  1. I could be wrong, but I don't think much will change with the current strip, fue techniques that we have (unless of course hair cloning/multiplication becomes a concrete reality). It seems that the price won't really change too much because you're still paying for a difficult procedure, the technicians, etc.
  2. How good are you at spreading the hairs aside for the dropper?
  3. Generic finasteride is made by several different manufacturers so each one looks a little different. As long as you purchased them via a prescription and through a legitimate supplier, you should have nothing to worry about. Perhaps you can find out the name of the manufacturer?
  4. I'm not sure if I completely understood your question but this might help: How Do You Measure Scalp Laxity? - Hair Loss Information by Dr. William Rassman
  5. Yeah, what happened to Nicolas Cage? It didn't seem like he had a Master Plan or anything.
  6. You can try to get a prescription for generic finasteride. It's a lot cheaper than Propecia.
  7. Credit cards! Didn't feel like robbing a bank or becoming a male prostitute!
  8. I remember them giving me the shots. I was told they were ready to be given and I stupidly put my arm out. "No that's not where they're going".
  9. I think I look a lot better with hair than without (I used to shave my head).
  10. I can't decide between the waiting time and the two-weeks post op where you have to be very careful.
  11. Is the doctor your general practitioner? Did he/she give you a reason for refusal? You could always look for another doctor in the area (call their office and say you are looking to obtain a prescription) or you could go get a consultation with a recommended coalition member.
  12. Yeah there are tons of examples of balding or bald celebrities. They are as susceptible to mother nature as we lowly nobodies are. To combat this they use what we use: wigs, drugs, and transplants.
  13. Are you unable to go to a doctor to get a prescription?
  14. I believe it stimulates only the follicles that are in danger of falling out. The shedding it be from only the follicles that are being assisted by the minoxidil. Unless someone has a better answer... Congrats on the peaks.
  15. Has any other doctor come up with a method or is Rassman the only one?
  16. Apologies for the lack of clarity. Based on what I've read, the first hairs seem to grow in between 3-4 months, but for some people it may take longer than 6. Is there any way to tell if you might be in the former rather than the latter?
  17. Hey everyone, I was wondering if it was possible to figure out if your transplanted hair would come in at a fast or slow rate. Does it depend on how fast your hair grows naturally?
  18. Sorry to hear that, HouseofCards, Have you tried to tweak and reduce the dosage of finasteride? You might be able to still see results and not have the side effects. Are you also using minoxidil?
  19. Isn't it impossible to not have a scar? At the most it would be just hard to see.
  20. I'm not even two months post op and I am feeling the same way man! Dr. Hasson is a great surgeon and you should have a good result. If he didn't think so, he wouldn't have performed the procedure. I know it's hard (I can't help but be worrisome myself) but try not to let this stuff get to you. What's been working for me is trying new things and doing new things to make me feel better. For instance, I've been eating better and exercising. I've started learning the guitar. I'm reading more again. All of these things are making me feel better, and I'm not as wrapped up in thinking about my hair. And besides, a few months from now I might be able to play a pretty decent guitar before my hair starts growing in. Not sure if anything I said makes sense!
  21. Yeah, finding a great surgeon and staff that won't butcher you is definitely an unnerving experience. Luckily we have this site! I checked Dr. Alexander's website and although it didn't explicitly say he does 3,000+ grafts, he probably does it since he is a coalition member. You can ask him. He also does free consultations.
  22. Yeah you do not want to have a hairline that does not look real. Even though you're not having a lot of grafts moved be careful. Fue is a difficult procedure (harder than fut) and definitely needs to be done by a super competent surgeon.
  23. Have you searched the doctors' names on this site (the reviews and such)? The recommended and coalition surgeons seem to have been vetted quite extensively.
  24. Definitely go to that consultation with Feller. You could also try to see other recommended surgeons in NY, like True & Dorin or Bernstein. The more people you talk to, the better informed you are.
