  1. The left hand side scar has grown out pretty well also It is so liberating not to worry about scars anymore, I honestly thought nothing could be done to improve my situation. Gone are the stares from the general public when I am out. I can go outside in sunlight and wind and not worry, or have to hide my scars with my hand, you adopt all sorts of ways to try to hide a disfigurement Any events or meetings I attended socially, I used to sit in a chair with my hands behind my head, hiding my scars, terrified of someone walking in the room behind me, now all this stress and worry is gone! Cheers ej
  2. Thanks for the comments, thought I would add a couple of pictures of my face/chin. 3800 grafts have been removed, I have no scarring or marks on my face at all, still plenty to tap into. The extraction pattern was well planned from the outset, and I still have a pretty much uniform density throughout my beard area. It is hard to explain the immense feeling of freedom these repair procedures have given me. I have been given my life back! I no longer have to avoid social events or position myself so that others cannot see the back of my head, I no longer feel utter terror on a windy day, when my hair was blown, and people ask if I have been in an accident! I can actually cut and style my hair! These things are so easily taken for granted research is key, and if in doubt do nothing. ej
  3. Just thought I would update with some pictures showing the rear of my head. I feel I have come quite a way, many thanks to all at BHR ejj
  4. Hey Beard me up you have a `big time beard` that is super-dense! I have had 3800 beard extractions performed by Dr Bisanga to repair the damage caused by former poor procedures and products. Feel free to check out my thread below. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/160800-scar-repair-1032-beard-hairs-dr-bisanga.html Very important your Dr uses a small 0.8 manual punch in my opinion, as I have not one mark on my face. Beard takes a lot longer to grow I found so keep this in mind also. All the best ej
  5. Go the garden centre buy an aloe vera plant break a bit of the leaves off and use the clear gel to rub on. Must admit the itching is a shocker! Good luck ej
  6. Strata, Small FUE sessions would be the way to move forward with your repair. I would not attempt revision at all. You will need multiple surgeries to correct this, with each small session will come improvement. I do not know what your donor supply is like and cannot really see from the pictures, but I would consult with doctors who can use beard and scalp FUE. I think Doctor Coal in the USA could be an option. Feel free to check out my repair. All the best ejj http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/160800-scar-repair-1032-beard-hairs-dr-bisanga.html

  8. Abe, all the best on your latest procedure, I hope all works out well for you. Picture one is shocking! The donor looks over-harvested, and looks like the punch used was too large. Regards ejj
  9. I am curious as to why you went to an other Dr after a great and good result?
  10. Feel free to have a look at my scar repair, hope it is helpful. Try to not rush into a repair and consult with some Drs who know what they are doing. All the best ej http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/160800-scar-repair-1032-beard-hairs-dr-bisanga.html
  11. Hi Mickey, Thanks for your interest, pre- bhr is on this section page 49. You are correct I had three strips/fut to graft into the frontal area, the fue into the scar was a new procedure `plucking` so the fue was in fact plucked beard grafts, nothing grew, in fact Dr Bisanga plucked a couple of them out at my initial consultation to avoid any inflammation. Seems like a long time ago now and thankfully I am in a much better situation. All the best ej
  12. Hi Aaron, I am in the UK, skype is an option also. I am glad to hear that you will wait a year or so before deciding on anything, scars can change, they can become softer or harder, raised or flat, they can change in colour also, becoming a pale white or develope a soft pinkish tone if the blood vessels re-establish, all this can change the scars overall appearance and how best to proceed with any repair. For the moment try a little eyeliner (available from the chemist/pharmacist US) use the brown not black as it is to dark, rub a little on the end of your finger and then rub your finger over the scar it goes a long way to disguising it. Also try to grow your hair so that it falls over the scar. All this takes away a little of the pressure. Talk Soon ejj
  13. Hi Aaron, Have you got any pictures you could post showing the scar? As I said earlier do not rush into anything, if you ask a lot of Doctors are they " masters at scar repair" they will all say the same thing. It is critical that you don't make your situation any worse, believe me I know how you feel I had a `20 year repair journey` or prison sentence` as you refer to it. Now is the time for a cool head, consult with some Doctors and meet people who have had repair procedures, I am available to meet if you need some support. All the best ej
