Duchaine has a great thread, so does @CosmoKramer and @Shifty All three of these guys have some amazing results in the crown using non-surgical treatments. I think you've caught it early enough. I don't think you need to do any surgery just yet.
yezzir check it out. Also don't be afraid of things such as fibers or dermatch

Looks good man. I’ve tried Dermmatch on much thinner hair and it doesn’t take as well. Looks more like mascara on the scalp. I’m thinking hair fibers would look better but not hold up.
This was what I was thinking was going to happen. I still have to play with it because it kind of makes the hair look wavy. It doesnt come off though which is great, fibers fly off from a stiff wind.

So I wanted to try DermaMatch. Here are my results!!
Thoughts?
Picture 1 is Au'natural
Picture 2 is with DermaMatch
Picture 3 is after a heavy 5 second blowdry session. (I wanted to see how wind resistant it was)

You sure? I figured the increased Rogaine absorption due to the rolling was a big part of your success. What do you think the rolling is doing then?
Positive. It's all about collogen and blood flow.

@Shifty it would be interesting to know what’s more effective considering you’re dermarolling is done to help with the topical absorption. I wonder if oral is essentially helping with absorption as well.
Derma rolling has nothing to do with minox. In my case at least.

Look into a system. I've seen some incredible videos with your type of hair. because its so thick naturally the systems actually look good.

You only need 2.5 mg for hair loss and you start by cutting the pill in half.
It this something you have to take more of the longer you use it?

@Russ @Shifty you may remember I had great regrowth on finasteride alone, then started to have a significant shed. as soon as I got on oral minoxidil, i noticed the shedding stopped and I started to rebound from my shed and have noticed noticeable, and substantial improvement/gains. Now, I’m not sure if it’s just coincidental of my finasteride shed ending, or if the minoxidil was kicking in.
I've never really had fin shed. I think I'm interested in the MINPill because putting foam on twice a day is really annoying.
Is the MINPILL something I have to get prescribed by a doctor?

This is a side effect, and 80% is kind of scary! You basically become a wolf-man.
Dermatologic-Hypertrichosis-Elongation, thickening, and enhanced pigmentation of fine body hair are seen in about 80% of patients taking minoxidil (minoxidil (minoxidil (minoxidil tablets) tablets) tablets) tablets. This develops within 3 to 6 weeks after starting therapy. It is usually first noticed on the temples, between the eyebrows, between the hairline and the eyebrows, or in the side-burn area of the upper lateral cheek, later extending to the back, arms, legs, and scalp. Upon discontinuation of minoxidil (minoxidil (minoxidil (minoxidil tablets) tablets) tablets) , new hair growth stops, but 1 to 6 months may be required for restoration to pretreatment appearance. No endocrine abnormalities have been found to explain the abnormal hair growth; thus, it is hypertrichosis without virilism. Hair growth is especially disturbing to children and women and such patients should be thoroughly informed about this effect before therapy with minoxidil (minoxidil (minoxidil (minoxidil tablets) tablets) tablets) is begun. Allergic-Rashes have been reported, including rare reports of bullous eruptions, and Stevens-Johnson Syndrome.

I was just at Shapiro Medical Group this week and Dr. Paul says oral is much more effective. He takes the oral himself and says if you don’t have any heart issues then that’s the route to go.
Where can I get it? Obviously I can find out myself, but gotta make sure im not getting sawdust! Any other side effects besides heart attacks? lol

Do you condition everyday as well?
I do. I always keep a few of each product on hand because they run out fast.

Same here...I’m debating using the home brew ‘Zix’ as I’ve seen a really good result from a person on another forum using as a replacement for Minoxidil, and in conjunction with derma rolling and the progress looked great. I tried it last week but the only annoying thing about Zix is that it’s yellowish color stains a bit.
zix?

I also take plenty of supps but I’m very skeptical of PRP due to lack of visibly consistent results, if you have the cash to pay $3,500 for 4 sessions and want to give it a try and chronicle it, then do you, but I’d hold on to the cash and put it towards an HT with a great doc, if I’m being honest.
I kind of agree but obviously what Ive bee doing is trying to avoid surgery. I mean if it works Ill be a poster boy.

So Shifty do you wash your hair everyday? I saw you use a ketoconazole shampoo and a different one on other days. How long do you leave the ketoconazole in for? Do you always condition as well?
I do wash my hair every day. I leave the Keto shampoo in for 5 minutes. The non Keto shampoo for about 3 minutes. I always condition.

$3,500 for 4 prp sessions? Are they injecting gold as well?? 😉 I hope you didn’t go to Pursad to get that ripoff quote...as I’ve read that’s around what his clinic charges...
Just my honest opinion, prp is over-priced snake oil quackery that requires expensive upkeep with limited results if any at all, same goes to the heavily marketed Nutrafol “miracle” hair supplements, you could get some good quality supplements for cheaper and honestly I’ve seen some good rapid growth from Now brand MSM and Biotin daily supplement I take that costs around $5 a month compared to Nutrafol $90 ripoff price.
I take plenty of supplements! lol I was curious because I heard $1500 for PRP. I am willing to try it out and document it. Proof is in the pudding. The place i got quoted from is literally 2 buildings away from my own office. Too bad they are banging me over the head,.
