  1. dionysos, I had improvement past 6 months It seemed to take forever before i felt happy with the coverage. deg i was lucky as i have to wear hats at work so i kept pretty much covered for most of the time , either way its worth it in the end , on reflection id rather go through with it than be back to how my hair was
  2. yes gman your right , it was a good choice , yours is a fantastic result its been great watching it unfold, you are right when you say its liberating , im not on the meds they didnt agree with me but your right looking at the back there is a good supply so i will wait to see how it goes , thanks for your support and all the best for you in the future.
  3. more pics thanks to this forum for all the valuable information it offers
  4. very happy with results for first procedure , happy enough to not bother with a second pass , im older and this is a more natural look for me. I am happy enough to go out without hats all the time and ive been to the hairdressers for the first time in 16 years. Its been tough but im so glad i did it , I feel totally different about myself . So glad I went with dr demisroy , the same result would have cost double elsewhere, and would not have been any different from what I know now. I have taken the first few pics to show the hair in most unforgiving light, wet and from above. I wear no products at all , in normal lighting it looks great but like most can suffer a bit if strong light is shining directly from above if i was being critical.
  5. Hi heres an update for you , I am now 2 weeks off 6 months so 5 and a half months post , i am now happy to go around without a hat , i have a hairline unlike before although not perfect yet with density, i do believe it is a big cosmetic improvement . It is too early to judge as i have a long time left yet for improvement but so far im happy with the results. I have tried to show my hair in different lights as in normal light it looks good , sometimes i catch myself with strong light from directly above and i can see where its thin but it seems to be improving , as i say early days yet according to the normal time frame 12 to 18 months before final judgement. I hope i am right but im sure i have read that i should experience more growth even after 6 months which if it happens will be great . The new hair at the moment is wispy and difficult to style but it looks good with a bit of gel in it but ive read this also thickens and gets coarser. as i said before i was very happy with dr demisroy and his team , unlike a lot of other drs he does most of the work himself all the extractions and incisions they all worked extremely hard . Hopefully even more hair to come good luck with your HT
  6. gman thanks for the update coming along great for 6 months , lots of time left for thickening and maturing but even now a good cosmetic improvement compared to before. i keep using the clippers on mine down to a grade 2 , i can see growth coming through but obviously its not gonna cover much but its coming through nicely. im so far glad i went through with it but ill wait until the end result before my final judgement bb
  7. Why would you stay in the uk when you could get double the number of grafts for nearly half that price , the uk dosn't necessarily offer the best treatment or surgeon ? personally I think the Uk as usual is overpriced and the standards are for sure no better than the good places abroad. Shop around and get the best bang for your buck in Europe bb
  8. my experience was fine , Istanbul is very vibrant and busy and i didnt feel under threat and that was when there had not long been some trouble there. basically the time out wondering around is up to you , i just stayed at the hotel , had the HT stayed another day and then traveled back no problem really. hairs coming along fine , im just coming out of the ugly duckling phase have a look at my thread for details ill be updating soon
  9. Hi guys thanks for the responses its 3 months 1 week as you can see im keeping my hair short at about a grade 2 all over this gives me a chance to see whats happening and keep everything even although its not good for early confidence as i would have more coverage if i let it grow ive posted a pic which was in natural daylight , i can see it coming through but some areas are weak at the moment like the temples and a patch at the very front but hopefully this will all catch up ? its the waiting game now I dont know if the results so far are good for 3 months or not ? but everyones different gman im very impressed with your results and i think yours was better than mine at 3 months but your hair is thicker and darker and a better texture for coverage, if mine gets to be as good as yours is now ill be more than happy you are right hairshopeing i need to patient its early days and i should be thankful im seeing some growth ill post again at 4 months
  10. hi well its 3 months today and i must say its been tough , some of the redness still lurks but to be honest i think that is because of some spots ive been getting which is fairly common at this stage (i hope) anyway i have been treating them with a mild antiseptic which seems to help. ive kept my hair short so i can see exactly whats going on, i keep taking it back to a grade 2 all over roughly and i have stopped wearing hats in public and not many people have commented as i used to shave it down before. only comment i had was on the redness which i said was a skin reaction. I can see some hair poking through its sparse at the moment which worries me , but as i read everywhere i need to be patient and not panic. the hair is very fine and hard to see but at certain angles i can see lots of tiny ones poking through but it is coming through unevenly. Im going to try to not focus on it too much as i will only panic , ill judge this more after 6 months which hopefully by then i will have more of a cosmetic improvement. hopefully better things to come in the coming months bb photos not uploading so ill try later
