  1. Anyone else have serious sides from Fin? I have been on it for over a year now I have have the worst brain fog and depression I have ever felt in my life. I have been getting anxiety attacks every day and went to the hospital thinking I was having a heart attack. I almost feel like this drug makes you feel so much more embarrassed about your hair loss then you normally would. It is making me so much more emotional and I actually cry sometimes for no reason. Im not trying to convince everyone this drug is horrible BUT be careful. I much rather be bald then feel the way I do everyday because of this drug and It took me almost a year and a half to realize it was Proscar that was doing it. If anyone has questions or has been through this before please feel free to pm me or respond. I don't know if I will still want a hair transplant after I have been off this for a few months. Hopefully I will continue to loose my hair so I can see what my final NW will be and then MAYBE ill consider getting a hair transplant. Right now I just want to get my life back. There is no way I could take this stuff for the rest of my life just to prevent me from loosing a few hairs on my head.
  2. K_2009 I am suppose to get a HT from Dr. Wong in the near future so im VERY curious to see how he handles your situation. Please PM me your email address so I can keep in touch with you. Thanks:) PS: I feel your in good hands and they will help you gain the results you expected because you are not being unreasonable.
  3. You have a head of hair right now as before you had no hair. It is not the fullest head of hair but im sure with a little dermmatch or toppik it looks better. I personally think you will probably need a few thousand more graphs to complete the thick look without having to use concealers. Could we see the before pictures of your crown area from behind? Could we possibly get some more pictures of what you hair looked like in the 12-14 months mark. Also could we get some more recent pictures of your crown and hairline? .
  4. Just came across what looks to be the biggest load of BS i've ever seen! (links to promotional sites removed) Whoever runs "Marquee Hair Institute" also runs these shady websites. (links to promotional sites removed) Who is the "Surgeon" that is performing these HT? Someone needs to be held accountable. I hope this isn't for real but I have a bad feeling it is. We need to STOP this.
  5. My suggestions are to: Get on Finasteride right away and take 1.25 mg daily (do this for a year because I didn't see improvement in my hair till a full year after.) Fin works well in Diffuse thinners because it can strengthen thinning hair and possibly restore some of it. Minoxidil 5% every day twice a day forever. You can also buy this up to 15% on amazon.com Vitamins such as MSM, Nioxin, and others can aid in hair growth. Even takeing a one a day vitamin will prob help somewhat. Nizoral 2% is the best shampoo you can use. It keep your scalp clean and helps it breath. Platelet Rich Plasma treatments. This is new to the Hair restoration community but has shown some freaky results on some people especially diffuse thinner. Stick with a daily routine! Also shaving your head may help not only with confidence but it also makes it easier to apply all those topicals! Dont rush into any surgery just yet.
  6. Good topic. Im in the same boat as you with the dark sides and thin lighter top. When I had a full head of hair I actually always used lemon juice w/ water in a bottle and even though it drys out your hair(add olive oil) a little bit you only need to do it like once every few weeks as long as you go out in the sun with the lemon juice in. I found a little more info on the net that I posted below. BTW I haven't tried lightening my hair since its been thinning because im afraid of damaging the thin hairs even more. Methods for lightening hair color with Lemon Juice: With lemons, you need heat. Best to sit in the sun or wrap hair with saran wrap then apply heat with a blowdryer. But the sun does work the best Dilute the lemon juice with 3 parts juice, 1 part water.M ix in a spray bottle and apply to hair before sunning. You can also add 1 tbs of Olive oil to the mixture to combat the drying effects of the lemon juice on the hair Always condition after using lemon juice to lighten the hair! Lemon juice is very drying on the hair. I also found this looks pretty good on body hair after a day in the sun half of your arm and leg hairs will turn lighter and appear way thinner.
  7. Ok so I have been stressing about my hair loss and what im going to do about it all week... then overnight I find a random bald spot on the back of my head??? O RLY?!! I quickly googled it and came to the conclusion that its stress induced Alopecia Areata. Yippie! Its a very minor case so far compared to how some people get it buts its a first time for me and its kinda weird. Any suggestions? (Im new to the forums and you can read my bio for a little background on me. I wish to get a HT in the very near future and plan to do a detailed blog of my journey)
