Best Hair Transplant Doctor in NY/NJ ?
bunsenburner replied to mrkellymac10's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Mrkellymac: Was your previous procedure FUE or FUT? I did not see this information before. Which are you considering now? -
Spex (and Dr Lindsey): So the healing scabbed areas represent where the M-FUE procedure was performed? How many follicle unit grafts were removed from each M-FUE extraction? Dr Bloxham told me he averages around 45 in patients who have not had previous surgery. Is this consistent with your (Dr Lindsey) results? I'm impressed by the amount of scarring left after removing this many follicle unit grafts at once.

Best Hair Transplant Doctor in NY/NJ ?
bunsenburner replied to mrkellymac10's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
MrKelly: I agree with the posters recommending Dr Feller (or Feller & Bloxham) in the New York/New Jersey area. I understand the sentiment behind traveling to receive the best result, but that doesn't mean you must travel if you are fortunate enough to have an expert clinic in your area. With Feller this close, I think this applies. I consulted with both Dr Feller and Dr Bloxham a few months ago. I actually spoke with Dr Bloxham for probably 30 minutes and he showed me around the clinic too. A patient having an FUT surgery that day even consented to let me peek in one of the procedure rooms, and Dr Bloxham explained what was occurring as the technicians were implanting follicles. Everything about the operation is expert level. I can't imagine it being much different at other top FUT clinics. If my experience was different, I would likely advise traveling too. However, the idea of a flight after surgery is becoming less appealing to me the more research I do. And it would be ideal to go to one of the well established clinics (like Dr Konior/Chicago Hair Institute, Hasson & Wong) without extensive travel. I believe Feller & Bloxham offer North-Eastern US patients this opportunity. I'm still researching myself, but I wanted to share my thoughts. I do hope you are able to find a clinic that fits your needs. -
FUT is more popular than FUE
bunsenburner replied to Dr. Alan Feller's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Mikeey: Well said. -
Julien: Fascinating insight into your journey. I hope everything grows properly this time around. I find the "M-FUE" approach quite interesting. I had an extensive conversation with Dr Bloxham about the technique when I consulted with him and Dr Feller in December. He's obviously passionate about it, and (to me) it makes a lot of sense. However, both doctors agreed with my desire to use FUT. But I would consider M-FUE at a later time if I needed further work.

3800 grafts/fut With Dr Ali Karadeniz
bunsenburner replied to mosd's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Mosd: Great write-up. These kinds of presentations are very helpful to others researching a hair transplant. The work looks neat and proper too. I'm not too familiar with Dr Karadeniz, but his FUT skills appear refined. I agree with your decision to have the FUT technique too. I considered both myself and came to the same conclusion. I will follow your thread closely and truly look forward to updated postings. -
Matt: Congratulations. The transplant is growing flawlessly. A definite testament to Dr Konior's approach.

12 months on finasteride :)
bunsenburner replied to thatoldchestnut's topic in Open Hair Loss Topics
Impressive. Excellent documentation and presentation as well. Thank you for posting. -
My personal research (and I'm a biomedical researcher by profession) has led me to the conclusion that FUT is simply the more consistent procedure. Reducing the amount of variability and utilizing the more reproducible technique should maximize one's chances at a successful result in the end. This is the way I look at it at least. Thought it may be helpful for you too.

4,200 grafts FUT dr. Hasson Feb. 03, 2016
bunsenburner replied to Dutchie's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Dutchie: Congratulations. The work looks neat and clean. Dr Hasson's FUT methods are quite refined. I'm eager to see the new growth. -
Another interesting presentation. The explanation of how and why the "frizz" normalizes as the results mature makes sense. It is worth mentioning that the patient has undergone a substantial transformation as well. I suspect it will look even more impressive after the most recent surgery matures too. Updates would be appreciated. Great work.

Excellent transformation. I especially liked the "comb through" video. Great way to document the results (which is particularly helpful for researching patients). I recall reading this patient's original thread, and it is great to see how well everything turned out in the end. Great work. Thank you for sharing.

Dr Hasson 660 hairline grafts update
bunsenburner replied to Aftermath's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Aftermath: Precisely. Consistency is one of the biggest deciding factors for me as well. I have seen some very impressive and flashy results from the other doctors mentioned; however, I've also seen some very aggressive approaches that resulted in poor results too. The FUT doctors on my current list consistently deliver. Congratulations again. -
Dr Hasson 660 hairline grafts update
bunsenburner replied to Aftermath's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Aftermath: Thank you. I'm still in the researching and early consulting phase, but very impressed with the work of each of those listed. I won't add any more, but will, unfortunately, need to remove all but one in time. -
