  1. some update: - Yes they are both the same formulation (Macdonalds and Xyon) - Xyon is $100 a month, if your doc recommends application daily.. (half, if your applying every other day, as I have been told to do so) - Xyon is higher in price. - Macdonalds will eventually cease to prorduce the topical for H&W, but I think there is still some time for that. Hope that helps.
  2. Wondering if anyone here orders topical finasteride from Macdonalds pharmacy in Vancouver ? I seem to be having a lot of issues getting prescription (from Dr Wong) filled from this pharmacy. I was told that the initial order takes time (2-3 month) since they prioritize existing patients, but I got my first order in over 4 months. Now its been over 1 month, and they cant seem to fill my re-fill.. Every week, they say another few weeks. And I am getting close to running out on the topical. Question: - Anyone having similar issues ? - If so, any resolution (the pharmacist did say he will try to send a smaller pump, but nothing on that front yet) - Any recommendation where I can get a reliable alternative source ? - I am told by the clinic that Xyon in exactly the same medication, so I might try that (just that I am currently one month invested in this pharmacy, so I guess still betting on a unwell horse, than a new one). Not sure if I am reading the website correctly, but for anyone that uses their service, is it really $100 bucks a month ? (seems more than triple for what I am getting (when I do) at Macdonalds, given its the same thing) Thanks for your time as always.
  3. I get mine from macdonalss pharmacy in vancouver via a prescriltion from H&W. You can also get it from a new website dr hasson started recently. I am told both products are same. P.s i am referring to topical finas. No experience or dutas. Best
  4. Overall its a low risk.. but you are going to a place where the doctor has minimal involvement, so it depends mostly on the skill on the tech you get... fyi, i also knw a close friend that went to serkan, and he confirmed the he didnt show up for the surgery much... he is however, happy with his HT.. best of luck
  5. These are not compounded, so they are consistent in quality from most reputable places.. Topical finas on the other hand can differ depending on where you get it
  6. definitely improving month over month.. you still have more new growth to experience and thickening of the hair..
  7. you have come so far from where you started.. great stuff... still a few more months of improvement to go... best of luck
  8. i got the one from McDonalds pharmacy that they prescribed mid-last year. was told its the same thing as Xyon (just no shortage issue, as with the pharmacy).. havent tried it for long enough to form an opinion yet.. but will update
  9. Happy to see people conquer their hair loss, especially the high NW folks (as I am.. was)... I went with H&W 1st (since it was tough to get back into Canada in early phase of Covid), and probably will head out to Eugenix next ... i would suspect Rahal would have refused to take you on as HT candidate (did to me).... those uneven growth are normal, and will in most cases balance out in the latter months.... happy growing
  10. I have a similar loss like yours.. IMO the 2 most important things you need to decide are a) what is the final result.you will be satisfied with b) what.sort of time and money you want to spend on it.. your hair loss is extensive...5000k will barely jus take you close to (decent) coverage. You need 8k-9k graft.. that will be a ton of money and several HTs and heck lot of patience (assuming each HT is relatively successful).. make sure you are ready for that longgg journey.. if you want to have the option of wearing your hair extremely buzzed after HT, avoid FUT.. otherwise, it "may" yeild more.graft overall.. Personally I avoided mega sessions (one and done).. instead went with a 3.1k 1st HT to address frontal and lateral humps and then will do mid/crown in the 2nf HT (have a booking at Eugenix later in the year) and then probably a 3rd HT to address anything left/possible...all in all almost 3 to 4 years by the time i will be at where i hope to be at if at least most of things go in my favor.. You will need to build ur lateral humps, your occipital area looks like the best donor (mine is too), probably avoid using grafts making temporal peaks (they are nice to have but you probably have more imp use for your limited grafts) its a game of grafts, patience, luck and money... plan accordingly
  11. S P E E C H L E S S... get ready for this thread to become the most talked about thread in HT universe Glad for you brother.. your years of patience and anguish finally paid off... The funs starts now.. perhaps this time next year you can co-star with one of Dr pradeeps actor patients in a bollywood flick once the mane is all grown out happy for you.. best of luck
  12. WTFue... almost 9k graft.. wow thats amazing @Gatsby .... wish you all the best
  13. I am only about 6-7 months out.. So far, so good..... I was quite advanced (NW 6-7), but wanted to do in steps, instead of a bigger session (was given the option).. so did frontal and mid in the 1st HT.. will address whatever I can in the next.. Did have a video call with Dr Pradeep, he sounded quite positive for my next possible options... clinic aftercare is pretty solid too... will document results in a few months..(sorry didnt mean to hijack Gatsby post)
  14. I checked with the clinic and they said both products are the same (macdonalds vs xyon). I would imagine at some point macdonalds started offering the "new" formulation, and thats how they have so many patients on it. I guess i may be one of those guinea pigs, without even realizing..lol... cant recall what i paid for my macdonalds bought topical though... but there sure was a longggg waiting list (4 months), which i am told Xyon will not suffer from..
