So you are saying if someone has to fake 5MG a day it is better idea to take it in splits like 2.5MG in the day and 2.5MG in the night ?
Just works out a little expensive in my part of the world 2.5MG for 30 tablets cost around $6 and 5MG also cost the same amount for 30 Tablets and if I were to consume 2 tablets from the 2.5MG bottle of would get over in 15 days so that would be like $12 a month. Versus just $6 a month for 30 tablets of 5MG !!
just get a pill cutter

Damn, that would put you at almost 14K from just the scalp. I think that would be a world record for scalp hair. You have one hell of a donor.
zarev has a case with 18k scalp grafts

Month 2 Update
Not a huge amount to share, I’m very much in the ugly-duckling phase. It is generally just growth from the first two hair transplants growing in. Positive signs for me this month, are that the donor area has seemingly recovered well, which I factored in to take longer. I did a DIY shave on the sides a couple of weeks back which certainly helped take the edge off, as it was beginning to look very untidy. Also, the redness is fading, albeit at a glacial speed.
I'll be honest, it’s all felt frustrating, mainly because I got so used to having hair and now, I’m waiting for it to grow in and for that all-important illusion of density to kick. It's all part and parcel of the ugly duckling phase but certainly can be mentally draining. In hindsight, I probably should have put a bit more consideration into doing unshaven FUE, that saying hopefully, in a couple of months, it will be all behind me.
looks great for 2months short hairstyle suits you

That’s super interesting. Do you think you could post photos? That would be an interesting case study on oral minoxidil. I have been a big proponent of OM.
Don't think he would give me permission
He has a consult with pittella soon
Quoted 4500k grafts
Zarev quoted me 2300k grafts in March 23

i do think pittella's results show the benefit of oral minox. Not that he isnt an incredible surgeon.
most of his patients are on that its worked better for me than finasteride which i was on for 2 years but had to stop.
i have a twin brother & my hair is much better than is. Before i took OM & topical minox he had a stronger crown than me now im quite a bit ahead

can't he basically cure anyone then if he can take up to 80%?
majority but not everyone with awful donors

I'm curious about that.
Say I want 4000 hairs to be transplanted. Would Zarev potentially use more grafts (because he'd use partial grafts for a more homogenised donor) than a more traditional surgeon?
So, it may take Zarev 3000 grafts opposed to 2000 grafts for another Dr?
Would the cost per hair therefore be higher with Zarev (all other things being equal)?
yeah he will take up to 80% if necessary & you donor will still look decent but need to be kept short
i saw a case of 18k scalp grafts

@GeneralNorwood you made the righ call going to Zarev
im sure he will get you fixed

will monitor this closely
its hard to read though that according to zarev even very reputable surgeons basically destroy the donor with the common extraction technique @BlueSkyDay
Yeah I would had quite a lot if grafts left
Other surgeons just cause too much damage
Really they need to fine tune the extraction
Hopefully in a few years we see more widespread improvements

@hairman22 do you mean will the hairline get thicker? Maybe a little. I’m not sure. Undetectable to anyone in person.
Just looks so thick. I might ask zarev to thicken mine a bit
Your results are incredible already

THE MARKET HAS SPOKEN
Hello!
Due to overwhelming demand for consultations and our fully booked schedule until 2027, we now offer only off-schedule consultations.
The off-schedule consultations are at the price of 900 euro. In case you want to book an off-schedule consultation, the price of the surgery will be 9 euro per graft. We will put you with highest priority on our cancellations list. In case there is an opening we will contact you accordingly. The consultation will be performed in person (we do not offer online consultation). You will be requested to pay the consultation fee only if we manage to find you an appropriate time slot for you. If you are an eligible candidate your surgery will be performed around two years after the consultation.
All communication during the consultation and surgery will be in English.
Please let us know if you would like to book an off-schedule appointment.Best regards,
ZAREV | Clinicmakes sense he would have too many patients now at 5euro per graft
where did u see that?
I do think he will have a surgeon trained in at some time hopefully

I want to thank the poster of this topic.
It caused me to do further research on FUE techniques.
I read Dr Zarev's web-page covering the 3 FUE techniques :
(1) The Latest AVA FUE (2) Previous : Motorised FUE (not vacuum assisted) (3) Original Manual FUE.
Dr Zarev makes it clear that there is only 1 winner : Vacuum assisted FUE. He believes the other 2 technqiues are not in the Patients best Interests because the damage to the donor area and grafts is unacceptably high. He states 20% to 30% of grafts are damaged. Unnecessary tissue is extracted causing additional / avoidable scarring, more trauma, longer recovery.
It is absolutely outrageous that the IAHRS allows its members to continue using the old FUE techniques.
As a result of this thread and the research it led me to do, I have cancelled my surgery for 2 April.
The Gold Standard today is Vacuum Assisted FUE (AVA / Neograft / Trevillini) performed by an IAHRS surgeon, with all the memberships, qualifications and results to back up.
These Vacuum assisted FUE devices have (1) improved graft quality, (2) reduced transections, and (3) make it easier to remove the grafts without trauma
If the surgeon does not post after surgery photos of the donor area then be suspicious. I noticed this problem with the surgeon I was dealing with.
Be very careful out there - Its an absolute minefield out there!
Great Post
Other surgeons need to step up there game in regards to the extraction of grafts
No doubt about it
