  1. 2 Month Update Looks like shedding has stopped and hairline has kinda stabilized but I have no idea if that's good or bad Is it better if all the transplanted hairs shed and they grow fresh strong? Or less shedding the better? I am continuing the same regime; 1 g Fin daily, Nizoral 3 times week, hairburst vitamins, healthy protein rich diet I see some tiny hairs sprouting in the transplanted area. Or long hair that broke off? I feel like there is some shock loss in the donor area.
  2. You're welcome. Just paying it forward in smallest ways. I think there are a bunch of folks here who are NOT on Fin including @Melvin- Moderator and @Zoomster who can guide you. However, have you tried all options to understand (is it nocebo effect?) and minimize Fin side effects (Microdosing, alternate days etc?). I believe there is no other medication that exists that's as effective as Fin (citation needed) I think the answer is forever? I'd probably rephrase and say it hasn't been proven empirically with a large sample size; and backed by scientific studies and FDA approval like Oral Fin has. In this forum you'll find so many examples of topical fin (and variations with min, dut etc mixed) working really well for people. @mustang comes to mind and so does a bunch of posts from Dr Wesley.
  3. Now their recommendation makes a little more sense. So you can't stop one without the other. And maybe the clinic doesn't want you to apply anything topical to the area a few days before surgery. You could 1. Ask them to clarify with Dr Bansal or Dr Sethi and stress that you'd like to continue Fin. And continue topical Fin OR 2. Switch to oral Fin for that time frame?
  4. Congratulations and good luck! Did the clinic ask you to stop Fin? Probably Minoxidil? It is recommended to stop Minoxidil as it works by widening blood vessels and opening potassium channels, allowing more oxygen, blood, and nutrients to the follicles. THis can cause excessive bleeding during surgery/recuperation.
  5. Yeah, perfectly normal. I had a deeper red hue (not purple, though) and it went away naturally. Stay away from any products for now on the recipient area! Specially chemical peel! For the first month or so, all i used there was saline sprays till first headwash and then distilled water + baby shampoo
  6. Anesthesia; What's the anesthesia protocol like? What do you use? Ratio of the drug to saline?
  7. Wow, Zoomster, the initial pics look stunning! Can't wait to see how this pans out! Pretty sure this guy has some heavy competition coming his way: I'm sure you've heard this before but your experience was one of the leading factors in me finally deciding to take the plunge (And pick Eugenix for my HT). Good luck!
  8. Great choice and a great hairline. Love what they have done with the no of grafts. I had mine at Eugenix as well. 2500 grafts in July by Dr Bansal and am eagerly waiting for the ugly duckling phase to be over. On meds; are you planning on getting on to Finasteride? I highly recommend it if you do not get any sides. I have been on it for the last 2 months and I see noticeable difference in thickness and crown density already! Good luck with everything and will be following your journey keenly!
  9. Congratulations, @MazAB the hairline looks immaculate! +1 on this and would love to know more... While I did have quite a few singles, they had to do the same for me in the end for the hairline.
  10. Day 45 Update Nothing much to report other than that I am counting days till this ugly duckling phase is over. It FEELS like no new transplanted grafts have shed. I did a 3mm trim with scissors and guard after 30 day; in case anyone is wondering why hair hasn't grown longer... Apologies for the glare in the latest pics; I think I might have to invest in professional equipment
  11. I had their accounts added to Remitly and Xoom and did online transfer. Had credit card as backup. I did not take cash with me but you can take upto US$ 5,000 in hand
  12. FWIW, This is exactly what I did and it was worth it. As most of the folks on this thread and forum say; Always look for the best surgeon. PERIOD. Then the location and cost. It's better to wait for the situation to improve (Travel, cash in hand) than go with the easiest option.
  13. AH, sorry. I misspoke. I went with their Super Premium package. It was INR350 per graft. Dr Bansal did: 100% Planning 100% designing 100% slits 100% Extraction Hairline and critical area implantation
  14. I did see these shared by someone else AFTER I booked. But didn't sway me much. A big chunk were employee reviews and non-surgical/transplant procedure reviews. Of the relevant ones; I trusted the non-anonymous, detailed and peer reviewed reviews on this forum more than those. During/Post; I haven't gotten anythiong other than the best service from Eugenix. Period. Of course, I may change my opinion based on how successful the procedure itself is; but that's 11 months from now
  15. Correct. They are really transparent and the details are here: https://www.eugenixglobal.com/hair-transplant-cost/ The Super Premium package (Edit: Changed from Exclusive) package that I went for is no longer in there. I would recommend reaching out to their rep(s) for more details...
  16. I agree with John! For this price you'll get amazing options in Europe!
  17. Day 30 Update As much as you read and hear about shedding and ugly duckling phase, it's a sucker punch to the gut when you see it happen in front of your eyes. As you ca see in the pic; there is widespread shedding and loss already. The front and hairline seem decimated mostly though the temples and sides are not too bad. Wanted to check with the great folks here: 1. Is this level of shedding OK? Does the extent and early onset of shedding impact results? 2. More importantly, the front left (right on photograph) there seems to clumps of high density hair which seems to have remained. Is that normal? Seems like the density there is higher from the beginning; guess it was planned? In any cse, looks bad so planning to buzz down with a 3mm guard after checking with the doctor. Regime stays the same Wash with nizoral every three days Wash with gentle shampoo or filtered water on sweating or after going out No workouts; walks and usually at dusk; always with a loose cap Lots of water (128 Oz) Hair Burst Gummies every day Collagen supplement every day Protein Supplement Every Day Protein rich diet with lots of veggies It's time for the great watch to begin...
  18. As you pointed out rightly, 1 month is super early to decide on a corrective procedure. Unless it was bothced up badly. Even then, the surgeo who did this should be held accountable and most of them do. I HIGHLY recommend that you share the pics on the forum on a separate thread and get the experts to weigh in. FWIW. Here's my experience from last month: Also, answered a bunch of questions on travel and logistics here:
  19. 3 Months for a consultation slot and 8-10 Months for a surgery slot seem to be on par for most of the US Surgeons I checked with while evaluating my options. The surgery timeline was reduced due to Covid but I expect that to bloat up more. This is because they do the surgeries end to end and usually one a day (Which is a great thing!) so leaves less time for consultations AND longer wait times for surgery slots.
  20. Thanks. Yeah, I feel like that as well. The great plus is that whoever seen me (On video as I am working remote still) thought I was rocking a summer cut. Plan to keep buzzing it close till month 5 Donor seems pretty well healed with some areas still sore/raw. I buzzed (just the donor) it close to see if there's any visible scarring but looks like it's pretty good. See for yourself (RED is recipient and Green Donor)
  21. Great write up! Looks like you checked most of the prep boxes; took your time, did the research, stabilized hair and picked the right doctor! Now it's all about trust and patience Looking forward to a fellow Eugenixian's progress! I got mine done July 18th
  22. A quick Day 15 update. No major shedding yet, Washing alternate days with Johnson's baby shampoo and distilled water. I did see 20-30 hairs today (No roots, thankfully) Looks like I am easing into the dreaded ugly duckling phase... Current Regime (From Day 8 onwards Finasteride 1 Mg per day Hairburst Supplement with Zinc, Biotin ad other good stuff Collagen Supplement Protein Supplement (On days when i feel my intake is low) Good diet with lot of leafy vegetables for Zinc The donor area is a little sensitve in some places. And the recipient still feels numb overall; guess it's par for the course for Day 15?
  23. Following your progress, Adil. I'm on Week 2 after surgery from Eugenix Delhi. Good luck!
  24. It was 0.9 mm and 0.7 mm; based on hair thickness.
