  1. jsnw, at 3.5 months I still look obvious, in part because I've been buzzing my hair #4 blade and now that my new hair is sprouting the change in density is obvious. I've decided to grow it to a normal length now and see where it lands. So far no worrying signs that I'm not on track.
  2. Congrats jsnw, Your amazing results we're an contributing factor to my decision to also choose Asmed/Erdogan. I'm a little over 3 months, and getting excited!
  3. thatldchesnut, HT-FUE & Spidey, thanks for the kinds words on encouragement. I'm really starting to get excited now the sprouts are coming through.
  4. Hi Garageland, I agree, dense packing was a major contributor to my ongoing redness. 3 months later and still somewhat visible! Raman! By the sounds of it we are tracking very closely, and hopefully on track for a 4 month result like HT-FUE's. I'll be keeping an eye out for your pics! quackhairny, Yes, 17 years of almost zero progression on Finasteride did give the confidence to aggressively restore my hairline. That said, I'm aware future procedures would be required if my hair loss progress super slowly throughout my forties, fifties, sixties... so I'll be extra diligent on the Finasteride for the next 17 years. HT-FUE, I'm seeing heaps of sprouts. I have my fingers crossed that I can keep pace with your amazing 4 month check-point! Vpac, Donor has been a non-issue for me. It was undetectable about a week after the procedure. I'll post a donor pic at 5 months. Yes, the HT is obvious and disguising is a nightmare. My look got worse by the day up until the 2 month mark, then gradually improved every day since. I'll need another month or more before I lose my peculiar look. People at work know something has happened but I just put it form my mind and go about my business, and people don't think to ask. I've gotten this far without admitting to it and will not be giving the game away now that I'm through the worst of it. Make sure you have a cap for all social occasions, and definitely no photos without the cap!
  5. Thanks for posting your honest experience and photos Dzl210, no doubt someone will see it and think again before proceeding with Colorado Hair Institute. This site works best when members have the courage to post final results, both good and bad.
  6. I have lots of hair sprouting & hope I'm right on track for where I should be at 3 months. One temple is still weak compared to the rest. Other than that I have a very light, even coverage over my previously receded hairline. The redness only recently faded away.
  7. HT-FUE, I'm still in the duckling phase but looking a little bit better than I did a 2 months. I've had some early regrowth start sprouting and hopefully I'm looking improved by 3 month update in under 2 weeks. Raman, you about 2 weeks in front of me- how is your progress at 3 months?
  8. Hi HT-FUE, I was thinking the other day you must be due for an update sometime soon - and you certainly haven't disappointed! You've commented your temples are thin, but I can't even spot it- I'd be super happy to look as good as you at my 4 month check-point. Congrats on an amazing month of growth!
  9. A bit blurry - but the hairline is looking good. Congrats.
  10. Thanks for coming back to the forum Mikey. We have it hard finding a decent HT in Australia and your update helps other members be aware of potential regret.
  11. I had the same thing at one month. At the time I wondered had those just visible hairs simply not survived the transplant and stayed an identical length since the op, or were they the first signs of growth? I'm 2.5 months now and I think they either shed or grew in the past 6 weeks, but I'm not sure which.
  12. Hi mosd, I agree, for caucasians '2 weeks and you'll be presentable' is plain ridiculous. 2 months would be a better guide, and even then you'd be pushing it. I'll need until to month 3 at least. That said, I'm glad I didn't know in advance how long the red would last or I would never have gone through with it. I've now cut my hair- buzzed number 5 on top and number 2 back and sides. It looks better a bit shorter and I'll keep it this length (or shorter) until I have enough grafts regrown for a regular haircut. Ersko
  13. Hey, that was a great fast forward update. You're looking great for 4 months!
  14. Hey Born2Shine. We are own worst critic and find major fault in minor detail. Updated pics would be great so we can see how you are travelling and verify if the difference between left and right is overly noticeable. Either way, 6 months is still early. Keep us posted.
  15. The bad news: I'm still noticeably red. The good news: 15-20% of the grafts have hung on and I've experienced zero shock-loss of my native hair. I'm hopeful the red will have faded enough by my month 3 checkpoint that I can resume social activities without a cap. Overall, I'm feeling positive that some grafts survived the shed and the end of the duck phase is finally in sight.
  16. Spidey - even if see nothing further you look great, congrats on an amazing 6 month checkpoint. I remember some earlier comments saying you were crazy to try FUE with an unproven H&W. You are testament they can do a great job.
  17. Thanks for the update Johnny. I'm from Sydney and had my Asmed procedure just 3 weeks after you. I don't think I've seen any regrowth yet, so I was very interested to read you had a total shed then had heaps of early regrowth so soon after. Congrats on your progress!
  18. Hey Mav, Congrats on making it to one month. I'm tracking a few weeks in front of you and will keeping an eye out for your next update in a few months.
  19. Hi Alessio - I recall meeting you at my daily washings at Asmed in early December. You were happy to show your progress and have it inspected by patients, so I got a pretty good look. That was just 6 weeks ago and you have had massive growth since - congrats!
  20. Thanks for the comment HT-FUE. I'm going well, My shed has progressed very slow compared to yours. I'm almost 6 weeks and the last 25-30% of my grafts are still hanging on. The rate of shed has slowed, but not stopped. I expect the majority of stragglers to vacate by week 8. My redness has been awful, but I've been using excuses and hats to live life normally.
  21. Yay HT-FUE- you made it to the end of the ugly duckling phase. I am supremely jealous of the head start you have on me!! Comparing the 2 and 3 month shots you certainly have growth. Also, your pics are great resolution and I was able to zoom in and see you have stacks sprouting through. Congrats and I can't wait to see your 4 month update!
  22. @templeloss, I wasn't done at 10 days either, On Day 10 I applied a bit more pressure any my first 10 grafts shed. That put me off so I waited to Day 12 and soaked my head throughly before gently tacking all remaining scales with my fingernails. It took about an hour, but went well and I was scab free at the end of it. @Stig, thanks for the suggestion - I'll run with it! @Raman - It sounds like I am in progressing identically to you, with a 2 week lag. I hope I'm also lucky enough to have some stubble make it through the next week or two, it would be a massive boost to have some early confirmed survivors! It's great to hear from another Sydneysider on here - small world!
  23. My shedding has been steady for the past 2 weeks, and I estimate I've shed 60% of my grafts so far. It hasn't eased up yet, so I'm expecting a full shed by the end of it. Going into the HT, I had imagined shedding faster and being able to conceal the redness with make-up or something for my return to work..no such luck. I'm in limbo with too many remaining grafts to disguise the red. I've been back at work for a week already and the sunburn story is wearing thin. Any tips on how to handle the situation most appreciated! Things seem to be tracking as they should. The only thing I'm a bit bothered by is some grafts growing slower than others; some finer hairs have grown so slowly they are not much more than stubble.
  24. That's amazing for 5 months Spidey. A home run already, congrats!
