  1. Late Post Alert!!!!!!!!

    Hey Guys,

Hope you are all doing fine,

I had my surgery done on October 13, I wanted to post my experience for a couple of weeks now but was held back due to the post-vacation job workload.

So, I would like to start off by mentioning my history of hair fall and progression. I am currently 26 years old, my hair fall started when I was 18. Hair fall had a huge impact on my life and wellness initially but as time passed I was able to cope up better as I use to console myself telling me one day when I start earning I can fix this issue. My hair fall progression pattern I would say was slow-medium. I never did a rigorous treatment to prevent my hair fall, I used minoxidil 5% a couple of times for a period of I think 4-6 months and tried some crazy homeopathic treatments. But since 3-4 years I did not do anything but maintain very short hairs, I use to trim them very short, I believe this has helped me retain some hairs but that's probably not entirely true.

So how did I end up with Eugenix?

Honestly speaking I did not do a lot of research like I see people doing on the forums. But I had these clinics on my list from my initial research (As I was Inclined mostly towards Turkey and India),

    1) Eugenix, India, Dr Arika Bansal

    2) Darling Buds, India, Dr. Bhatti

    3) Asmed, Turkey, Korey Erdogan.

    4)Hakan Doganay, Turkey.

with this list In mind I consulted MattDominance, he is a YouTuber I use to watch for transplant and hair fall related content, he has paid counseling where he suggests hair transplants clinics. Although I felt he has a consultation fee a bit on the expensive side but I needed guidance and wanted some honest suggestions and opinions on the clinics. He first asks about the clinics we are interested in and gives his opinion on them and also suggests some clinics he feels best. He suggested some good clinics in Europe but I was not inclined towards going to Europe for my procedure. From my list he said Eugenix would be a top option to consider and also suggested MediSpa, Dr. Anoop Soni would be a great option. After speaking to Dr. Arika on phone and seeing Eugenix's results I was very much inclined towards Eugenix. I am an Indian residing in Canada, so I thought I can get done with my procedure when I go to India for a vacation, Although this was not a deciding factor I would have traveled to turkey if I had felt my procedure would be better there. So I booked for a 120 Rupees package In which hair design and slit making are done by Dr. Arika, Extraction and Implantation are done by the technicians.

    My Experience at Eugenix

so Initially I had my procedure booked in May 2021, but due to a massive covid outbreak in India at that time, I had to postpone my surgery to October 13. I got a 3-week vacation from my work so I had to plan my surgery mindfully so that I could enjoy my vacation with my family In India and get done with the procedure. I traveled to India on October 3, After a great week with my family I was ready and excited for the procedure.

Amandeep Singh was the patient coordinator who was dealing with my case, he booked a 3-day stay at a hotel nearby the clinic. I arrived at the hotel on October 12 in the evening, he sent me a couple of forms and questionnaires to be filled and asked me to report at 9 AM the next morning.

I was at the clinic at around 8:50 AM on my procedure Day, one of the technicians took me to a seating room where he served me a great coffee and asked me to wait there until the doctor arrives. After some time another technician came in with some consent forms and did a BP check-up and some tests to check anesthesia sensitivity.

After some time Dr. Arika Bansal came in and drew the hairline design, Initially, It was a bit higher and then I asked her If It be can be lowered a bit then she lowered it 2-3 mm, I was ok with the hairline and it was finalized. Then there was a Photography session with the hair design.

Soon After I was taken to the surgery room and local anesthesia was given. Dr. Arika began the procedure with slit-making and that took about an hour or so. After that technicians continued with the graft extraction and Implantation. There was slight pain while giving the anesthesia but the extraction and Implantation were painless. The technicians were very welcoming and took the utmost care to make me comfortable. I had a nice lunch at the clinic and had a couple of breaks in between for coffee and tea. I was done with the procedure by 9 PM, Ahhh finally a long day came to an end.

Aman, a patient coordinator at Eugenix explained to me everything that has to be done for the next 7 days and gave me a medical kit that contained all the things I needed for the post-op care. Also, the clinic created a dedicated WhatsApp group to assist me with any queries. They were very helpful with my queries.

All in all, it was a great experience with Eugenix, very professional.

    7 Days Post OP

I traveled the next day to my home, I took utmost care not to bump myself anywhere.

I was told to spray saline water every 2 hours, and I took antibiotics twice a day.

Sleeping was difficult, I used a travel pillow for a week so that I dont accidentally rub my head in sleep.

Did the head wash after 7 days, detailed instructions were provided by the clinic on how to properly do it.

  2. @rishibostonian Yeah he specifically suggested to continue with oral finasteride, but I currently live in Canada so its very difficult to get the drug without prescription.

well, my safest option is stop the topical minox+fin solution 15 days prioir, I am assuming that It should not cause a lot of damage to my hairs that 15 days of break

    from minox+fin solution.

@Melvin- Moderator  its a topical minoxidil + finestride blended solution which i am using currently, they are probably intending me to stop minoxidil.

  3. @rishibostonian thank you, yeah the person who deals with my case at eugenix recommended me to stop, when i first asked me he was saying to stop around 1 month before, when i asked him for second time he said stopping 15 days prior to surgery is fine.

    @JohnAC71 thanks man!

@Egy I use a topical solution of both minoxidil + finasteride blended together by a clinic for me, I cannot stop them individually, if i choose to stop i have to stop both,

@MazAB thank you, will definitely share my experience,

so stopping minoxidil 15 days prior to op will be fine? I have my op on 3rd oct so 23 days remaining,

  4. Hey guys,
I have my procedure finally scheduled next month, nervous about how things will go, I will start a new thread once I have my procedure done to share my experiences,
Guys please need your opinion on this,
I have my procedure schdeuled at Eugenix Clinic in India for october 13
I have been using minoxidil + finestride topical solution since 2 months.
I have seen that people stop using finestride before surgery and I am advised by the clinic to stop like 15 days before surgery.
Could you please guide me on when to stop and why do people stop using finestride before surgery?