  11. getting better slowly marek improvements should come each month now dont forget you wont even be half way until you reach 6 months happy growing bb
  12. best of luck dolph keep positive , its real tough now , im 11 weeks and been through it . im just starting to get some baby type hairs poke through so things are begging to happen for me at last but im still nervous about the result and really wont know until months down the line so must keep positive. bb
  13. gman looking at the before and after 5 months pics are like night and day , remember you still are less than halfway im really pleased for you and I look forward to the coming months. its still hard for me at the moment to believe the same will happen to me im 2 and a half months now and still have less hair than before the op with shedding and some shockloss. thanks for taking the time to update your post bb
  14. Brilliant result and thanks for sharing, it gives me hope to hear from you as I too had 3400 grafts with Dr demisroy and I am currently in the ugly duckling phase with all my transplanted hair shed so great great news if mine is anything near your result I will be over the moon . Bb
  15. its filling in nicely ,I bet by 8 months its going to look great , all my grafts have fallen out well almost all so im right in the middle of ugly duckling stage . thank for the update
  16. thats coming on nicely gman for four months , your hairlines starting to thicken up and over the next few months its going to thicken , which part are you considering smp for ? when you say on top do you mean towards the crown area ? happy growing bb
  17. yep id say 98% of mines gone justlax too ive got my fingers crossed bb
  18. Hi I flew on the 2nd day after a 3400 fue and I had bad swelling, in a way I wish id of either flew the next day after the op or waited around week . My face was swollen badly around the head eyes and nose . Luckily in Turkey they must be used to it because at security I took my hat off and they quickly looked me over and that was it . But I was so stressed as I looked like a freak I even hid in the toilet for an hour or so waiting for the plane but maybe thats me over reacting but my wife was shocked when she picked me up from the airport. It took about a week for me to look normal again . bb
  19. ok im a month post op , well what can i say I was expecting it but its still hard to handle , im in the dreaded ugly duckling stage. Ive lost most of my transplanted hair it started coming out after 10 days or so which i believe is early ? it seems to have slowed down now as i do not notice much hair in the sink , ( i wash my hair daily with a gentle shampoo) I think too that what was left of my forelock has thinned , its coming through but its obviously alot thinner , i am concerned that i may lose even more from shock loss or start loosing from the donor which would be a nightmare. I hope that it is not permanent. I think the back and sides look ok , i can see a hint of it being thinner and slightly red in certain light but no one seems to notice. I did clipper it to a grade 1, 2 weeks ago to even things out and i will do the same again today . Apart from having less hair than before the main thing that bothers me is the redness, to me it stands out and would attract attention . I am one of the unlucky ones where i think its going to be here for months I have been experimenting with ways of concealing it and my wife tried some of her mineral make up on it and I was amazed how it hid it , at the moment i wear a hat to work but if i needed to go where i would have to remove it I would use the mineral stuff . My plan at the moment is to keep everything as short as possible so i will clipper (not shave) it down as low as it will take it , until everything starts to grow out even . I have shaved my head before so people are used to me with cropped hair. I still get the odd tingle/ itch in the donor area and i have had a few spots in the recipient which i think is mild folliculitis , I have been using an antiseptic iodine solution that the dr gave me , I also have kept on with the antibiotic as im prone to spots anyway. so roll on the next few months
  20. Dutchie who knows, it's hard to tell whether it's speeding it up or not as it's still red but it has faded I'm 4 weeks post ht
  21. I've had a couple of spots on my left temple area it's supposedly normal after ht I've treated it with the antiseptic cream Dr gave me and I gave been told to report back in a week, unfortunately I've had early shedding I'd say nearly all the grafted hairs are gone and some of my original hair has thinned at the forelock I look much worse especially with the redness. I've been washing my hair everyday.
  22. crikey its changing fast gman its really starting to fill , im glad to see it too as im bald red and got a few spots WTF
  23. Hi justlax I'm 4 weeks this Friday and although my redness has faded its still there and noticeable. I have Numbness in the recipient area still it feels odd if lift my eyebrows up and down, if you know what I mean. It's a strange feeling but normal, this will take time to heal. My concern is I've lost most of my transplanted hair and I think some of my original hair has thinned from the forelock I had I look much worse. I've also had a couple of troublesome spots which are going now I hope they have not affected my grafts. I'm sure your fine everything is normal it's just going to be though through the next stages. Only good thing for me I don't see as many hairs in the sink now but then I havnt got many left lol. I'll update my post with pics Friday. Bb
  24. Hi I dont know about seeing the roots in the scalp ? but as for the shedding , im 4 weeks post op friday and ive lost most of my grafts , the temples are bald now and its thin at the front too , so im hoping this is normal for some . bb
  25. that looks like a hair with a piece of scab , quite normal as long as you have no bleeding. It is assumed that the bulb of the graft is still in place so dont worry but by all means check with your doc
