  1. Hey, I saw your post in the hairloss drugs section. HT was coming along nicely last time you posted, I wouldn't mind seeing an update if you have one? Also, in regards to your Hair Loss Drugs post I'm an 0.5mg oral dut daily user, it seems to be producing good results combined with sublingual (oral) minoxidil. Only concerns I have is that if it stops working there's not that much more room to increase dosages or try something else. Part of me thinks I should try and reduce my dosage and frequency to a minimum for "maintenance", then in future I'll still have increased dosages up my sleeve if my hairloss starts again. Why are you looking to change? 0.5mg fin daily is pretty light on but should be enough for maintaining hair.
  2. Did you immediately switch or did you stop the drugs completely for a period (i.e 2 weeks) then recommence MWF?
  3. If allowed I can copy paste this article. Let me know @Melvin- Moderator as I'd hate to break any rules.
  4. I started on 0.9 sublingual minoxidil and got noticeable results. If you aren't located in Australia it might be a bit hard to source.
  5. This comment right here is so awesome. Congratulations.
  6. Thank BHR Clinic/Bisanga @Raphael84, they gave me the referral! Have to say my 7 month experience so far on Minoxidil has been really positive. In February I'll know a lot more following an 11 month appointment with Dr Bhoyrul.
  7. To quote the NYT article: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/08/18/health/minoxidil-hair-loss-pills.html
  8. Seems like a lot of talk of increased heart rate in here. I have been on sublingual minoxidil since March 2022 and I've been wearing a Samsung Galaxy watch for over a year. Using the Samsung Health app on my phone I'm able to look at the history of my heart rate (low to max) each day for the last 12 months. I can see in the months prior to taking min my resting heart rate was typically 54-61. Post taking minox my resting heart rate is 52-62. To me this shows it's had no impact on my minimum heart rate, but I've been on a fairly low dose being 1.8mg sublingual oral minoxidil. Can share screenshots of the data if anyone really cares about it's authenticity.
  9. I haven't researched enough of their work to know unfortunately so I'm not a good person to ask on this. Don't want to mislead you.
  10. I read through the thread Melvin linked and I can't see how he's a troll? It seems like he needs help to me. Agree with changing the title of his thread as it was a bit misleading.
  11. Hey @Gatsby, you might find this comment useful (although it could be too late...)?
  12. I have been taking these for 6 months and I feel totally fine. Hair thickening has been really positive so far (keeping in mind i started oral dut at the same time which might also be contributing). The dermo who prescribed them told me in his experience oral/sublingual minoxidil is much more effective than topical because people are inherently inconsistent with how they apply it. Given sublingual is such an effective delivery method they can give a much lower dosage. I was getting noticeable results on just 0.9mg daily.
  13. 0.9mg/1.8mg sublingual minoxidil for about 3 months each (6 months in total) and haven't noticed anything apart from thicker hair. Fit and healthy 30 years old.
  14. Glad to hear you're on top of your hair loss, that's the most important thing. I think you might find it worthwhile looking through some of @_lshy's threads as he was originally looking to get a transplant in Australia and ended up going to Thailand, there's some good considerations made in these threads.
  15. Hi Ice, Have you been able to stabilise your hairloss yet and are you still using topical medication or have you tried oral? I'm also in Australia but am trying to stabilise my hair loss with medication before pulling the trigger on a hair transplant. If I do go down the hair transplant route it's highly unlikely I'll do it in (or near) Australia. The procedure is too important to be influenced by the cost of flights.
  16. I was close to booking my flights to Turkey and transplant with HOI before I stumbled on this forum 😳. @Britalian's Bisanga comment changed everything for me.
  17. 5 December 2021 compared to 13 September 2022 - and in dire need of a haircut! Timeline of meds: 5 December 2021 - 14 January 2022 - No Medical Regime 15 January 2022 - 16 March 2022 - 1mg Oral Fin daily. 17 March 2022 - 24 July 2022 - 500mcg Oral Dutasteride daily, 0.9mg Sublingual Minoxidil daily 25 July 2022 - Current - 500mcg Oral Dutasteride daily, 1.8mg Sublingual Minoxidil daily Please note these two pictures weren't taken using the same camera. In February 2023 I'll post comparative photos taken by my dermo clinic in their controlled environment. Couldn't be more pleased with how the midscalp has thickened. Still have a very average hairline and my crown isn't perfect but it's a huge improvement. No complaints from me (provided my donor hasn't regressed!).
  18. I believe 🙌. You now have access to a lot of different hairloss drugs (minox, fin, dut) combined with all kinds of different delivery methods (oral, topical, sublingual and more). I'm certain with Dr Bhoyrul you'll find a regime that works for you and is something you can stick to for the future.
  19. No it doesn't or I'd have no hairline at all (and I barely had a hairline to begin with before dut)!
  20. I don't have any advice to share but I just want to say I think this is an important thread. I'd love to do some research on hairline design and seeing what's ideal and more natural based on facial structure etc. I still have no idea how I'd want my hairline designed if I went for a transplant.
