  1. What if you are constantly living or working in a closed space without good ventilation or circulation between outside air and inside air?
  2. I meant to say the decision on the direction of the transplanted hair made by the doctor depends on how you decide to comb your hair after the transplant has been made. I say this because, before my surgery with Dr. Cooley, he specifically asked me how I intend to comb/style my hair. Based on my inputs, he transplanted hairs in such a direction that it would look natural.
  3. I think the direction of the transplanted hair depends on how you comb or style yourself. In my case, I don't see any new hairs growing in the temple region and the transplanted hairs have sufficiently thickened already. So I don't anticipate the hair orientation to be rectified in due course of time. I am quite happy with the transplant procedure done on other parts of the head. Only in the left temple region, the transplant direction problem exists.
  4. I had a HT about a year back. My hair is wavy and it looks like the hairs in the temple region have not been transplanted in the correct direction. When I try to comb my hair in the temple region, it does not confirm to the correct direction of other transplanted hairs. Do you guys know if there are any methods to correct this? When my hair is wet, its ok. But once it gets dry the direction problem show up.

  6. I like my hairline compared to what it was before. But would have preferred few more grafts in the temple region. I have wavy hair and cannot cover the temples adequately.
  7. You are right. I had only 500 grafts implanted on the crown. If that were not so the crown would have looked a lot more emptier. I am on propecia every other day too. Considering that I am still losing some hair in the crown, I am inclined to get a second HT some time in the next year or two..and of course after I accumulate some more money . I think about 2000 grafts would do but I would wait for an year to see how the crown loss progresses.
  8. You can check my weblog for a 1 year update post HT. The hair in the top seems to have thickened little bit compared to the 9 month mark.
  9. Good progress Dewayne. Congratulations. Did you notice any improvement compared to the 1year mark? or has it been more or less the same?
  10. Propecia does reduce the sexual drive little bit. It did happen to me and very likely will happen to you too.
  11. There were some sides initially. But its was not all that bad for me and it also seems to be going away. I started taking propecia about couple of months after my HT. I did experience some shed and I don't know if its because of the HT or propecia. The shed was massive...so its probably due to HT. I havent seen any regrowth with propecia. It sure has stopped hair loss significantly. I take only 0.5mg every other day. If I had taken larger doses, it might probably have led to growth.
  12. My itch is also in the area where I lose hair. So it could be related to DHT. Propecia has significantly reduced my hair loss rate..I would say about by 75%. I did experience some sides but its not all that bad. I take 0.5mg only.
  13. Scorpion, I had shock loss in front too after having 3200 grafts placed in the front. It started about 3-4 weeks after surgery. I looked totally bald, more than what I was before the surgery. But it grew back gradually. It took about 4-6 months for it to grow back..so don't worry. Eventhough shock loss in the recipient area does not happen to everyone, it does happen. Use MSM to hasten growth.
  14. hdude46, I had EXACTLY the same problems you are having right now. I did try many shampoos etc but they all didn't help to get rid of scalp itch. I know three things that works for me very well. Might not work for everyone. 1. Scalpicin - This takes care of the itch in minutes. But does not last very long. Will have to use it very often. 2. Propecia - Propecia definitely helps scalp itch. But it is not instant though. It takes few hours to show its effect on me. Sometimes even a day. Lasts for few days for me. 3. Chocolate - I am not kidding. I don't know why but drinking chocolate helps a lot (i dont use much sugar). Maybe because it helps in NO production?? I don't know. But I know that it has worked for me many time. I will have to use about two tea spoons of cocoa power for it to show its effect on me. I do have oily forehead like you have. Propecia has sort of decreased it. But I am still not able to get rid of it completely.
  15. I know Dr. Cooley has done some good work in the front part. I haven't seen any before and after transplant photos in the crown region. So I am not yet considering him.