  14. Hi Aaron, I am sorry to hear about the position you find yourself in. Please see the link below, and I hope it provides some encouragement that something can be done. The main thing now is that you do not rush into a repair or revision. If this was your first strip then you need to consult with a physician who has lots of experience in revising scars as they may well feel that this is the best way to go. Alternatively FUE into scar worked for me. All the best ej http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/160800-scar-repair-1032-beard-hairs-dr-bisanga.html
  15. Thanks for the support since and mickey. It has certainly been a very draining experience. I do feel a lot better about my scarring, no more strangers walking up to me in a bar asking `what has happened to my head`. Below are a couple of pictures of my beard donor, as you can see I can probably tap into a few thousand more! Thanks for the support it is much appreciated. ej
  16. Below are some photographs taken before any repair, then an attempted repair, then at initial consultation with BHR before any repair with them, then three years after 1000 beard grafts into the left hand side scarring. I thought I would include a couple of pictures showing the effects of side weighting the grafts, from left to right in my case, and the effects this has when styling your hair to your advantage. I had a cut last week and this is the shortest I have been able to go to in 20 years! All the best and take care ej
  17. Hello Trinder I have attached some pictures below of the scarred area. The after pictures show the area at about 16 months post op . I still have some hairs breaking the surface at 2 years post procedure. The work BHR have done for me has made a huge difference in my life, I no longer avoid social events weddings, any outdoor events etc, I can stand at a bar without fear of people staring at the back of my head. It is good to know something can be done. All the best ej
  18. Hi Taco At the initial consultation it is important to assess beard donor characteristics, and if beard grafts are suitable as an alternative source of donor. For some beard donor is not suitable for various reasons, I was lucky, not only to have the density I have, but also that my beard hair blends in well with my scalp hair. I am very fortunate. I can not feel the difference between scalp or beard hair. Regards ej
  19. Cheers Levrais, yes it was a good trip may do the euro star next time and save hanging around at the airports. Hi Taco, I have not seen any of doctor Umars patients in the flesh and at my consultation, I met the BHR rep, who himself has had over 1400 extractions from the beard and has no visible marks. As a repair patient this was important to me, along with some other well documented repair cases I also saw online. Location was a factor as well, as it is only an hours flight away. Below are before and after photographs. Grafts this time 950 beard. In total approximately 3800 over four procedures. Many thanks for all the kind comments, thanks Mickey, I hope my thread is helpful to others. ej
  20. I have just returned from BHR after having 950 beard grafts placed into my mid scalp. I have attached a picture of the donor today 24 hours later, and will update with placement when I get the pictures from the clinic. Many Thanks ej
  21. Hi Spanker Have you got any pictures as it would be interesting to see this. Is the thinning around the donor scar? I believe that the hair can thin above and below the strip extraction site. If the procedure was FUE then it does decrease density throughout the donor area. May just be OCD as you say though! All the best. ejj
  22. Here are the pictures of my donor area after three thousand extractions. I took these photographs this morning after wet shaving. I have been asked about white dot scarring being an issue, as some people have concerns over this due to what they have been told during the course of their research and consultations. I thought the best way forward was to meet patients and see the result for myself. This then gave me the confidence to proceed. Hope this helps. ej

  24. Here is a photograph of my crown taken at six months post procedure. I had around 420 single beard grafts into the crown. The hair is similar to my surrounding scalp I think perhaps a little greyer. Part of your consultation should be to discuss your beard characteristics and suitability to use as donor, maybe a good idea would be to do a test patch from under your chin and into a small 2-3 cms sq area of scalp, that way you can assess how you heal and grow. All the best with your research. ejj
