  1. What I meant was that at 18 months into your 2nd HT, the density will be much better and accentuate your first HT, I think you will look terrific, Like I said before on another thread, think of it as seeding a new lawn, at first it comes in very patchy and sparse, but as time goes by, it gets thicker, denser, and a lot more uniform! I know its's just an anology, but it best explains my point....
  2. LTL, you say that you don't want to have a strip surgery because of the scar...right...If you have a forehead reduction surgery, won't that give you a scar right in front of your face! It doesn't make sense....A scar on the back of your head, which can easly be covered, is a lot safer than a scar in the middle of your head which can be very unpredticable and a lot harder to hide! Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  3. For a natural hairline, Dr. Konior or Dr. Rahal... Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  4. Spex said 18 months! I would go as far as saying 24+ months to see full results...and I'm talking from expirience! Just a thought from the peanut gallery....
  5. I say wait at least untill you are 35. HT are not a cure...... Just a thought from the peanut gallery....
  6. Doing fine, Tos....happy to hear your already growing! Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  7. I hear you, it was just a sugestion...When I had my first HT, I swore I would never go through one again....but...18 months later, I )was back in the chair for round 2...My point is that how you feel today may not be how you feel tomorow...I really wish you all the best...but personally, I don't think you really should be all that worried, I think you will have great growth...I looked a lot worse than you at 7 months after my first HT, at 18 months, it was like I had a different head of hair...and I'm not bull*%$#ing you.... Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  8. After looking at your pictures John, I can better understand how you feel. From the pictures, it does look thin, but natural none the less, unless it is a different story in person. Here is what I think might be happening. Before any restoration, you had plenty of hair in the middle, none or very little in the temple area, in order for it to look completely natural, you must equal the density in those areas to match the forlock. Maybe that's what Dr. F has done, and you really have to wait a full year or two to see if the density will match. If not, than you can always go for another pass...IMHO... Nice hair Badhairuk...congrats.. Just a thought from the peanut gallery..
  9. I feel for you John, I still think that you will find the answers you are looking for...and the resolution! I won't try to pretend I know what you are going through, because I don't, but what I will tell you is that, we are our own worst enimies, and our own worst critics...Cheer up...life's way too short Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  10. Dr. B is a true pioneer and an artist....He used to practice with Dr. Rassman some years back, both surgeons, IMHO, are masters...They have helped repair more guys than most of the other coalition Dr.'s combined! They are both very rarely mentioned onthis site, which is a shame, but I'm glad to hear when someone posts a genuine expirience, like yours, with a happy ending...Good for you! And happy growing... Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  11. Ill see if I can help. 1. Dr. Konior, who did my surgery, told me to do the same...yes it worked...by day 3 I had almost no scabs at all. 2. I had a double layer closure. Disolvable under, staples on surface...scars looks great so far. 3.Find a hairdresser that works on HT patients...They will be more expirienced with dealing with the scar...and they won't ask any questions....Ask Dr. B if he can recomend anyone...I would wait at least 1 month before getting a hair cut...Hope this helps Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  12. HT's, for all intense purposes, are actually straightforward and simple....you move hair from one place to another....how hard can it be, right? Wrong...angle, placement,density..etc.,etc.,...Those with high NW levels, will never have any true density, they will have coverage, but the rest is just an illusion....Those with minimal loss, who are looking for the "perfect" head of hair, think that they can go into existing native hair, to "thicken" it up a bit...sometimes suffer permanant shock-loss, and end up back where they were before, or worse...it can be a no win situation...I beleive that HT's are only for a select group of people...those who fully understand what can be acomplished, have resonable expectations, good hair characteristics, 35 and over, good donor density,or at least average, can afford it,low skin to hair contrast, etc.,...I think you get the picture... Just a thought from the peanut gallery..
  13. I'm sure Dr. Feller is a great and caring person/surgeon, but at the end of the day he is still human, not a god, sometimes things don't work out the way we hoped for....I wish you all the best going forward John....and don't be to hard on yourself, istill think there is a lot that can be done...not that I think you really need anything....but it's your head not mine... Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  14. I also can understand how you feel TTP, I had about the same level of baldness as you, my first HT was 2640 fu's, and my surgeon said it would be more than enough, after a year, I didn't feel it was quite adequate, so I had a second round, this time with Dr. Konior, another 2000 fu`s , I`m at 5 months post op, and let me tell you, what a difference it has made...That means around 4700 fu`s for a NW 4a...I don`t think your HT is awfull, just incomplete... Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  15. Hey, nburns, the best advice so far is from the B spot. I always try to discourage young guys from getting HT, it's not something that is for everyone. Especially at 23! Go see Dr. S, he is very ethical and will tell what you "should" do not what you "can" do. For the younger guys who have had HT's, don't start responding how it was the best thing you've ever done, and how you don't regret it etc...etc..This is my opinion and I stand by it... Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  16. While i don't much about Dr. Keller, I can certainly tell you about Dr. Konior. I am a patient of his, had a 2nd HT 5 months ago, (the first was with a local Dr.), so far I am very happy with the results, I had around 2000 fu placed in the frontal third, without shaving, and it was totally undetectable 3 days later, I'm not kidding. His staff is very dedicated, and Dr. K does most if not all of the graft placements himself. His surgical room is very state of the art and professional. He treats a HT like it is major surgery, cuts no corners, very meticulous! Check him out, I think you will be very surprised... Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  17. Don't get me wrong, I'm neither insulting or am I judging your decisions, that's not my place or business...I think in your before pictures you had a mature and age appropriate hairline, being european myself, I like a widows peak! But that is my prefrence and obviously not yours, fair enough...By the way, body and beard hair is only a "last" resort and I beleive for extreme repair only....Beard hair on the head will look just like beard hair on the head!!!Nothing more...I don't think you want to consider going that route...It doesn't look pretty....Shaving the front might not be an option either my freind...There will always be scars...no matter how small....2000,3000,4000, holes in your head will show once you shave...My advice to you would be to stay on meds to slow down your hairloss, and be happy with what you have....Peace.. Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  18. I think you looked better before...Hope you never lose the whats behind the HT or you will look ridiculous...I think you have hair greed...Just being brutally honest.. Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  19. This is always my favorite topic, I myself having done both can say that I saw no difference whatsover between the two...The biggerst difference I can say is post op recovery, cosmetic wise that is, shaving will have you looking like a strawbery for quite some time, it will almost be impossible to hide the redness, and looking in the mirror will just increase anxiety...I firmly beleive that surgeons who perform surgeries of 4000, 5000, 6000, grafts and charge a resonable price, can not do those surgeries without shaving, it would take a full 24 hrs to perform, but then again, if you need that many grafts there's probably not much to shave anyways....Another quite disturbing comment made by a few posters is that shaving is required when there's an abundance of hair, to avoid transection, if there's an "abundance" of existing hair, what the hell do you need a HT for! Just a thought from the peanut gallery....
  20. Even if there is evidence of some white dots...99 people out of 100 wouldn't even notice...And even those who do probably wouldn't know what it is....At least that has been my expirience...Hope this helps buddy. Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  21. Honestly, your recipient area loss dosn't look all that bad...Your donor area looks brutal....I also had some shock loss on my second HT, but it all grew back...So don't worry...I think you will be fine.. Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  22. HT's IMHO, should be reserved for those who are at least 35 and over...If you think you need a HT at 28, chances are you might have extensive balding....Do you really want to play the chase game? Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  23. You can expect to see growth and maturation for up to 24 months. Hope this helps! Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
