  1. Fue all 3's. multi's. leave some 2's and super dense pack with fue singles i have say 1/4 inch of fresh skin/forehead ti fill in it it maybe 5 to 7 large grafts
  2. Any ideas what to do this area looks like cxxp. I have to wear a hat. I have sparse 3's and 2's with some fine one's right at left forehead and down side temple area. One doc says he cant take out dissect and put in same hole as it might pit. Pitting may look better tha this. This whole area should be fine single and some doubles. It does match other side. Very concerned and frustated. please comment
  3. I went for a hairline touch up 2x and Doctor did not want to FUE very noticable 3 hair grafts in my hairline. He said there was much scarring to begin with. I asked if we could plant a 1 in the hole and he said it would pit. It looks terrible. I have about 7 to punch out. Did anyone have this problem?
  4. Hey Sparky, I had about 5 repair HT for my hairline I had abut 15 couple graft removed and I need maybe 10 more. I went to 1 crappy doctor who gave me large pitted grafts. I then went to an fue doctor just just ran the same agles of new grafts around it. Now it looks clumpy as hell. I need one more HT to remove some more grafts. I am scarred up pretty bad so one doctor wont do it. Big, big , expensive mess.
  5. Planting grafts around large plugs probally wont work. I tried camouflaging some pitted grafts to no avail. I wish to punch them out and spread them around but some docs say the area is too scarred. Are your plugs much darker than native hair. Mine stick out when I dont dye. I wish I had the courage to go bald. MY HT never looked natural from the beginning. I didn't get 1 good day out of it.
  6. I am losing more natural hair making my coupled fu's very noticable. On a recent ht repair it was pointed out that many grafts are "pitted". I notice they do not lay right and always stay much more darker than other hairs. Many are compressed. I tried to place grafts around the pit but had extremely low growth rate. How does one get rid of pitted graft? Do I dissect and replant around? Do I remove altogether? There is a chance of being scarred where they we implanted if totally removed.
  7. Hi Triffid, I was about the same size scar. I had an open wound for months and the original ht doctor could not touch it till it healed as working with a wound leads to larger opening. Please remember that surgeons were only doing say 3 mils at a time on my last 3. Never try the whole scar because it may get even wider. The t - closure did not work
  8. I wanted to have some hairline up'ed in one area but please remember you will have scaring or tiny white dots. on you fore head.
  9. About 15 of my grafts had to be fue and reset at the correct angle. I am going in for about another 15 to be reset or split up.
  10. I am about 8 months out of HT repair. Very little results. I know it takes a couple of sessions for refinements to really establish appearance. Does any one know the best way to hide a ht scar. I have had about 6 reductions and they all seem to stretch. I do have an extraordinary tight scalp. I like short hair and have to keep close to an inch in the sides and back to cover the 2 scars. I am going in for tattoo work. Maybe in 5 to 10 years my scalp will have the needed laxity and then I will have the pencil line scar. Is there fake hair or something a surgeon can put in a scar? I hate to waste money on grafts as I heard there is very little success in a hardened scar area.
  11. 168 was FUE. I had about 3,500 fue in general over 5 years, Each session say between 400 and 800. Can't do much more as one or two areas are become very thin. My scalp will need a least 5 years for a large strip.
  12. Progress Report I am about 14 weeks post with Dr. Beehner. I choose Dr. Beehner a second time as I was very happy with the results and especially the painless procedure. A little history of me. I had 2 procedures of about 800 coupled fu (1600 total) from a local Philadelphia Doctor. It was a disaster that kept me wearing a hat for almost 4 years. 800 of the coupled fu were placed in the first 1 ?? of my hairline starting about a ?? inch up, from were some original 1 hair hairline was thinning. After six months my natural hair went and I had nothing but 3 hair grafts and coupled fu's. It was very noticeable. I would also note that at least 40 coupled fu stood straight up and were at different angles; some were placed into the temple area as if he overlapped the hairline. This doctor gave me 2 stacked scars that never really closed. After waiting say 6 to 7 months for growth I decided to have 3 procedures with a Canadian Doctor (very happy with him too)based over 2 years. All work was fue with a few grafts coming from strip. I had some coupled fu's removed and we tried some singles to camouflage the larger grafts. My scalp was scarred so we could do minimal work in each area to make sure what we did would grow. Well the singles never really masked the grafts. Again I had at least 40 tree-trunk looking grafts that stood pretty much straight up. We also did scar reductions each time but to no avail. I began shopping for a local HT doctor and Dr. Beehner had some high ratings. Last year, around this time, he performed the most painless surgery every. Well, I was so pleased that I had another procedure about 14 weeks ago with him. I would like to note that hair transplants can be painful. My first HT (not Dr. Beehner) was a series of needles to numb the scalp and believe me each and every one stung. The procedure seemed to last forever. I also feel each slit and had 1 eye swell shut for 2 days. Dr. Beehner on the other hand injected some type of IV sedative that immediately put me at ease. I was then given a nerve block. I did not feel any pain, pressure, or injection what-so-ever. I did not hear the rip of my scalp as I did with the first Doctor. I was totally at ease, time seemed to fly. I had 2 very small scar reductions which netted about 400 grafts. We did not cut from hair bearing shaft to hair bearing shaft as I did not have the laxity. I needed some more grafts so Dr. Beehner thoroughly examined my sides and picked the densest area where no previous FUE was harvested. He was able to grab about 168. The slits were minute so I healed in about 4 days. I can say 14 weeks later that the scar did NOT stretch. I might add that I was Dr. Beehner's only patient for the day. We sat for quite some time going over what was best. I had some suggestions but his recommendation proved best. He was present during the whole procedure. He cut all the slits and designed the hairline himself. I was given supplies and medication at a very nominal charge. I had a question or two after the procedure which was answered personally by email right away. Dr. Beehner is a top doc in my book. His surgery room was immaculate. The staff was very professional. I wish I went to him originally as his approach is a little bit more conservative than others. For instance I would do bigger coupled fu's last, after fully grown in hair transplants. You only need a couple here and there for density. I have attached 2 before pics at the day of surgery. I have about 6300+- grafts total. This session was to fine tune the weak hairline. I will still need some mid scalp density; I estimate about 800 grafts and of course the crown will be last. I have about 2 strips left which will probably give me 5,000 more grafts.

