate experimenting with any chemicals (even OTC FDA-approved supplements) I beliece that research into them and knowldege of your body's typical reactions to substances can help greatly when deciding on your own regimen. I am very lucky to have a relatively resilient system so my side-effects are few and far between. Hope this rambling post helps! -Robert Actually I'm a big fan of L-Lysine. I have been using it as a preventative for herpes simplex but I have also heard that it increases the efficacy of Propecia.
  8. Your Doctor may recommend a course of antibiotics to clear up acne.
  9. Based on your description Smoothy, it should be good for sexual health also?
  10. Has anyone been able to figure out the dude that plays Ray Charles in movie and his tattoo across the back of his head. Makes little sense unless he is trying to cover something like a scar perhaps?
  11. Why switch between L-Lysine and L-Argenine, Robert?
  12. Dramatic improvement Neil, congrats! Any meanful growth in the recepient area yet?
  13. Hello Switch- The first question is a hoot. Don't have an answer for you. But if you keep your hair at 4 inches you should be ok. Don't know much about Dr A however his prices are keen. If you are a diffuse thinner then 1500 may cause more damage than help. 15 % + may never grow and shockloss may become a factor for you also so at the end of the day net loss could be a reality. A diffuse thinner should be looking at a minimum 4 k+ grafts. Had I been a diffuse thinner I'd still focus on building a decent hairline. The guys that go bald in the front are almost at an advantage because they know this. Diffuse thinning must be really tough mind wise. With regard to haircut I'd imagine a diffuse thinner would look much better with a buzz cut instead of longer. It may be a look you enjoy, especially if your skin is tan. With regard to returning to work, if you can wear a hat, then the answer is 7 days if the swelling is a factor, otherwise once the post procedure care ends.
  14. I thought that was the worst case scenario. Choose a decent surgeon and it will not be an issue. BTW Are you still a NW 1?
  15. Kez- Are you happy with your result at this point? It's been close to a year. I recall you had some reservations about density.
  16. It's called micropigmentation. I've always been rather curious as to why some tribe or ethnic group has not used tattooing some time in history to cover baldness. Remember those pompous wigs the aristocracy wore in Europe and the US
  17. God no, it will take at least 9 months to see the benefit of propecia. Hang in there, it works!
  18. It's fairly hard to tell what's going on up there because you are coming your hair forward but a 2 looks right. As baldcasanova says you have a strong crown and to be honest I'd say you have way too much hair to be considering a procedure. Are you using the minox. on the front. You'll want to protect/ maintain the crown with propecia.
  19. It's not going to help you in the long run Some reading: http://www.kabaker.com/hair-transplants/hair_replacement_surgery_for_women.html
  20. You should contact your doctor regarding specific products however Minoxidil is recommended 2 weeks post op to expedite growth. Any growth yet?
  21. I looked at past posts and I did not see any real enthusiasm for the product. If it's expensive I'd pass.
  22. Bonzo-- There is a rather odd symmetrical beauty to the before shot. The numbing is a very nasty sensation, like being stung by a bee. They say we cannot remember pain but I remember that moment very well, shortlived as it was.
  23. Actually Mahair is being very proactive if you read his previous thread. He has had this Doctor before the State board. I wish him the best!
  24. Eric - I am always amazed how the same number of grafts can have an enormous impact on one person and less on another. I know that color/ skin contrast, shaft thickness and texture factor. I am also starting to learn that not all grafts will survive; referring you to link below: [link removed by forum moderator - Robert]
