  1. There are a few recommended surgeons in California and Arizona. If they are too far away to schedule a consultation, perhaps you can contact them to schedule an online consultation.
  2. Ah, I see that you are on finasteride. How long have you been on it? It takes time to find out if it is slowing down or stopping or (in a select few) reversing some of the loss.
  3. So you have slight hair loss at the temples and the surrounding area? Did he recommend minoxidil or finasteride? Regarding the donor area, recovery from fue is quicker than with fut since there is no scar. It might take a few weeks for the scabs to come off and some more time after that for the redness to disappear. It depends on your body.
  4. In my humble opinion, all of the recommended surgeons are a safe bet, but because the procedure is permanent, you theoretically should not allow distance to dictate your choice.
  5. Maybe you can you use a spray on moisturizer?
  6. The shedding should only come from the area in which minoxidil is used. The shedding should be temporary anyway (though the length of time I think depends on the person).
  7. I'm glad I was able to get generic finasteride. I had been paying $85/month for Propecia. Curses, Duane Reade!
  8. Seems like that to me, unless of course a graft can be dislodged and remain in the scalp?
  9. Propecia without a prescription? That doesn't quite sound legit. You might not be getting the right dosage of finasteride in those pills.
  10. I believe after nine days or so the grafts are firmly in place it might not be an issue, especially since nothing like awry when you woke up. Have you asked your surgeon about it?
  11. I don't think there are recommended surgeons in Philadelphia but there are in New Jersey and New York: Hair Transplant in Canada and USA
  12. Yeah, I'd be willing to guess a lot of celebrities have had work done (or at least wear pieces). Celebrities are just like us, and many of them probably experience hair loss to some degree.
  13. I may be wrong, but shouldn't a maturing/thinning hairline be the only thing related to natural age thinning? It all depends on genetics. There are old people with full scalps and younger folks like myself that have been trolled by mother nature.
  14. Sorry to hear about the massive swollen-ness! I was bending at the knees many days after surgery. I was just curious about the effect bending would have on the grafts themselves.
  15. Hair cloning/multiplication would be awesome but I'm not getting my hopes up.
  16. RE001, You could just inform your doctor that Propecia is too expensive for you and request either Proscar or generic finasteride. He/she shouldn't give you a hard time for it.
  17. That sounds crazy! Glad to hear the grafts were okay.
  18. Thanks for response Teach77. I had not thought about the donor area in regards to bending. Speaking of dislodging grafts, can they be internally dislodged and not fall out (but still not grow)?
  19. Hello everyone, I was wondering how bad bending at the waist is within the first few days of surgery. I know it's not allowed (and I didn't do it of course) but what actually happens if you do it? Does the pressure force your grafts to pop out?
  20. Hi Chilledoutguy! The beginning of your post sounds like me! I too shaved my head rather and was lurking around for a while before I started posting. In theory you wouldn't have to wait too long before scheduling your surgery. From my experience (as long as your hair is at least half an inch) you have to pay the deposit, get your prescriptions, and make sure to stop taking your vitamins and such. I think most people on the forum would say that because this procedure is permanent, cost shouldn't be a concern.
  21. Thanks for the advise guys. In addition to cooling off my finger and I'll try cooling off the Rogaine itself (in the fridge or by immersing it in water for a little while).
  22. Hey everyone, I was wondering if there was any way to stop Rogaine foam from quickly dissolving due to heat. My partner and I live in a converted attic with no air conditioning. It's always ten+ degrees hotter in our house than in the lower levels. I've tried storing the bottles in different places and even next to fans but many times (especially if it is above 90 degrees outside) much of the foam instantly dissolves in the cap as soon as I squirt it out. Does anyone have any tips on how to prevent this sort of thing from happening? Thanks in advance.
