wow, if you look super closely you can really see a super super slight difference in density at norwood 6 mark..in the middle where the crown dips..but maybe its a coincidence the way you cut your hair idk
Yeah its a bit more than super slight imo
But it isn't that hard to predict ones hairless potential
Like it is easy to find your own border between donor and what Norwood you are
I'm a potential nw6 but will never be a 7 . My sides are each side very thick so I have a decent donor left

The early studies stated it worked best in the crown because that was the area of application targeted. I started using topical minoxidil when it was first released here in Australia in 1987. It was prescribed by a dermatologist and I had to go to a hospital pharmacy to have it compounded. Originally it only came prescriped at 2%. Also it cost $150 a month back then. Today I can buy four months supply with no script for less than $50 from my pharmacy off the shelf! How times have changed!
Oral minoxidil is 30 euros in Ireland for 60 tablets at 5mg. Very cheap

I'm 33
My hair at the back indicates a possible nw6.
Its been like that 24 25 not actually progressed at there yet I'm not on fin
But your final nw pattern i think is usually indicated quite early once cut short . Like to go from thinning to reach your full Norwood for most people usually takes a long time

Hairman22 wouldn’t it be just as effective to go to a hair doctor and have them use high magnification glasses to check for miniaturization as opposed to buzzing your head? I went to one and they told me bot niniturization, but wonder if buzzing hair down tells more of the story? I wouldn’t think so but who knows
Yeah for sure it can be seen under a miscrocope as well

Alot of NW patterns are evident when you shave your head all over to a very short buzz cut.
Like at 25 i could see i was a potential Nw6 as i had lower crown thinning its why i requested a high enough hairline
Now im 33 it hasnt progressed much at all even just on minox but if i never shaved down my hair i would never have know i have thinning in that part than indicates a NW5-6 in the future & would have a bit of a shock when getting an in person consultation.
So i agree if you shave your head to a short buzz its likely at 25-30 u can see your potential final pattern.
If you see areas with no thinning at all over 30 its likely you wont every have DHT thinning in that area. More so age related thinning over the years rather than MPB.

Yes i am quite happy with my donor. Dr Saifi was my surgeon had about 3k grafts taken.
Still have 9k left with Zarev's technique. Yours doesnt that bad but they did overharvest in the centre.
After my next surgery i can compare Zarev's technique to technique of Saifi back in 2016 & 2017

As I’m moving house and will not get a chance to replicate the same lighting/angles, I’ll provide final picture updates which are a little under 11.5 months.
Evidently there is a significant improvement from my pre-transplant days. Wearing my hair down, looks better.
However it is also noticeable that there is a severe lack of growth in the front, especially middle. And to be completely honest, I have no confidence in wearing my hair up, I will only go with it flat-down/push to the side. For any social events, toppix is must.
I did catch up with the clinic a month ago, and they have been asked me to come for an examination. However unfortunately I don’t live close and about to travel for 7 months. They did however offer me a free top-up last time we spoke.
Photos are just out of a hot shower which is why it may look red. Can’t see those now etc.
that result was not that bad at all.
very classy he offered a free 2nd procedure

@BeHappy 13:30 Zarev explains the situation kinda similar to yours with retrogade showing later in life.
Basically he says the patients who develop retrogade or advanced baldness very young likely wont have the sufficient donor area & retrogade wont be visible when young. Also medication wont work

Life happens, whose to say he will be in a financial position to fix it? Generally, repairs turn out way more expensive. They also take more time. Some repairs take 2-3 surgeries to fix.
Imagine he gets married, has a family. Do you really think his priority will be spending thousands of dollars to fix his hair? With the housing shortage, a young man his age would be lucky to afford to pay for rent. But that’s another discussion.
Only really 2-3 surgeons can fix a norwood6-7 & it will cost alot of money.
Like you can get good results wik smaller norwood levels but once your headed to nw5-7 you can only go to the very best

the hair taken from donor seems really high.
Only 34 too but hopefully ok long term

For various of reasons.
1. People are scared of linear scar and believe that FUE is scarless.
2. FUE is more popular, it is easier to perform, doesn't require so much surgical skills and thus it is loved by hairmills.
3. Clinics don't care about donor managment and patients are not educated in this subject.
Not just the scar it is more painful procedure.
I know someone who had an FUT the scar is not that bad actually but it was FAR more painful than the FUE they had after

They’re fooling themselves.
There’s obsession when the temples are barely receded but the sufferer thinks it’s detoriating the quality of their life and everyone notices it despite hiding it with long hairs. Then there’s the back of the head where suddenly the assumption is people aren’t going to notice several thousand black and white checkered pattern which is what it looks like. I guess if they have weak vision or legally blind they won’t notice.
Most people are polite and will avoid offending you. I know this because I had a full head of hair with a very small diffuse bald spot near the front of my crown and everyone I talked to would stare at my hairs during conversation. It annoyed the hell out of me and they thought I wasn’t noticing where their eyes were wandering to.
That is very likely all in your head. People would very likely not see a small diffuse spot in the crown or take very little notice of it unless you are very short in height & even at that i think this is in your head,
You are over stating no one really studies others who lose hair or are losing hair.

The white dots are so obvious and it doesn’t look good at all. It looks really bad.
Growing hairs out seems to be the only option after getting hair transplants but it’s not a bad thing. If this is a dealbreaker then people should just shave it and do SMP.
They are not abvious i have seen others will zero fade only noticeable if you look for it
when really close they are noticeable but doesnt bother me at all. You are entitled to your opinion that they look bad when very close up though.

It is noticeable, but I feel like most of our opinion is biased because we know so much about HT?
if you asked anyone that does not know you did a HT do they notice it ?
how many grafts did you get ?About 3000. 0.9 punch size is what zarev said to me.

Should I be honest or be nice?
Say whatever you feel.
I have not made the thread for feedback more so to show people what the scarring is like.
If someone isn't comfortable with scarring and thinks they may shave there head in the future a transplant isn't for them

Why would you get a hair transplant if you don't think it will work long term?
Better just get smp on top then than get a hair transplant if you think it will fail over time or if you don't want to have multiple transplants
A HT won't really thin much at all unless you have dupa hairless
Best thing is to get an in person consultation to assess your donor rather than these what ifs.

nah, im talking about telogen hair that is impossible to see without magnification
It's G on the picture :
This kind of telogen hair you can identify only after extraction, on the table with microscope. Eugenix does it.
No I saw it when I was there. Zarev has micro camera and hair quality comes up on the screen. Hair thickness hairs in telogen etc.
The attention to detail is brillant.
He knows all the details of the hair on your scalp with the micro camera photos then sets up the plan long term

It was very interesting to see this this repair work and explanation that it requires 3 procedures. The final result is stunning.
The thing about not using microscopes. He said that using 0.45 mm punch size allows him to extract single hair follicles without risk of transection. Well, i think that telogen hair have other opinion in this matter, rest in peace for them 😅
However percent of telogen hair in this strategy is low, so that is just some sacrifice for the whole process i believe.
His software tells you what percentage is in the telogen phase
Like he said to me its normal for lots of hairs behind the ears are around temple peaks to be in telogen phase its why hairs there grow slower.

Bout to shave my head in one month. Or, more accurately, Dr Zarev is going to be shaving it. Second procedure coming up. I’ll try to remember to post a pic then.
Are you going to shave the recipient area or leave it longer how it is?

The temple peaks on that patient were incredible. You see them done but they can stand out as being too thick & the transition seems very difficult to get right as well
Looking forward to getting mine restored next year. But i know he isnt aggresive with temple peaks. I remember he said im getting about 150 grafts each side so not too aggressive
