  1. No pics yet -- Dr. Panine's office will be sending later.
  2. Two days ago Dr. Panine in Chicago performed a 2600 graft HT for me. I flew back home to Nashville this AM and feel great. About 2000 were used to finish the restoration of my hairline and add mucho density to my frontal area. The other 600 grafts were used towards the back to cover a thin spot. It's my 3rd (and hopefully final) HT. Though Dr. Keene performed my 2nd HT 11 months ago, I had since moved from Dallas to Nashville and decided to "shop around." I opted to go with Dr. Panine for 3 reasons: 1) Great rates 2) Excellent results from past clients 3) Transportation. Stewart (Dr. Panine's rep) picked me up at the airport, took me to/from the hotel/office and finally was willing to pick me up at 7:30 AM to drive me back to the airport! For those of you who've traveled for a HT and had to arrange your own driving around, you know how much of a pain in the butt getting around can be. Dr Panine and his staff really bent over backwards to make sure I was taken care of. So if anyone's looking for a procedure in the Chicago area, seriously consider using Dr. Panine and his staff. On another note, if you use him, when ordering your lunch, I strongly suggest the Philly Cheese steak sandwich.
  3. Hey JoJo - like the others, I think the density is great. Your hair quality looks like mine. But do you think any of your concerns could involve what your hair line looks like now vs. what it once was? For me, my hairline was similar to your BEFORE pic up until almost year ago. My hairline's been restored almost back to where it was 3 yrs ago, but it's not quite exactly how it was originally. I guess maybe b/c my Dr. tried to restore it back on pics I had given her of my hair 3 years ago. But I think in the end, could a surgeon ever get the hair line exactly what you saw in the mirror for years? Not sure. At least where I'm at, I'm thrilled to see most of my hairline back the way it was before the receding, but when I look at it in the mirror, it's like it's slightly different from what it was originally. So ... just me thinking outloud. But overall, the density rocks. Congrats.
  4. Bill, Way to stay on top of new posts (legit or not) to help maintain the integrity of this site!
  5. There were no consultation fees with Dr. Keene before I choose to go with her earlier this year. In fact, she replied to a number of follow up emails I sent with no fees.
  6. Most (if not all) was a HT. I dated a girl who's dad was a doctor in Dallas and it was a doctor friend of his who did Matthew's hair. But never got the Dr.'s name.
  7. Hey Justin, I'm guessing it's a genetic thing in part? (Guys, correct me if i'm way off). I had 2000 graft strip with Dr. Keene 6 months ago and don't think I had any shock loss issues. But I've no doubt it'll grow back in soon enough. Hang in there!
  8. That makes sense. Once again Bill, thanks!
  9. Hey Guys, I've read many posting that talks about hair thickening over the first year+. Being 6 months post op, I've seen a major "thickening" in the past 4-5 weeks. I also expect more so over the next 5-6 months. My question is this -- when people talk about "thickening," are the individual hair's actually thickening? Or are there just a number of shedded transplants that don't sprout for as long as 9-12 months later? Or is it both? thanks!

  11. Hey Tommy -- looks very cool and I never would have guessed you had a HT. And for my two cents, if you've got the donor hair for future HTs and you've waited long enough from your first HT, embrace the hair greed.
  12. Very cool - you literally look like a whole other person!
  13. I saw a number of his vids recently on youtube -- he did some amazing work and repairs.
  14. Yea, before any of my 2 HTs, all the numbers/stats I read were greek,. I understood everything in theory. But after my first HT, things were put into a little better perspective. After my 2nd, I had an even better understanding of stats/numbers.
  15. Hey Eman, I remember first reading your posts when you had the HT. I wondered how it'd turn out --- it's actually better than i guessed! If you're like me, you kind of questioned, "What the crap am i doing??" as the doc started to cut into the donor area. ha But it really looks great. Also, honestly, I can't see the dark line you talk about that sort of shows your scar. So for what it's worth, I can't see any sign of your scar.
  16. Hey Abby --- Your hair on top and hairline look great! I'd seriously have never guessed you'd had work done before.
  17. Hey Bill, Thanks for replying. But to clarify my question, thought "genetics" is probably the answer ...? But during the post-time of both procedures, some areas of my scalp didn't shed while other parts did -- both times. Is that just a genetic thing maybe? Thanks! Also, congrats on the last procedure. Your hair honestly looked great before. But i can see where you'll get a lot more density. Hope it grows well my friend.
  18. Probably part of the same grand design that grows hair on men's knuckles and in our ears as we age!!
  19. Chris Martin (lead vocalist) from Coldplay has had something done himself. I'm a huge fan of them -- if you youtube any of their live shows from an Austrailia (live DVD) a few years ago, you'll see receding hair line. Example on Youtube is their song SEE YOU SOON. But in newer vids/promo shots, no/little receding hair.
  20. To comment on Vince's "He has been doing nothing buy HT's for 19 years now!" I've never heard of Dr. Wolf and do not discredit his work. But speaking from experience, the doctor who performed my first HT also had done nothing but HTs for years. But in hindsight, his work on me was lacking -- almost like he never learned any of the more current techniques.
  21. Hairtobe - Congrats! I think you had more density filled in than I did but mine's coming along about the same rate. Looking good! And now like me, it's just a waiting game for the new hairs to catch up and blend with the rest.
  22. Hey everyone. It's been 11 months since my first procedure of 800+ grafts and 4.5 months since my 2nd procedure of 2000 grafts. Everything's really filling in great!! This was one of the best decisions I've ever made! So with that said, I wanted to ask for your thoughts. First procedure - 600+ grafts on crown and 200+ up in small triangle area that receded just on my front-right temple (left side was fine). Most - if not all - of the grafts on crown stayed put with no/little shedding. All the grats in my temple though shed, which was to be expected. 2nd procedure - 1500 grafts filled in/restored density to entire diffused frontal area (including right/left temples) & 500 grafts on crown. Again, most if not all on the crown stayed put with no shedding. But in my front area, most/all of the grafts in right-frontal area shed while a significant # of grafts on my left stayed put. I wanted to see if any of you had similar experiences where certain areas of your head retained grafts while other sections kicked those initial grafts out. Thanks!!
  23. Hey TC, It was $5.00/graft at the time, but that was over 18 months ago. You'd have to check with him for current rates.
  24. Hey Hair, As I tried to explain, my concern wasn't Dr. Arocha's fee. I simply felt all of my concerns were not directly addressed. As with Dr. Keene (via phone & email), she did not hesitate to answer any of my questions/concerns. I felt she was very frank/direct with our discussions. That's the type of physician I'll choose everytime. But again, I have nothing negative at all to say about Dr. Arocha's work itself.
