  1. My regimen is easy to follow, no minoxidil, no finasteride, no special shampoos. The only thing I took was MSM to help speed up the growth (and I've stopped taking MSM now). And yes, I also noticed that the shape of your recipient area is very similar to mine And congratulations on your HT, you are very wise not to have had your HT in India and in choosing one of the best HT doctors in the world You appear to have ideal hair characteristics, so I'm sure you can look forward to excellent results. PB
  2. The scar looks very good and the early growth is coming along nicely. Congrats! PB
  3. I had 2700 grafts with Dr Feller and the price per graft worked out at $3.24. Dr Feller is recommended here and his prices seem to be on the lower end of the quality HT surgeons' price range. A larger session may be cheaper, you can check the price list on the fellermedical.com web site. PB
  4. I live in Europe and had my HT in New York. I flew back home 2 days after the HT and my wife removed the stitches without any problems on day 9 - she hasn't ever removed stitches before.
  5. Thanks JB, my traditional scar is pretty good too (almost invisible at the sides but stretched slightly at the back) and I don't really want to buzz my hair anyway, but as Doc Patient said, it would be nice to know that I could if I wanted to. PB
  6. LOL The video was also clear on my PC, great job! Would you be able to get the same results on a patient with a non-tricho scar, if the old scar was excised in conjunction with a second HT or are results like that only possible with virgin scalp? PB
  7. Search results here...
  8. My right side grew almost instantly between 3 - 4 months (you can see the difference if you look at my photos in the photo section) but the left side came in more slowly. Now at 6 months it's fairly even and stubble is still coming through on the left side. I was also worried that something had gone wrong on my left side with different technicians working on each side. By 5 months the left side had caught up - I don't think you have anything to worry about, it's fairly common. PB
  9. Surgeons probably don't want to ruin their reputations by giving patients teenage hairlines that will make them look ridiculous when they are older when they are left with a hairline and nothing behind it and not enough donor to fill all the bald area. Everyone will want to know who was responsible for it... PB
  10. Doesn't look like he has much donor hair... although probably enough to camouflage the plugs along the hairline... PB
  11. The dermatologist will probably do a scalp biopsy to rule out scalp melanoma if the foam, probably intended to clear up fungal infection, doesn't help. PB
  12. Typically around 10 days post-op. My wife removed mine on day 9 as skin had started to grow over the stitches. My scar was red for several months - now at 6 months there isn't any redness but there is still a scar and I doubt it will disappear completely. I didn't have tricho closure so there isn't any hair in the scar area. My scar doesn't actually look like a scar, the skin looks like ordinary scalp; it's just a line without hair. PB
  13. I am also surprised at how good your hair looks! At 3 months, it can only be mostly your native hair that has regrown. Perhaps it's with it being shorter than in your pre-op pics that it looks better. It looks like you have enough native hair to cover the plugs for now so you should look pretty good once the transplanted hair comes through. I think you are going to be OK for your wedding. PB
  14. No pain, no swelling. Come on, everyone has alittle of both or one. I had my transplant done with Dr. Feller. He did good work, but my hairline seems crooked, I am waiting for the 6 month period, for the hair to really grow and have a second look at with with dr. feller. The pain was really bad for me the day after the surgery, I almost could not bare it. My swelling started on the 2nd day and last for 5 days. Although, Dr. Feller does great work, lets not say no swelling, no pain, no nothing. There is always something. As I said, NO swelling at all. I took the painkillers before the anaesthetic wore off. Obviously there would have been pain without the painkillers but they took care of the pain completely ??“ I took the next painkiller before the effects of the previous one wore off and didn't experience any pain (well OK, I could feel pain begin to kick in as the effects of each painkiller wore off if I was late taking the next one but the painkillers worked). The sutures caused some discomfort but not really pain. Having your teeth root canals drilled and filed (especially when the file goes through the tip of the root and stabs you in the inside of your head) by an incompetent dentist, when the anaesthetic doesn't work is what I call pain. A HT is nothing compared to that!
  15. Why would you want to smoke? Senseless habit ! I have read that smoking can cause problems with healing after any type of surgery - I don't think your doctor is cheating you, it's your own fault if you want to smoke and risk ruining your HT.
  16. I went to Dr Feller for 2500 and paid for 2500 before the HT. My donor strip only had a yield of 2300, so he went back to the hair bank for more as 2500 slits had been made. The extra strip had 400 grafts, so Dr Feller made another 200 slits - I paid for 2500 and got 2700 The top docs don't rob you.
  17. That looks great for only 3?? months! PB
  18. I flew all the way from Europe to have my HT with Dr Feller in November 05. My results so far are on view in the photo section. My surgery went well; no pain, no swelling, no complications and now I'm growing hair and it looks natural. So, I have no hesitations with recommending Dr Feller - in fact I'm flying over again next month to see him for his opinion on what could be done about my crown. PB
  19. I can't see your scar in your "scar" pic PB
  20. If you mean you are completely bald on top (NW 6 or 7), you will require strip surgery. I suggest you read the posts here, look at the photo albums and blogs, make a list of surgeons you would consider. After that, contact the surgeons for a consultation to make sure that you are a candidate for HT surgery and to get an estimate of the number of grafts you will require and how much donor hair you have. Request to be able to meet some of the patients. Then make your choice and make an appointment. There is nothing to worry about if you go to one of the top HT surgeons - they won't do the surgery on you if you are not a candidate and are not likely to get satisfactory results. (I have also experienced all the bald jokes "take your swimming cap off" etc. But now I'm growing hair - no more swimming cap jokes ) PB
  21. Thanks hairbank! I was amazed at how quickly hair appeared there once things started to happen at the 3 month mark (and it was the longest 3 months of my life, waiting for something to happen!).
  22. Thanks Bill! Yes, it's great having hair again after the years of misery that comes with a big ugly bald forehead And I'm getting more hair all the time I'm flying over to New York again next month to see Dr Feller and see what could be done about my crown.
  23. Hi Haironbald, I had a HT with Dr Feller and I too was concerned about how high the hairline appeared. I asked him to bring the forelock slightly more forward than the more circular hairline he initially drew in (creating a widow's peak). It was still higher than I had planned. BUT now that hair has grown in, it doesn't look that high at all. I think the drawn hairline on a bald head appears much higher than it looks once there is hair there. Looking at my hair now, it would have looked unnatural had the hairline been any lower. So, I'm sure the hairline Dr Feller suggests for you will be correct and you can always make some minor changes to his suggested hairline once the first one is drawn in.
  24. Have you posted any pictures? Did the 1000 by Dr Feller go into your hairline? PB
