For some people it takes a while before the hairs fall out. They might even start growing before they do if I'm not mistaken. Everyone is different but for most people most of the transplanted hair eventually falls out before the real growing begins.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to cut your own hair after the transplant, though obviously if you cut the hair too short people will be able to see your scar. I never have my hair short so I'm not sure how short would be long enough though :-/

Your surgeon should give you a list of do's and don't's so you shouldn't have to worry about that. Who is performing your procedure? Best of luck to you!

Unfortunately for most men, finasteride will not help (as in halt current loss or regrow hair) along the hairline/temples. It is most helpful on the crown so while it may not be helping the front of your head it might be doing something for the back. The medication also might be slowing down the rate of loss even if it doesn't seem to be helping. It's hard to say what's going on unless you go off the drug to see what happens (though it might not be a good idea!).

Is there any reason you're not going for one of the Coalition members? Nuhart seems to churn out a lot of unhappy patients, as aaron1234 has already said.

Yeah, it seems that for those people that start losing their hair early, the end up at the advanced stages of the Norwood Scale. I started losing my hair around 19 and at my consultation I was told I might become a Norwood 6.

I didn't get the FUE so I'm not helpful in that regard but it seems like six months is still too early to start judging a transplant (unless you're looking at only early growth).

I agree with mmhce. There's no reason to stop taking the drug when you get the procedure done.

From what I've read there are some people that do see positive results on their hairlines when using finasteride. I'm not sure what the percentage is (I don't think anyone would have a good percentage) but it seems to be a small number regardless. Most men don't seem to get any benefit from the drug on that part of the head unfortunately. The only thing you can do is try it for a year or so and monitor your progress.

For some people some of the transplanted hairs can start growing and not fall out. Have you been following the washing instructions of your surgeon? The grafts can be anchored into your skin as early as five days but for others it can take up to 14 days. The scabs should start coming off on their own soon when as you continue to gently wash your head (as per the instructions).

Are you referring to the scabs? If so, have you spoken to your surgeon about this? Grafts are usually anchored in about 14 days or so after the surgery and they usually come off when you (gently) was your scalp. If you're referring to the hairs themselves, then they might just be taking a little longer to either fall out or start growing. It varies from person to person and I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I used to order from that website and if I recall correctly it does not say Rogaine on the box.

Yeah it looks like you have some thinning going on there. If I were you I'd make an appointment with a doctor and get on some finasteride (generic, too!).
