  1. Hello everyone, First time poster. Please excuse if I post this in the incorrect area. - I am in the process of excepting that I need a second HT. While I certainly was never over regarding my first procedure, I had enough density to style my hair without focusing on hiding my thinness. In late 2018, I switched my hair maintenance care to Dr. Cole's office. Per recommendation and my own request I switched from oral finasteride to topical. My hair has been thinning since; however, I am always told by the Cole office to keep waiting. I understand now that I have been an idiot and should have stopped listening to that professional advise and restarted the oral (There is more drama to that story which includes a 5 month period of time I moved overseas and had to use the solution every other day & another a 6 month period I was unable to get ahold of Dr. Coles office during covid. It left my feeling like I have been scammed). I believe my hair is getting worse by the month. It really looks pathetic when I try to hide/style it. Over the past 6 months I have had trouble keeping my scalp from getting inflamed and flaking. I am sure this poor scalp health is not helpful. - Anyways, I am getting those "balding blues"; where I loath looking in the mirror, wind, and bright lights. I am unsure what to due except schedule a HT and hopefully improve my hairline and replace the lost density. I am 33 years old and would like to keep my hair really short or have the ability to grow it out and part it. I suppose I am just looking for advise, feedback, hope or a dose of reality. - I don't know if I should call it and shave me head. Is vanity preventing me from something less distracting? I just want my hair haha. *Yesterday I received a quorate from Dr. Konior for 2000 grafts. I chose him due to the positive results I have seen on this forum and his ability to make the most out of sparse hair. I am wondering if 2000 is enough? Below is what I sent him and his response. Hair Timeline: 2009 - Began Isoniazid for TB treatment. Diffused and retrograde Hair loss first noticed 2011 - Began Finasteride - Dr. Vogal.....Positive response to oral Finasteride 2015 - Hair Transplant - FUE 1000 (??) graphs - Dr. Jeffery E. Schreiber - I was never pleased with shape of HT - I experienced 2.5 weeks of severe swelling - eyes swollen shut - I am unhappy with the unnatural direction the hair grew. Especially at my temple. It is easily noticeable that I received a procedure. Nov 2018 - D/C oral finasteride - Began topical finasteride - Dr. John Cole Jan - July 2019 - Moved to Europe and was unable to access topical solutions. Took oral 2-3xs per week. Did not notice increased hair shed. Sep 2019 - Began topical finasteride solution again - Dr. John Cole Jan 2020 - Dr. Coles compounding pharmacy changed. - The new pharmacy's solution caused my scalp to become extremely dried and flake. Rapid hair shed began. Due to Covid-19, Dr. Cole's office was not returning calls. 6-7 months before office follow up. Present - On topical finasteride - I am unsure if it is working - I am constanting reassured to keep using it. I am not pleased with the direction my hair has taken since my Dr. Cole began my care. I am sure like many of your patients I am experiencing a great deal of stress everytime I look in the mirror. I am getting close to shaving my head in defeat. Goals: I would like to have the freedom to either keep my hair short and tight or longer with a part. I am aware that I may be asking for a lofty outcome. Current Treatment - 1)Topical finasteride 1x per day 2) Ketoconazole Shampoo 2% - for Seborrheic Dermatitis 3) HIMS shampoo 4) 5 minute head massage at night with a hand held electric massager. 5) 10 minutes every other day under a low level light therapy lamp (non brand name). Email from Dr. Konior The wet hair photos are much better and show that you need at least 2000 grafts to accomplish your goals. In light of your prior FUE harvest, another FUE procedure makes sense if you want the flexibility of wearing short hairstyles in the future. I believe that the ongoing use of stabilization medications is wise as your pattern is certain to progress with age. Stabilization medication will assure that you maintain maximum total density by helping to slow the natural male pattern thinning process. My fee for such a restoration is $25,000. PHOTOS - First 5 are current and from the list is sent to Dr. Konior. - Next 4 are some recent dry hair photos - Next are 2 wet hair from March 2020 - Buzzed hair from 1.5 years ago - Reasonably Ideal hair line (actor from google)
