  1. Honestly I'm not clear about what is meant by that. Does he mean that he will supplement any potential lower number of grafts with BH? I can testify that they were not shy about the extraction, I got the impression they got as much as they could.
  2. You have got to be kidding me. How did you find out? Does "around Buffalo" means Boston? Does it apply to foam too?
  3. Wow, I'm the primary example Yes, I was going to say--you have more hair now than I had pre-op, there is definitely hope! Just be realistic and do your research. Good luck!
  4. I am reluctant to read, let alone take seriously, posters who use that much exclamation points and that little paragraph breaks.
  5. I would wait at least two weeks (I waited a month). The incisions need to heal first.
  6. What do you guys do about direct questions from people you'd rather not tell? I once said I used medications (distant family member). On another occasion I just said I had a minor procedure (an acquaintance, but a nice guy). The thing was, I didn't want to see HT as a stigma. Should I better not risk it and just tell I'm on meds? I now regret telling anyone except my closest family and friends.
  7. Thanks for this! It made me feel much better. I hate the fact that there is such a taboo about HT. What's the big deal? Everyone has the right to want to improve their looks. No one anywhere would object to fixing your teeth and whitening them, or going to the gym.
  8. I would also go for 2 weeks. Scabs go off around day 10-11, so anything earlier might be a problem. I don't know about the strip scar, I had FUE, but I assume it might take a couple of more days to recover. In any case, take it very easy.
  9. Alright, you did your surgery, the hair grew in, you learned how to apply concealers and suddenly you went from "horseshoe NW7" to "not-bald-anymore." Your friends and family are supportive. You look in the mirror and you are very happy. And then you realize you'll need to meet old professional acquaintances, distant relatives or high school friends (who saw your Facebook pictures) and to appear in front of them with your newly acquired hair. What do you do? I chose this time of my life to do HT because I was moving from one phase to another, leaving from the place I was living and I figured out the new people I meet will not know me without hair. I never thought through the old Facebook images and generally my bald life ( ) and how drastic the change will be  Advise, please
  10. I've been through the Turkish airport control with my hat on--just tell them you had a minor surgery. I even overheard ladies at the desk saying to each other "sach ekim" (hair transplant), but they didn't look judgmental and anyway who cares. One thing is for sure: you'll be drowsy from the anesthetics and in a post-op shock and it is not a good idea to drive in such condition. Plane + cab is the way to go.
  11. This looks incredible. His scar is practically invisible and the results are astonishing. Congratulations Dr!
  12. I had no idea a doctor can be banned from here, so that even his name gets erased. What did he do, hit a patient?
  13. Dermmatch is basically a paint for the scalp. Unless you have enough hair to mix with it and cover it, the result will be very unnatural and visible. Nanogen also needs hairs to attach to, otherwise it falls through to the scalp and looks like ugly spots of dirt. People tend to be overly positive when they use concealers, and unfortunately they often don't realize that 1) the use of concealers must be very discrete to be effective 2) other people are generally very judgmental when they notice makeup in your hair. I'd say it bears a greater stigma than a hairpiece. IMO one month post op you'd be better off to just go out without wearing anything than to use concealers. That said, you can of course get some and experiment a bit and see for yourself.
  14. Oh, now I see what you mean *sigh of relief* Yes, seeing some previous patients to have concerns about density (although not too grave I think), I came to check my grafts twice a day. But let's wait and see. It is true that the grafts shouldn't be too close, for obvious reasons. I also think it all depends on your hair thickness, scalp contrast, etc.
  15. Hat I'd say. I don't see what a concealer would attach to before your hair grows in. Unless you want absolutely everyone to know you are using a concealer.
  16. Looks great so far, no pitting/cobble-stoning, nice hairline. You freaked me out a bit with that "poor hair transplant surgery" thing, what do you mean?
  17. Doctor should make no issue about Finasteride, as long as s/he adds "take 1/5th daily." Everything still looks great!
  18. I don't think it looks thin, I'd say you have overall fine hair. When you put gel on, there is no difference between the recipient area and the rest of your hair. I'd be very happy if I were you. In fact it was your case that convinced me to go with Dr. Maral. Congratulations on your growth!
  19. Great grandfather > grandfather > father > me. All NW 6. Actually I'm the worst, without meds my head was NW7. Everyone with strong beautiful hair on my mother's side, not even going grey until their late 60s.
  20. Just google "Maral hair klinik" (with a k) and you'll get to their page.
  21. What I meant was, I can't tell if each technician worked only on me, i.e., whether they split in two teams or the team moves between the patients. Yes there was another guy, Dr. Maral told me they can accommodate up to three patients per day. Glad that you read my posts so carefully
