  1. SLK, glad to hear your excited about your results. Not suprised to hear that SLK is from a band called "Rainbow". Man, thats really weird about the guy whose picture is on this site though. What the hell is that about? Thats really screwed up. Bill, what is this? Do you know one of your male models is getting pimped out by other docs? Thats really messed up. rainbow lover: you were REALLY smart to cancel with these other docs man. I hope you get good results, but it definetely showed some saviness on your part to wait it out for a doc you were comfterable with. Im guessing hes a coalition doc, Ive just never heard of him myself.
  2. havent had a ht myself, but I do know that all of the transplanted hairs are going to shed during this time frame. Im sure your doc explained this to you. right? How the hell do you find these hairs and check that their bending at a 45 degree angle anyway? what do you have CSI equipment over there? I dont know. My eyes are so bad I probably dont even notice hairs anywhere...
  3. Balody, why dont you post here more often? your reply to one of my posts was VERY helpful. good to see you on here. AndrewYoung, while what you are saying rings true in a logical / validity sense, I think your missing the bigger picture here. If you ended up with a good doc from one of these "franchises" then thats great. The question is: did you actually know which doc was good before you chose him? Your precisely correct in choosing the analogy of hamburger joints as franchises to demonstrate that its a marketing ploy. But what your not understanding is that they all advertise under the same umbrella. So, you ENDED UP with a good doc, but MOST other people will not. No one is claiming that ALL docs under these umbrellas are horrible, but that we dont know which ones are going to be good as they use the same general marketing ploys to cover everyone who has purchased a franchise, or however it really works. Im happy you found a good doc. But I think you got lucky. How can we..."focus on the good docs"...from these franchises? As you pointed out, they intentionally align themselves with the big-boys as a marketing technique to get their name out there. They dont advertise by doctor names and patient satisfaction results. NO! They fucking advertise as: "Bosley, the pioneer in hair replacement"... Were not buying bigmacs here. Were essentially (as funny as this sounds) getting plastic surgery. Surgery that will be permanently sutured to our heads and viewed by everyone for the rest of our lives. So, I would rather have a couple "satisfied" Wendys patients get pissed, then have my head (or anyone elses') look like a rats ass.
  4. Spotlightkid (every time I read that I think of Britney spears), Im a little confused. you said you cancelled because the same guy whose pic was on THIS website was the same guy at Shapiros' office? what the fuck? then, why the hell is he on this site? Bill?
  5. Mrjb, ..."level headed"...I hear what your saying, but on the same token its somewhat alarming to hear a DOCTOR use the phrase "a ht can accelerate the balding process". If he was merely reffering to shockloss, then I would think (or hope) he would have stated it as such.
  6. I think that looks pretty good for only 1600 grafts. Im suprised you havent had more loss on the back two thirds if this was done years ago. How long ago was it? Propecia?
  7. gfs, if your balls shrink your dick will look bigger.
  8. Janna, thanks for the input. I know I will have future loss all over the top as it is currently thinning. But the thinning has been a very slow and gradual prcess. I would like to go in and thicken that area up, but really dont want to look completelly bald (due to shockloss) for 5+ months. any thoughts?
  9. I believe I read somewhere that your best shot at removing the most amount of grafts is the first procedure, since there is no previous scarring. is this true? Im asking because given my current hair situation, after reading so much about shockloss I dont know if I want to go through all of that. Im considering just lowering the hairline and waiting out the top. Is this a good idea?

  11. Im glad to hear that you were so cautious with everything. some people would have just gone ahead with a doc if they couldnt get their deposit back. you played it smart. money comes and goes but the transplant will be there for years to come. Ive never heard of Dr.Charles, but if youve been on this site for three years then Im sure you heard some good things. Thanks for posting, hope you have good growth and results.
  12. Arrie, teriffic question! I just wish there were more responses. I havent had a ht yet, but this is preciesely what I want to know. In ALOT of the pictures on the docs webpages, you see guys that still do the "comb-over" or just parted to the side look after their ht. Granted, as Mrjb said, if your a NW6 you wont have too many options. But on the same token its hard to tell what kind of density one can expect when alot of pictures show guys with their hair combed forward or to the side. Especially if your 26. Im 28 and due to the limit of my current styling options, this is one reason Im considering a ht. Who was your doc Arrie? Mrjb, I didnt know you posted any pics. where are they?
  13. that really sucks you guys had such a bad exerience with Dr.Con. Maybe we should all chip in and hire somebody to hold one of those huge banners that says "SHAME ON DR.CON"; I ALWAYS see people doing this to businesses by me when their on strike. Surely shell go out of practice then. That really sucks. How the hell does she stay in business with so many unhappy patients? Hopefully you guys can go to a better doc and get results your happy with next time, but I would be really pissed too.
