dr thomas rosalenni and dr dennis watkins
baldingbro replied to boloheadboy's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Don't for get to ask him for references of his old patients whom you can call, if possible whom you can meet. I do not know about your Norwood class. Ask him if he can achieve the proper hairline in one session. You may even ask him about his technique . What kind of blades he uses. how he controls the depth of the incisions if he does not use custom blades. Also whether he uses lateral slits. -
baldtom, Is Dr Rahal going to put all the grafts 3000+2500 in the front half your scalp. What is the plan. Goodluck for your procedure.

I did not get a HT done yet, but currently doing reasearch on this forum and meeting few patients. Here is what I think about HT. Currently I have thinned hair all over the scalp with maximum density ranging from 10-20 FU, maximum in the mid scalp, less in the hair line and crown. I fall in Norwood V-VI with this hair I look much better than others who are completely bald. Using simple math I could say I have around 3000 FUs on my scalp. So I guess when 5000 FUs are place aesthetically on my scalp It should look much better even If I loose all my natural hair. After that I never need to be worried about becoming a cueball in my life. If I get the HT done when I have some diffused hair than when I lost all the hair it would be less obvious to other people that I have done something to my hair.

Pulling the Trigger (and social stigma)
baldingbro replied to Artie's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Until I lost more than 50% of my hair not many people even noticed it. I guess similarly if you haven't lost that much hair then I dont think any body would notice that you have got HT done. Only people losing hair at younger age are more obsessed about hair , watching everybody else hair. -
15 Months after HT done at Dr.Madhu's Hyderabad
baldingbro replied to RRVG's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Nice work by Dr Madhu. I wish I was there in hyderabad,India. He seems to be doing exceptional work especially on higher Norwood patients. And cost is very less. He completes the work for the amount that the Drs in USA take as Deposit. -
Albundy, I live in CA and I am also searching for a Doctor. So far it appears to me that the real top notch doctors for HT are outside CA. doctors who regularly post exceelent results and in neighboring states are Dr Alexander and Dr Gabel. Personally I am impressed by Dr Gabel's work. Dr. Carman seems to be a good choice within CA. My opinions are biased on my level of balding and kind of work I am looking for. So you need to do your own reaserch.

In general is a HT worth it?
baldingbro replied to peterson12's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
I have read lot of horror stories on these forums about bosley. Also Bosley is expensive. It is commonsense that talented doctors start their own practice, They don't usually work for these groups for salary. -
Usedandabused, I am very sorry for your situation. I guess you are telling the story as a caution to others who are considering HT. Pictures would help people to evaluate and understand the situation better. At the age of 34 NW2 is not a compelling reason to go for HT, Of course priorities differ from person to person. But in any case your situation is reminder for everybody to do a thorough research before going for HT especially understanding the worst possibilities of HT and the importance of choosing a right doctor,.

Cheaper alternative to propecia is proscar. Like RCWest said there are some rare cases where some kids are bald without any family history of baldness. Hopefully it may be some temporary loss for you. Or you may just be heading only to NW2 as you indicated your father also has hight temples. Sean gave you the best advise to go and get the DNA test done.First findout what is happening then procede.

As far as I know finasteride helps every where. Minoxidil is more effective on crown.

wow shadow..you are scaring the poor guy. byron... I suggest you not to worry about bad shedding. continue using the medicine you should get it all back . Considering your age,and level of balding you should see more growth on top of it. Worst case you will continue to have what you have. Other side effects if at all you have will be temporary. very rare you will see permanent side effects. I used it for 6 years. side effects are gone after few months after i stopped using it. If you see side effects talk to your doctor. Also consider using at 0.5mg per day or 3 times a week if you are worried

David, After shower is it ok to dry the recipient area with a towel? -
I started loosing hair at the same age. I can understand your situation. Now I am 32 and I regret that I have not used any Meds for last 5 years. Now I started using Finasteride again .It is kind of too late. My family history indicates I will go NW6. It is tough to get a good coverage and density with HT alone. Consult one of the top doctors recommended on this web site. discuss with him about your family history. He probably will ask you to go on Finasterides. He may suggest you not to go for HT at this age. Listen to his advise. If you are not satisfied consult couple of other doctors recommended on this website. Probably you will get same advise from all of them.

Yesterday I met Monster personally. Thanks monster for agreeing to meet me. I was surprised that he was able to roam around happily on the 2nd day of his HT#2. His hair grown from HT#1 looked very natural. It is conservative hairline which I believe is very apt for his situation and well planned. Photos he uploaded does not really do justice to the hair he has currrently. It looks much denser in person than in photos. Good luck Monster, I am sure you will be excited once all those tiny grafts from your second procedure grow well.

Lorenzo, You must be very happy with your results, that what really matters. Infact in postop photos your hair looks amazing no doubt. Like everybody else I am also disappointed for not being able to compare your preop and postop photos. Members like me who are panning to have HT would like to look at photos posted by patients rather than by doctors. If we can compare preop and postop photos that would help us to determine what a good doctor can achieve. If you can post some photos in more light, It would helps us to have realistic goals.

Travel after hair transplantation surgery
baldingbro replied to baldingbro's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Thanks Dr Glen and Thehairupthere. -
Hi I live in northern California and I am considering traveling to a good doctor within USA for HT. How safe is it to travel by flight the next day after the HT to come back home. A local doctor that I had consultation with said that first 3 days of postop are very important. He told me one should take proper rest and especially be in a recliner or on a bed with chin upright position to avoid swelling. I guess a lot of people in this forum travelled to have their HT. Please let me know your expeirence and give me some postop tips for a successful HT.
