  7. Great right up! Interesting and honest read! You seem like a very ethical surgeon and importantly a nice guy as well!
  8. Hey m8, I can fully understand where your coming from, and although you say you wouldn't be bothered by your hairloss if in a relationship or married etc I think you'd probably find that wouldn't be the case! Mine started to recede pretty rapidly at 18 -22 and at the time I had long hair, never been thick hair like some of my friends had but ok! At them times I did really well with women, never had a problem pulling in bars or clubs and always with nice looking girls!! However inside I was always self conscious of my hair situation nicely helped out by my bunch of piss taking mates telling me in 2 years time your gonna be bald!!! But I'd laugh it off and just remind them who once again had pulled and who hadn't! This sort of gives u qdos in group of mates, rightly or wrongly lads look up to the guy who gets the most girls!!! At 22 I shaved my head, and kept it like that for 4 to 5 years, down to a grade 1 on occasions and still the piss taking and constant reminders came!!! But so to did the girls!!! I settled down at about 25 to 26 with my now wife and am very happily married with 2 children, and my hair is pretty much the same as when I was 22 and I'm now 37,I stopped shaving my head when I was about 26 and now just have normal length hair! Obviously now I don't go pulling young girls in bars anymore, but I'm sure if I was put back in that situation I probably could!!! The reason being,I was never the best looking guy in my group, some of my friends are very good looking lads and have always had thick full heads of hair, but I was the funniest, and to other people the most confident,so yeah I had to work harder than some of my other friends might of but would always be more successful then them!!! What girls like in a guy is confidence, simple, someone who's not arrogant but confident and funny!!! Confidence can either be there or be portrayed,I was and am still not overly confident due to hairless problems but have the ability to potray that I am super confident as I have done for the last 15 years!!! What you have got to accept is no one and I mean no one gets every girl them want or try to,but u gotta take the knock backs and just think there loss, and if it's because of your hairloss then they don't deserve your time of day anyway!!! I agree that bars and defiantly clubs are not the best way to meet women these days, gyms, shopping, friends of friends and everyday life is probably going to be the best way to meet someone, just get chatting wherever you see someone you like never mind how random it may be and try and be upbeat, confident and funny even if inside you may not feel that way! Girls like guys who are or are having fun!!! So if as you say, your quite happy with your hair situation or even if your not,try and have fun and believe me you will get your pick of the single available girls!! Not all of them, but a good majority!!! Being married to my beautiful wife and having 2 fantastic kids makes me happy, but my hair situation makes me as sad as ever, and I thinks sometimes, get a grip, why are you bothered!!! But annoyingly I am!!! And won't be truly happy until it's resolved which I'm in the process of sorting!!! But till then,I'm just gonna follow the advice iv given and fake it till I make it!!!! Good luck with it!!! And keep your chin up!
  9. Hi Michael, I dont think its necessarily showing people to be balder as such, its exposing the areas clearly that need the work doing, some of that problem area would in day to day be covered by native hair but that person wants to address that area, and as I said that should be shown in all its glory but I think that should also happen post op as well! It's not for me to name names and discredit anyone, the physician's who post like that know that they do and the physician's who don't know that they dont! Some show far more photos from all angles, hair in the same pre and post and they need to be commended, and some not so much! Like I said I dont want to throw mud, just an observation and certainly something I have personally looked at when trying to choose a doctor for my surgery!
  10. Hi Dr lindsey, thanks for commenting on this thread as I'm glad someone in the hair restoration industry understands potential patients concerns! I think angles of peoples heads, lighting, and flash can give varying results, and although that can't be perfectly replicated it is always appreciated if every effort is made to do so. What I think is a real problem is when the hair is styled in not the way the patient or anyone else would style it pre op,or when the pre op photos have hair pulled right back, not at the hair line but just behind it or at the half way back there for exposing thin or bald areas that would already be covered if the hair was combed over them, but on the post op the hair is shown with the hair styled over them areas and basically looking its best! Don't get me wrong I think that must be shown as an example of how it can now look, but I also think there should be a replica photo of the pre op photo so we can clearly see what hair and density is now present the previously bald/thinning area, and a pre op photo showing what the patient could achieve prior to his surgery.this would guve a nest vs best and worst vs worst comparison which I think would be a great platform to assess what has actually been achieved! Some physician's already do this, but I think its fair to say some don't,which is a shame! Hopefully more will start to do apples for apples comparisons, can I also say I think it great that you took time out to comment as it shows physician's do care about what people look for and try there best to replicate as close as possible the most accurate comparison!
  11. Good luck with the growth,dr feriduni seems to be a very talented surgeon and all round good guy!! I'm sure you'll have great results, keep us posted!!!
  12. Good luck texag! Really hope it works out for you!!! Although your growth wasn't great on a plus point your hair doesn't look bad as it wasn't that bad before, just not the change you would of hoped for or expected!! Fingers crossed for you!!!
  13. I agree with the above coments, and also the patients own assessment and views!! With respect kira I think what you have said is incorrect and to be blunt a poor excuse, the amount of hair he had before seems to have stayed and the transplanted hair doesn't appear to have grown!! Could you provide photos of just after the survey so we can actually see where the hair was planted, and I would advise the patient to now style his hair in the same style used in the pre op photos and post them in! Because to be fair it appears his hair was combed at ubfavourable angles pre op and combed back from the middle of his head to expose the problem areas, then in the post op photo it just appears the his original hair has been styled to cover those area up!! I would imagine had you styled his hair in the same manor as post op before his surgery ther would be very little difference to his post op results! Also I think that the patients comment about poor yield is correct and he must be disappointed with the results especially considering the amount of grafts used!!! I initially didn't want to comment on these results as didnt want to say the results were poor as I felt it might upset the patient and he may have been happy with them, which is the main thing, however since reading his post,I thought it should be mentioned!! What are your plans for this patient?? As I would hope that you would look at the results and agree they were way below par and offer a solution for him, although with hair restoration there are no guarantees I think the difference between physicians is when results are below par they take a honest and professional view and hold there hands up and say, you know what, they are below what should be achieved, but don't worry we will look into why and address the situation for you and try to put that right!!! I hope at 12 months if his situation hasn't greatly improved this will happen as that makes a huge difference as to what makes a great surgeon stand out from the average/below par one!!!
