  1. Both extraction and insertion went at high pace, but not at all rushing. I was impressed at how well-versed and professional the technicians were. I can't tell if they only worked on me, I think so but I was too sedated and shocked from the procedure to notice everything. I know they came in and out for breaks. You can ask them and find out.
  2. You're right, my bad, neither of them is recommended by the HRN. I know I will sound heretical now, but I don't see that much advantage in having a surgeon perform all, or some, steps of HT. First, I'd rather have more qualified persons doing the work to avoid fatigue, and second, the anatomy of HT is pretty basic and I think a well-trained technician is as good as a doctor. That said, a surgeon must be present at all times, of course.
  3. The difference is, of course, that Dr. Demirsoy is recommended by this community, but I am happy I went with Dr. Maral. I cannot give you my final opinion because I am only 4+ months post-op and I am still waiting for my results to fully mature, but I have been very satisfied with everything so far. Of course, it's up to you to make your decision. I was considering Dr. Demirsoy, but his associate's emails sounded somewhat dismissive. He first replied he cannot treat me because I wouldn't have satisfying results. When I said that I had limited expectations, he said I should not expect more than 3000-3500 grafts and that only my "front and maybe slightly the top" could be treated. It really sounded like they didn't want to have me as a patient so I didn't pursue it any further.
  4. Congratulations on your growth! I really think you should also consider hair loss medication.
  5. 1) You'd need a top surgeon. Temple points are tricky to reconstruct and every mistake is there to stay, visible from all angles. 2) IMHO you shouldn't do a hair transplant. Your hair looks great, and it's just not worth the risks. Let me elaborate: you don't know what will happen to your hair in 10, 20, or 30 years. I cannot imagine a more awkward thing than triangular spots of hair on your temples with receding hairline behind (which happens to many men as they age even though they don't suffer from male pattern baldness). My main point: your hair looks great.
  6. He's not charging per graft, but per procedure. Why don't you send them an inquiry?
  7. Don't limit yourself to the US. Some of the best doctors are elsewhere. Plus, travel is no big deal after HT.
  8. Turkey is the place to go. There are over 40 HT clinics in Istanbul only, and their prices are great.
  9. From what I've seen on this forum and elsewhere on the web, and from my own experience, the answer is--it varies. The transplanted hair should be in the early phases of growing, but there is no way to tell but wait
  10. Of all the things you mentioned, I would ditch Nizoral first and see what happens. The other two never seem to cause serious damage (I just had a shed with Finasteride so I know how it can make you freak out, but it stopped after a few days). Of course, this would be a good time to consult a specialist or some of the HT doctors. Hopefully some of them will see your topic.
  11. Foam does add volume, and it dries fast, which is great. I don't see it as a hassle, once you get used to doing it regularly it's really a no brainer. It works great for short hair, I don't know about longer hair because it tends to attach to hairs and perhaps liquid is better for longer hair. I did have noticeable results with Rogaine foam. I'd say 10% in overall density and added volume almost all over the scalp, but particularly on the crown. Of course it works best in early stages of hair loss, so it's something to keep in mind. I usually find 3-month pack on sales for $35-$40 so I still didn't try switching to generic, but maybe I will.
  12. I'm not sure about pubic hair, I would not exclude FUT especially since you already have a scar. Have you consulted other doctors? Their estimates about available grafts can vary, and 1000 FUE grafts is not set in stone.
  13. That.looks.amazing. You also did SMP with H&W, right? How much do they charge?
  14. Hi there, I have also uploaded images on the thread I opened (link below). I am satisfied so far, but still waiting to see how it will all turn out. If you want, take a look and tell me what you think.
  15. To each their own. One is for sure: even if you don't care about scar, you will want only the very top surgeon to cut the back of your head in half.
  16. Don't get me wrong, but I think you should ask him before you post here.
  17. I paid in cash. That's also the most economical way and I'm sure every clinic will prefer euros over liras.
  18. What tells you he doesn't do the temple points? I think it might depend on the particular case.
  19. I don't know about Dr. Demirsoy, but the temple points seem to be very tricky to reconstruct because the grafts are lined almost horizontally and the roots are exposed so even the slightest pitting/cobblestoning is very visible. I think the risk might be too high in most cases.
  20. I am terribly sorry for you man. That is why it is important to get as much information as you can. Most plastic surgeons will never issue a refund, except under court order (and that takes years).
  21. It is basically a laser comb multiplied and distributed underneath a helmet so your hands don't go off from fatigue. I don't know if it works, $900 is too much to experiment.
  22. In about than a month after taking Finasteride, I feel signs of depression kicking in. I do have a lot of stress lately so I cannot be 100% sure it is from Finasteride, but I never responded to stress with this much passivity, dark moods, and overall lack of energy. I lost morning erection and sex drive is slightly lower, but no erectile dysfunction so far. The depressive symptoms bother me the most.
