It does look bad. Mostly because there is no scalp showing in the part. Good quality lace front wigs usually create the illusion of scalp.

Virtually unchanged. I agree it was a lot of surface area. STILL, I have seen other cases with a similar severity of balding and there was significantly more yield than this case presented here. What's with the rash of terrible results from a few forgotten clinics on here?

yep... just gotta tough it out. I was going through all the emotions post surgery. I had ridiculous shockloss. I'm not talking about the transplanted hairs falling out, which is expected. A lot of my native hair in the hairline fell out and I looked BALDER post surgery. It was a very rough initial 3 months. Eventually everything did recover, thank God, and luckily I do not think I had any permanent shockloss of the weaker hair in my hairline.

Not surprising since they advise women not to use the 5% kind because of possible facial hair growth. Question though, have you noticed any puffiness or swelling in the face?

OMG, the pricing break down is just pure comedy. So they rationalize that since they are charging $3 per graft and use larger mini-grafts, in essense you are getting more hair per graft than another clinic which also charges $3 per graft with only 1-2 follicular units. I guess that's one way to spin it. I guess they don't understand the point of using smaller grafts is not to cheat the customer out of hair, but to create a natural looking hairline.

OP I'm glad you acted quickly and are documenting this with your credit card company. I have no doubt that ANY legitimate surgeon on this forum would agree that this was a hack job.

I think the guy's screenname on here is TygerD..... maybe message him and ask for advice on how to go about this.... Frankly, this is such a clear cut case of malpractice, I think your credit card company will side with you.

I've thought about this too. Since a hair transplant is essentially creating an illusion of hair, why can't you take it one step further and do a transplant and hair piece combo. Couldn't one conceivably implant densely at the hairline and wear a VERY well made piece behind it?

Yes it's pretty mean spirited, but dude it's an awful piece. The super low hairline, middle part, and density just screams hairpiece. If he chose a more aesthetically believable piece, it would look so much better and wouldn't draw so much attention. Example : Ben Affleck wears a piece, but the difference is that it's believable.

Well, from my experience, I've been taking finasteride for at least 5 years and it really didn't do much in the way of "protecting" my hair from shockloss post surgery. I know a lot of physicians repeat that line, but honestly it seems like total conjecture and I have not seen real evidence that it does protect from shockloss. If anything, the skill of the surgeon is probably a bigger determinant of post procedure shockloss, because bad technique and overly aggressive handling will cause more trauma and shockloss. And by shockloss, I mean real shockloss of the native hair in the recipient area, not the falling out of transplanted grafts (which is expected).

Wow man..... You seriously did your due diligence on this? So many things wrong with this whole thing. The RN did this transplant? Is this even legal considering anytime an incision is made it is considered a surgical procedure and must be carried out by a doctor? I don't want to make you feel worse, but honestly this is simply archaic, and I am shocked that kind of hair transplantation still exists. You really need to document this well, because this is beyond the pale. Legally, they will probably do everything to stonewall you. There may be some hope to get your money back though. I do recall another dude on here who got a terrible transplant and showed the documentation of the bad procedure to his credit card company, and he got his money back. There may be a way to fight this charge if a credit card was used. If anything, this serves to remind newbies that even if you think you've done your due diligence, a little bit more research can't hurt. As much as it's marketed as a non-invasive procedure nowadays, this is still real surgery folks!

Are you familiar with how a hair transplant works? It's essentially rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. You're just moving stuff around and creating an illusion of a full head of hair. Like another poster mentioned, when it becomes possible to clone hair follicles then you might have the ability for full restoration.

Hmmm... I agree.... I would clock this as a hair transplant in a face to face conversation. A little too straight and perfect. You would expect a guy with an intentional slightly receding corners look to have a hairline that is not perfectly dense.

Actually, if anything, the doctor's advice cleared up one thing.... Go to a different doctor. I have never heard such pseudo-science.

This is at 6 months? Very impressive early results. The hairline design is artistic and aggressive, yet totally believable.
