  1. I had a previous hair transplant with unideal temple placement, with blunt/woody grafts. It was recommended to me that these are placed further back. One concern is that I scar very easily; I am probably at the bottom 1% of scarring. I remember getting a small cut on my face a few years back which resulted in a scar, which surprised my dermatologist (who I originally went to about preventing a scar, she told me a scar shouldn't happen). It was recommended to me that I can relocating just a few grafts to see what sort of scarring occurs. Most of the HTs who I have looked up with extensive experience relocating grafts on here are quit sought out, with appointments booked 8-12 months out, and prices for the high quality of work. I am wondering if I could get a procedure done where I might be able to get it done sooner. Another reason is that I also need to get my huge donor scar closed up from the previous procedure. Though I am concerned that if they do not have a lot of experience relocating grafts, it will result in scarring, which will be not big deal in terms of aesthetics since it'll be only 10, but this would result in me not relocating the rest of the graphs, which would limit the quality potential of a procedure. It seems that this requires great skill, as I saw another post on here with a HTs not doing it, out concern of scarring. Are is the a ton of skill and art for relocating 10 grafts?
  2. I usually just send a rough sketch with the note 'looking to defer to surgeons recommendations'. But I was wondering if there would be a more helpful answer to provide to them. There are probably people who have a strong vision for what they want. For other people, there may be more conservative / liberal approaches in terms of number of grafts and maturity of the look. Is it also possible there are multiple ideal hairlines for a person?
  3. I'm 11 years in and mines are still Wiry, though from consulting with some of the top ht surgeons as recommended here, it was overall a subpar job on many fronts.
  4. I think you can add Shapiro to the list. Might be worth a quick call.
  5. Dr Shapiro is also encouraging of topical finasteride, has experienced good results from his patients. I was surprised to hear that topical dut has less side effects than fin. I thought dut has more side effects since it effects both enzymes? If dut has less, why is fin more popular? Right now topical fin seems pricy, from 40-60$/month. Shipping costs can also add up if you're not from the same state as the compounding pharmacy. I'm trying to see if I can shop around. Can you just ask any compounding pharmacy to make topical liposomal finasteride? Or is there something special about the formulations from Wong and the others? I'm also looking at topical fin that also has min in it. If I apply min around the same time as fin, I get side effects. I think there's something in the min formulation that is making the fin go systemic. So for me topical fin is interfering with how often I can use topical min.
  6. Where do you guys buy your topical fin and topical dut?
  7. It is recommended by Dr Shapiro, so that's pretty much all I need to know lol
  8. I scar very easily, so I am looking for those who have demonstrated good experience with graft relocation. If any long-timers have been around and could remember great relocation results, that would be appreciated. I think the more known best people for this are Shapiro and Konior but they are about a year out for first appointments.
  9. I recently heard about trichotest which can give recommendations if you do better on fin or dut. I don't know much about it, I just heard about it on reddit recently.
  10. I've had a prescription that ran out. Before I renew, I would like to shop around.
  11. I am looking to relocate some grafts in a botched hair transplant. I am curious about what people's experiences have been of this. Are there any reviews you can think of where someone has experienced this?
  12. Scars for the regular implanted hairs? There are none, but isn't that normal? Since the grafts are being placed in slits, no skin is being removed. For relocating grafts, I hear the phrase 'punch them out' is used, so that led me to believe some skin is being removed in relocating hair. But I actually never bothered to figure out what this procedure entails.
  13. Thanks everyone. I am probably in the bottom 1% of scarring. I got a small cut on my face a few years back, and that resulted in a scar. So I suspect there would be some scarring with punchouts. However, I received a hair transplant with a very poor graft placement in the past. The surgeon I consulted with said that he would not work around that, and would do a reposition. So for me, it's picking the lesser of two evils.
  14. I had a previous hair transplant, where the surgeon did a very non-ideal placement of my corner grafts. So much so that my first pick for physician wouldn't consider a procedure on me unless he could relocate them, even if I was happy with the placement (I'm not). My concern is scarring. I'm probably in the top 1% of those who scar easily. I am wondering if anyone has has any experience with relocating grafts.
  15. I believe Dr. Konior is booked until April 2022. With the vaccines rolling out, the delays can't keep happening much longer. I think it will probably be delayed after May, but I would be surprised if it's open past June.
  16. He is one of the best in the world. If you Got a date with him and can afford it, go for it
  17. It's mostly straight, just the feel of it is rough, but sounds like it's not supposed to be that way. I'll post some pictures in a bit to give a better idea.
  18. Thanks, I always wondered about this. Mines was over 10 years ago, I guess this is how it turned out 🤷‍♂️
  19. I had a hair transplant, and the hairs that were transplanted feel a lot different than how the hair on my head normally feels. It's less soft, and feels wire-ly if that makes sense. This is a crass description but it's describes exactly how it feels like: it feels like pubic hair.
  20. That's basically what I'm looking for. Hair that doesn't show obvious balding/recession, and saving up donor hairs for the future. Not a 'wow, movie star results!!!' thing
