  1. The most common complaint is the very poor growth - here's a thread with a couple of very dissatisfied patients (I have seen Bigmac in person and he didn't have any more growth since his post - bad scarring is also mentioned here) http://stophairlossnow.ipbhost.com/lofiversion/index.php/t297.html Dr Bisanga mentioned on that post no longer has anything to do with DHI, so you won't find him there. I have heard of many similar cases, some with absolutely no growth and a lot of precious donor hair wasted. I would ask which surgeon you will be having and then do a lot of research on that particular surgeon before going through with it.
  2. I have read a lot of very negative feedback from DHI patients. I personally think you are about to make a very grave mistake.
  3. It looks more like a MR T hairstyle and not natural at all
  4. Have you started using some hair product you weren't using before? I started using Nizoral shampoo at 6 months post-op and shed a load of hair. I used it for three months and shed all the time. By 9 months post-op I had less hair than at 6 months post-op The only thing I had done differently was use Nizoral. I stopped using it and the shedding stopped and the lost hair eventually grew back after several months.
  5. Thanks for the replies Bill and Gorpy. I will just have to wait and see...
  6. Hi Gorpy, As I'll be having my second HT soon and I'm a bit anxious about shock loss, I was wondering if you had much shock loss of your HT#1 hair after your second HT?
  7. You won't have any trouble disguising your HT with your hair styled as in the first picture
  8. Some clinics have price lists on their websites. Dr Feller and Dr Rahal for example. My HT of 2700 grafts with Dr Feller fell into the 2500+ range and cost $8,750.
  9. Hi Wingnut and welcome, My head also resembles a wingnut without hair , hence the need for a transplant.
  10. I'll be sure to let you all know if I find anything out. I think Bill is probably right though.
  11. Hi Bill, That's exactly what I thought, but I thought I'd check on other forums to see if there could be any truth in it and if anybody else has any information about it. Dr Rogers didn't mention what the solution(s) is/are.
  12. Dr Rogers (UK) recently claimed that he is using a new "advanced storage solution" that allows grafts to grow from day one and not shed: This is the first time I have heard of this and I was wondering if any of the US/Canadian docs are using this "advanced storage solution"? Or if any patients have actually been treated with this "new advanced solution"? I know some of my own grafts hung on for 6 weeks after my HT even without any "advanced storage solution", but the majority had shed by then. Could this be true?

  14. I can only echo what hairworthy said. The closest place to London for a HT worth having is New York. I have seen many <STRIKE>patients</STRIKE> victims of all the well known UK clinics in person and the results range from poor to horrific. I met Spex in the UK for a consultation and decided to go with Dr Feller in November 2005 and had excellent results. I'm going back to Dr Feller this June for more. I highly recommend that you meet with Spex - he will not attempt to push a HT on you but will give you lots of useful and accurate information and tell you about all the clinics that are the ones worth going to (ie. in the US and Canada) if you want to get a HT. Here is his website, www.hair-help.co.uk
  15. How many grafts did you have in total from the three surgeries and how much area has been covered with transplanted hair? Please show some pictures.
  16. A big thanks to Dr Feller and Spex for organising such a great (3 day!) consultation/open house meeting in London. I saw Dr Feller for a consultation on Sunday after he had already been seeing guys from early morning on Saturday through to the evening and then was doing the same thing on Sunday and he was still full of enthusiasm! I guess he gets that sort of stamina from doing those marathon FUE sessions. The BBC found out about the consultation and Dr Feller still had the energy to give them over an hour long interview after two days of consultations (and still had more guys to see on Monday)! It was great seeing so many of the guys from the forums in person - the results look so much better when you see them in person than they do in photos. It was an excellent opportunity to see HTs in person at all the different stages as there were guys just 10 days out, a few months out and just starting to sprout and then others that were fully grown out but were good enough to come and let others see their results. I saw Stevo there, he still had his graft stubble and looked like he'd just buzzed his hair down and his tricho scar looked fantastic - just a very neat thin line. There was also another guy (don't know his name) at the same stage and due to his dark skin he didn't have any redness at all and you could hardly tell he had had a HT as all his graft stubble was still there and the rest of his hair buzzed down to match. The repair work that Dr Feller has done on the unfortunate guys that have been butchered in the UK looked great too - I saw AJG and there wasn't any sign of his previous butchering(s). I also saw some of the FUE patients, BigT and Hairroot to mention a couple - both looked great! I actually saw Hairroot in September when his first FUE session had grown out but before his second session and now I saw him again when the second batch of hairs are starting to come through - what a head of hair he's going to have! Ian and Pete (the "Feller" twins) were there with Arcticmonk greeting people. Arcticmonk looked great with plenty of hair on a previously completely bald head and the "Feller" twins really show how good the tricho closure can be when performed by a skilled surgeon. They are identical twins and Ian had his HT just before I had mine in November 05 and that was pre-tricho (I missed tricho by a month or two). Pete had his HT with Dr Feller a few months later and had tricho. Comparing the scars on these identical twins really shows what a success tricho is as you can't actually find Pete's scar. And it was great meeting all you other guys; Tommytwo, BigMac, PatchyP, Spuraman, Crabb, DER and everybody else.
  17. Congratulations Robo, I'm glad you are pleased with the surgery. I remember you from a while back, you are from Sweden right? Did you get your HT in Sweden?
  18. I agree with irishitaliangirl in that hair from a HT is real hair that continues to grow and that with breast augmentation the breasts are fake, padded with bags of silicone or whatever they use nowadays. I suppose if they used the patients own abdominal fat instead of silicone, it would just be a fat transplant and the two would be comparable.
  19. panther, please do keep us posted. This is something I am worried about for when I have my second HT. Hopefully your new HT hair and old HT hair will sprout this Spring. What sort of percentage of your old HT hair do you estimate has dropped out? I will be getting shaved down for my second HT (as with HT #1) but I was counting on all the HT #1 hair growing back and staying there... All the hair directly behind my recipient area grew back quickly and stayed there after my first HT.
  20. I had stubble that didn't seem to grow for quite a while, I could feel it amongst my longer hair. It eventually grew - I think it's fairly normal.
  21. You should contact Spex, a consultant for Dr Feller, as he is in the UK and can give you a face-to-face consultation. Spex is worth seeing even if you are going to H&W as he can estimate the number of grafts you will need after seeing you in person and you can compare his estimate to H&W's on-line estimate. He's happy to help anybody with hair problems even if they aren't going to Dr Feller and he won't try and put you off H&W. You don't necessarily have to stay in Manhattan for a HT with Dr Feller. Feller Medical is situated in Great Neck, a very quiet town, and there are plenty of hotels there. Great Neck is only half an hour away from the airports. The Andrew hotel in Great Neck allows discount for Feller patients and is only 5 mins away from the clinic. I saw Spex for my consultation in the UK and flew from Europe to NY for my HT with Dr Feller. I flew back 3 days after my HT and by that time I didn't need painkillers and didn't have any problems travelling at all.
  22. Wow, K.S.'s temple points are 100% natural looking, I'm impressed.
  23. Is this Reddy the same as Dr. Ashok Reddy in Hyderabad, India? Is Reddy part of the name or does it mean something else? Jagdish had a very out-of-date HT with Dr. Ashok Reddy in Hyderabad. He doesn't look too bad at the moment because he has hair amongst the plugs that grew out but once he loses that hair, he is going to have doll's hair and the old school plugs will be very visible.
  24. The one on the top row appears to have more scars from old donor plugs than from strip...
  25. There have been many Europeans ripped off by DHI. The yield from these DHI transplants is very low and some have had no growth at all.