@Osman1234 sorry but Minoxidil will not stop your hairloss. There’s only 1 solution to stop hairloss and that is Finasteride. If you don’t take it you will most likely  evolve to a Norwood 7 in the next 5 years.

A ethical Doctor might refuse doing surgery on a 25 year old if he’s not in Finasteride because you will probably lose many of the transplanted hairs to the front (just like I did).

ASMED and all other Turkish hairmils and will gladly take your money without warning you about this because they are concerned about money and not how the patient will look in 5 to 7 years.

I advise you to request a diagnosis to Dr.Bruno Ferreira.

@Portugal25 Hey thanks man for the honest suggestion, So you ultimately mean if i do not want to use finestride I should not have a HT?

@Osman1234 you should read recent posts about Koray Erdogan because you will understand that nowadays it’s nothing more than a high priced turkish Hairmill where your results will depend on the techs assigned to your surgery when you check in.

There are several fellow HRN members with botched hair transplant from ASMED complaining from lack of response and even being threatened by lawyers.

My advise is run like the wind from ASMED (unless you want a surgery run by technicians instead of a renowned Doctor)

If you are dead set on having a HT in Turkey the only sure bet is HLC Ankara at 2.5€/graft. I say this having had myself a HT in Turkey.
My doctor Kaan Pekiner achieves amazing results but he aborts patients with miniaturized hairs and is too conservative.

Both HLC and Pekiner only operate on 1 patient per day and implant using a technique called stick&place in which they open 1 hole/slit at a time and immediately implant the graft.

If you are willing to go to Europe then look at @Dr. Bruno Ferreira because he works in Madrid with Dr. Jose Lorenzo one of the best FUE docs in the world but also has his own clinic in Porto where he charges 2.5€/graft. Dr. BF does a technique called DHI in which the graft is inserted into implanter pen and these pens open the hole/slit and implant the graft at the same time. This means smaller holes/slits and a quicker recovery.

I was also 25 in 2008 when I had my first HT with Dr. Rahal.
i had side effects with Finasteride and stopped taking it so I lost all the hair in my mid-scalp and crown and in 2017 I was a NW7 with maybe 60% of grafts implanted holding up in the front.

Since you are also 25 I would imagine any doctor not looking just to take your money to strongly advise you to start Finasteride because if you don’t in 5-7 years time you will be a NW7.

    best of luck to you!

Thank you @Portugal25 for the valuable information.

I very reluctant to taking finestride because i had anxiety issues earlier in my life. What i plan to do is to have a transplant to correct my hair line which would probably need 3000-3500 grafts and will try using minoxidil. Im ok to go for an another down the line for my mid scalp and my crown. Will monoxidil not stop my hairloss atleast for 4-5 years.

How do u feel what im thinking is practical?

    thanks!

3000 to 3500 grafts would be apt for your frontal zone reconstruction.

There are a couple of very very important points that you must ponder over:

    1. Your age is 25 (very young). You will lose more hair in the future and the baldness will further progress.

    2. Between the age of 20 to 30 the speed of miniaturization is higher. After 30 till 40 it slows down. After 40, it stabilizes to a certain extent but that does not mean that it will completely stop.

    3. Hair transplantation will help get new hair on the bald area. It will not stop any further progression of baldness.

    4. Minoxidil cannot substitute Finasteride.

    5. Finasteride is extremely important if you want to preserve your already existing hair. You have a lot of them on your scalp.

    6. If you do not take Finasteride then you inevitably require more procedures in the future.

    7. Finasteride has been long demonised and hence the side effects have been exaggerated. A lot of individuals miss out on good hair because they are too scared to even start the medication. You should at least give it a try.

Transplantation is just one facet of the hair restoration process. You should always take the wholesome route. Finasteride can be extremely beneficial for you.

Please do feel comfortable to ask more questions.

    Hey gabrielle, thanks man!

I am aware about needing further hair transplants, I am ok with it  down the line after 4-5 years.

I would like to try finestride, but Incase if i dont want to continue? what is the probablity of a sucessful HT? Minoxidil Would not help in that case?

    Much appreciated.

    Regards,

  8. Hello Guys,

Hope you are all doing well in this time of unrest,

So, basically I started loosing my hairs when i was like i think 17-18, During the Initial stages I dint knew anything about hair fall or anything one of my friend suggested me Minoxidil 5%. I used that for like 2 years and i use to use only on my temples as i use to feel as I'm losing hair's only from that area. Then i felt my hair loss did not stop and I tried a homeopathic doctor which I continued for almost 2 years and I stopped that too. Since past three years I did not do anything expect may be for massing my hairs as i thought i have to any way get a hair transplant eventually. I maintained very short hairs, I believe that's the reason I have some hairs left. Now I am curently 25 years old , I have become a bit financially stable and can think of spending money on my hair transplant. I am looking forward to have a hair transplant at around february next year.

I researched a few hair transplant clinics (not a lot though i just started my research a month ago), I found Korey Erdogan's result very natural and I asked him for a evaluation, He said I would need around 5000 grafts and that would cost me 12500 euros, Wow that's too expensive for me I dropped him Immediately from my List. I also asked for an Evaluation from Eugenix and Dr. Tejander Bhatti. Eugenix replied me with 3500 and finestride(which im not sure what to do) but the cost of Eugenix would be fine to me. I have not yet received any feedback from dr. bhatti yet.

I am looking forward from suggestion from you guys for clinics in my range and any general suggestion is mostly welcome.

I have my photos please have a look at them.

    Thank you guys

    Regards,