  14. I had about 500 coupled fu just behind my hairline. They stick up almost vertically; I guess they compressed. They were definitely the wrong angle and implanting other hairs did not help them lay any. I have an illusion of fullness when combed back or to the side and the hair lenght has to be about 1 1/2 or more. Sometimes after a hat or waking up it is quite noticable. I am planing on getting some removed along with a couple of 3's removed also in the hairline. I need a light dusting also on the temples and front hairline. Does anyone know of a FUE doctor on the upper east coast near PA State? I need someone very experienced. I was planning on 1 session now but FUE went from 8 dollars to 9 dollars this year. I was used to paying $ 7 dollars. I went to Dr. Jones in Canada and was very happy but now with gas I wish not to drive too far. I had a session with Dr. Beehner who was also excellant.
  15. Thanks Fellas, I heard any graft into thick scar tissue will only have about a 50% survival rate. Paying for 400 grafts and getting 200 is quite expensive if FUE.
  16. I had a very positive experiece with Dr. Beehner.
  17. I have a 3 inch by 1/4 inch (wide) scar. The strip was taken too high and never closed to create a pencil line scar. I had 2 scar reductions and it reduced a couple of millimeters. The reduction included the whole strip reduced; one side shut ok but caused tension in this one area. I also have some minute patches of hair (moth-eaten) missing from above and below the scar dues to numerous suturing; combination of suture and needle passing thru. There is no laxity and the scar always stretches. Any suggestions? Don't want fue if the hairs don't grow. Tatoo?
  18. I regret my decision at the time. I was too impulse and naive. I trusted a "Doctor". We naturally put trust in certain positions in life; preist, cop, etc. If anything I would go conservative for the first couple of HT's and build density in time. Another expensive lesson well learned.
  19. I had some coupled fues that were pretty much at the hairline. I had about 800 of them. They look really good when you have exsting hair. I started to thin at the upper temple and they started to stand stright up (compressed). I am going back in about a month to get 15 out and some hairline work. Dr. Beehner fue them out. We did replant them in some other areas. I asked if he could replant them in the same hole at a different angle but it is not possible. I want to try him for some fue in the the hairline when I get the rest of the coupled fues out. He did do most of the work and let the techs do some of the basic planting. He did the temples himself. I will post some pics of what is left to take out. I have about 5700 grafts and will have about 6,200 when I leave him. I have no bald spots. I was just thinning so it looks pretty thick.
  20. Hello All, I am about 5 months out of a scar reduction and graft removal. I had 8 HT's so far. 5 were fue sessions ranging from 348 grafts to 1000 grafts. I choose Dr. Beehner this time. I remember emailing him before any HT's but initially decided on a butcher that was close to my location. I was 31 at the time and did not want to hear I may be too young and not balding enough. I wish I did listen to wisdom in the beginning. I may be a 6 one day and should have went a little more conservative. Dr. Beehner was a real gentleman. He did overcharge nor ask for monies up front. He did not use manipulate tactics . I was the only patient that day. His decades of experience makes him a top Doc to me. He was a real family man. His son went to college in my town so we had a lot to talk about. My first Doctor (not Beehner) took almost 1/2 inch of donor in 2 different spots within 5 months. The needles from him really stung but nothing to cry about. I had 2 eyes that were swollen shut for about 2 days. One scar opened creating broken up scars as wide as 5/8 inch. It was an open would but this Doctor did not want to cut or re-stitch as may have stretched even more. I am not sure what Dr. Beehner's method of anesthesia is called but it was absolutely the most painless of all procedures??. Beehner gave me some type of injection and before you knew it I was practically asleep in the chair. I did not feel or hear any donor incisions. Time flew by and before you knew it I had a 2 scar reductions and 600 +- graft surgery. I had no pain or drowsiness and drove fine the next day. The office was immaculate and the surgery room was very professional. Dr. Beenher did all of the incisions and most of the planting of the temple area. I am going back in less than 2 months for about 15 grafts to be fue, dissected and replanted. I will need about 400 fine grafts to create a hairline. I am glad he is on this forum.
  21. Happy Holidays !!! I read Pat's blog for 2 months before I decided on a HT. 5300 grafts and still counting.
  22. I did not like my experience with Dr. Gallagher. I have 2 stretched scars after 3 scar reductions from another Dr., none of them could really close as too much was taken out by Dr. Gallagher. I was misinformed and overcharged. There were many discrepencies between what Tom (salesperson) said and then what Dr. Gallagher had told me. He does coupled fue's and they do not look as natural as an ultra refined session.
  23. I havehad close to 4000k of grafts with Dr. Jones. About 3k were fue. Dr. Jones is hands on. He has had his staff for quite some time. The last session the nurse worked at Seager for many years. His prices are average and the work is good.
  24. I personally do not like Dr. Gallagher's work or ethics. I saw some of his patients and they all looked pluggy. He is too small to do large sessions. Did you see Tom's HT? It's terrible. How could you expect yours to look better? There is a sucker born every minute. They don't need you. There is another patient right behind you.