  14. charger, check out the coalition doc hyperlink (the picture) on the top of any page of this site. It will show you all of the coalition docs.
  15. giants, well now if tight-end changes his name back (because of you) hes going to feel like a little bitch. Just doing what you told him to do. Its ok that he changed his name, hes not a tight-end. He just didn't realize what is sounded like when he came up with it. Before I chose "notgoigbald" I went by "pink flamingo", and before that it was "brokebackmountain'a'bum", and before that it was "pudding-butt". I didnt realize ANY of these names sounded gay until someone else pointed it out to me while watching brokeback mountain. That would really suck to gain hair for two years from rogaine and then lose it all. I dont even know if thats worth it. going through that kind of rollercoaster. Chargerfan: I know your not gay. I had just killed a bottle of wine when I wrote that and thought it was funny, thats all. *if anyone wants to use any of my former handles feel free.
  16. Diego/gay tight end/ charger, just messing with you. What the FUCK!?!? The picture of the growth you had from Rogaine is amazing!!! Its like you never lost any hair. Is this for real? So, what when you tried using rogaine again it didnt grow anything back? Your crazy to have gotten lazy with it if you had those kind of results. Has anyone else ever heard of this type of result with rogaine? If so, does the hair actually last (even if you keep applying rogaine) or will it fall out after a while? Maybe Ill have to start using on the front.
  17. DB, (by the way diego boy sounds really gay) you seriously had growth on the top from Rogaine? I have heard of this but have been doubtful as I have never seen it first hand. Dr. Amani: first off let me say that I have not had a ht yet; but that being said, yes I have seen some amazing photos from Dr. A's site. BUT...BUT...I have heard complaints / criticisms that he is WAY to aggresive (i.e. using way too much donor hair for the front hairlines of young patients) and given the fact that you yourself are very young, ht wise, this is precisely the caution. I would be very precautious if I were you as you will suit your hairline in a few years and can better evaluate it then. For your info: Im 28. I noticed hairloss over 7 years ago and was really freaking out about it. I specifically remember looking in the mirror over seven years ago thinking I was going to be totally bald within a couple of years. Well, I guess I have thinned out somewhat, but not NEARLY as much as I thought I would. Be wise and listen to people on this site as they have experienced everything your going through and are trying to help you. Dont over react and freak out to your sitution. HONESLTY, a slight widows peak or slight loss, when your in your mid to late twenties, gives you a more "established" and "mature" look that virtually all womed view as desirable qualities in men. I would like to hear about your experience with Rogaine though as I would be suprised if you grew anything back on top.
  18. natural, dont be puzzled. theres no riddle here. this is a constructive forum where men can find and share honest opinions and experience about therapies which can produce material results. A great way to get rid of the bull shit products that so many people waste their money, time, effort, and emotion over. So either you yourself are peddling this crap or you dont realize that weeds grown in your garden have abslotely nothing to do with hairloss and its prevention. none of these hippy shit products work for anything and they tout it as though it can cure cancer, mpb, erectile disfuntion and loads of other things. yeah, everyone is entitled to share their opinions here (and thats what were doing saying its bullshit) but on the same token you cant use this website as a cash register attempting to market another snake oil hippy shit product.
  19. Bill, patience is one virtue (among others) I dont have. Yeah, I was hoping that is what he was reffering to, but it was somewhat alarming as I have never heard it described as "accelerating the balding process". So, whats up with evryone jumping to the defense of Anonymous's doc? I dont think he ever claimed the doctor did anything wrong, he was merely "dissapointed" by his results. I understand everyone (myself included) wants to know who his doc was, becuase thats a huge part of what this forum is for, right? Sharing our experiences?
  20. notgoing2gobald, thats crazy! What the fuck!? how could this be!??!? WHAT, NO ONE HAS ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT THIS?
  21. VH, 18 is considered too young for a hair transplant by virtually all surgeons. Although, you could find an unethical one who will gladly take your money. But, most doctors want to wait until your around 25 so the balding pattern is more established and you should wait. You could try propecia. I havent tried it, but many guys report that their hair loss has stopped as a result.
  22. Lightseek, where did you get this information regarding East Asians / Islanders and perpendicular gair growth? how do you know anonmyous's age and graft count? do you work for the doc who performed the surgery?
  23. Wanthairs recently pointed out a publication by Dr. Rassman in which he states that a hair transplant may accelerate the balding process. He was given this advice to an 18 year old, but nonetheless is this applicable to everyone? Has anyone heard about this before? It is in his response to the question "Im 18 and want a lower hairline" in the following link: http://www.baldingblog.com/ This would be extremely counterproductive for anyone who is not completelly bald yet. Any thougths?