  15. I am sure the wait will be worth it.. i certainly didnt have the patience that you do, and went for my 1st HT with H&W last year, since travelling outside Canada was difficult.. now scheduled for my 2nd HT with Eugenix in summer of this year.. Best of luck bud..
  16. "Before this new solution" was that the one they sold through Macdonalds pharmacy ?
  17. You seem to be open to both medication (Finas) and FUT.. 2 things that many potential HT candidates are sometimes hesitant of... As such, I think you are giving yourself the best shot at this... I agree with the rest.. experiment with Finas first.. and then, if needed, when you are ready for HT, then go for an FUT ... that way you will probably maximize your grafts and get a lot covered in your 1st HT... you can use BHT later on as and when needed..... and if you choose FUT, then I wouldnt travel out of the country, as Dr Wong is the legend in this field.... depending on when you want to do your HT, you can even start performing scalp massages that H&W recommend on their website, as that can improve your laxity/graft availability....(H&w does not perform BHT)... if you decide that FUT is not for you... explore Eugenix.. P.s I had an FUE with Dr Wong a little while back and met him a few weeks back for a follow up...cool guy to chat with, and has a great team.. clinic is run pretty solid. best of luck
  18. Hi all, - I recently received my order of topical finasteride. Wondering what medical tests, if any, should I do before I start using finasteride, in order to compare results post usage ? My apologies in advance if this topic has already been discussed before..
  19. I have been trying for almost 2 months to set up a consult with Dr Pradeep, but havent had any luck. Havent heard back from abhinay or Rishabh .. busy times i guess
  20. Macdonalds pharmacy, right beside H&W.. currently there is a 4.5 month wait for first order.. mine just got mailed a few days back, so waiting for it to arrive any time.. (I am a patient of Dr W, and my understanding is that only their patient get it (unless they changed that) fyi.. I am (was) a NW6/7, and Dr W thought it will be beneficial for me... ( I also started taking oral minox post HT)
  21. Chicago Hair Institiue.. dr konior is probably one of the best in the business (although when I communicated with him 1 week back, he was booking for Jan 2023)...or even Dr Nadimi in the same clinic is great.. while its true that you may/can leverage beard hair, it all depends on the route you choose. If you decide to address this (as much as possible) in one shot, then you can explore doing a mega FUT session (h&w, hattingen). Or if you dont prefer FUT, then a FUE+bht (eugenix, Bisanga, HLC, Bicer,) If you choose to do it in multiple stages (my recommendation) then you can do just a scalp FUE/FUT in your 1st HT (which gives you the highest options of doctors for ur 1st HT) and then depending on its success, proceed with a 2nd HT in 10 to 12 months (perhaps this time going with a dr that is good with BHT) Best of luck
  22. The most important question you need to answer is 'what are your expectations from an HT"... if you have modest expectations, decent beard and other BHT hair, and some grafts available from.scalp, you can get some form of coverage.. if you are really eager to go down the HT route, my 2 cents will be to get as many Doctor opinions you can get.. the rejections you got may be for good reason, but alternatively you wont be the first person to have been rejected.by some doctors while others may have some.viable options for you... (if the H&W rejection was via a consultant, ask them to get a second opinion from the doctor himself.. try to send pics with longer hair and perhaps a clear statement expressing your overall expectations) personally i too got a no first.. but with clearer pics and expectations, i eventually went ahead with an HT with H&W
  23. Yes..its mostly all back to normal. I wasnt too concerned as I have read beforehand that its quite common in the beginning. I am sure yours will be back to normal pretty soon.
