Thanks Gorpy and hairroot, Your hair looked great on the last update I saw hairroot, so I doubt I will have caught up to you by January How's your second HT coming along Gorpy? Unfortunately I can't see your album. Bill, I replied on the other thread - unfortunately I still cant view or post on the Flash galleries. I'll copy my pictures onto this forum's weblog so that you can get rid of the unwanted links.

Thanks Bill I don't want to mess around too much with my computer as I have so much other software installed on it that I need daily. The weblog sounds like the best alternative at the moment. I probably won't have much to show for a while anyway. The pictures I posted the link to show my recovery and now I'm just waiting for the sprouting to start. Wow! Congrats jagdish I remember how shocked I was when I first saw your first HT. This one is in a completely different league. It really looks great!

I've tried everything I can think of to try and get Flash to work on my computer short of re-installing the whole operating system along with all the applications I have installed. I'm not prepared to do that as it would be too time consuming. However, I would like to show everybody pictures of my 2nd HT with Dr Feller so hopefully this link to a non-Flash gallery will be allowed. I am only two months post-op but I think my recovery was very quick this time and I haven't needed to wear a cap at all after this HT - nobody has commented on my hair. The experience was virtually painless, as was my first HT, and everything went as planned. Many thanks to Dr Feller and his staff for another great HT. Nope, I'm afraid it just doesn't work (for me) I tried unistalling all the Adobe applications on my computer (including Adobe reader), re-installing, different profile. Flash is installed but every time I try to view the gallery, I am prompted to install Flash Player. My PC is only a few months old with no other problems, 2 Gb memory, Intel Core 2 Duo processor, so it's not that I'm using some old pile of junk. My internet connection is slow 1M/512 kb/s ADSL but is fast enough to use for most things and I haven't had any problems like this on other sites. This site worked fine with the old gallery. I haven't used this forum for months because of that crappy gallery. Flash will not install on my computer. When I click to install, install it, it says installation complete and successful but it hasn't installed anything. I tried again this evening and now a different problem - when I try and install Flash, I check the box to agree to their conditions and then click install and it unchecks the box I just checked and then comes up with an error message that I have to agree to the conditions before installing Operating System: XP Home I am the administrator of the computer The problem isn't caused by my firewall or anti-virus Seeing as I am not able to either view or post pictures in the galleries, the forum is pretty useless to me now

I have seen a few guys (and heard of many)from that place reporting no growth. The CHOI method appears to damage the follicles and you won't get any growth from it. If you are in the UK, the most reliable person to contact regarding hair restoration is Spex.

Hi dazza, did you have both your HT's with the same clinic in the UK? Which one(s)? If you don't mind me asking...

I also used 1% -Nozoral/Nizorelle. I think the theory is that weak hairs shed to make room for new stronger hairs, but my new HT hairs shed along with the rest of my other hair. I guess it works in different ways on different people. I'm just glad it did grow back once I stopped using it.

Thanks guys! It's strange that hair products that are supposed to prevent hairloss only make things worse for me. Minoxidil made me lose hair permanently, Nizoral caused terrible shedding but fortunately it came back once I stopped using it. I didn't use finasteride long enough to see any effect on my hair as I had other problems with it. I won't be using any other hair products again. I do use Nanothik after shampooing but it's not a medication and I think it makes my hair look a little thicker.

Hi Azza, I think it looks great. Your hair at the sides looks healthy. It would suck being that bald at your age so I think a HT was the right decision. Just have to hope that you don't recede down the sides when you're older.

I went in for my second HT with Dr Feller yesterday. My first Feller HT was in November 2005 for 2700 grafts into the front 1/3. Due to my limited donor supply and poor laxity, I haven't been able to have very large sessions. Yesterday Dr Feller managed to get 1832 grafts. I initially planned to have a second separate strip in order to get the maximum number of grafts but Dr Feller gave me an option of excising the previous non-tricho scar; which he estimated would mean approximately 400 less grafts. In the end we decided to go for a compromise and Dr Feller went along the top edge of the old scar. The new scar is tricho, so I will only be left with the lower edge of the old scar. My old scar wasn't bad and wasn't visible with hair at the length I usually have it at. The final result should be an improvement on the first scar so I'm happy with that. I saw Dr Feller in London several months ago for a consultation and at that time my hair had thinned out badly after using Nizoral. This made my hair look like it was miniaturizing throughout and Dr Feller said it wouldn't be a good idea to fill my crown as it looked like I was going to lose a lot more hair and wouldn't have the donor to patch up. Fortunately my hair thickened up and became much more healthy looking after I stopped using Nizoral. My crown thinned out when I was a teenager and isn't much worse now at age 47 than it was at age 19, so Dr Feller thought it would be safe to do my crown with low density, just enough to give coverage. My bridge hair doesn't look like it is going anywhere either, albeit a bit thin. My first HT hairline was a sharpish V shape and I wanted to make the peak more round and widen the front 1/3 area and add a bit more density in one area. I printed some pictures of my immediate post op pictures of my first HT and showed Dr Feller what I wanted by drawing on the picture. Dr Feller then drew the new hairline onto my head and after a couple of minor adjustments it was spot on, exactly what I wanted. Dr Feller then drew in the area he wanted to fill on my crown and got it right first time ??“ exactly how I would have asked to have it. Dr Feller carefully removed the new strip bit-by-bit, clamping and stapling, checking for laxity as he went along and adjusting the width of the strip accordingly. Dr Feller dense packed my hairline at 65+ / cm2, all singles along the hairline and some doubles in behind. I had approximately 1300 grafts into my hairline and the remaining 530 into my crown. All the grafts in my crown were multiple hair follicles so there is a nice number of hairs in there (I don't have the exact breakdown of singles, doubles etc. yet but I'm sure I'll get them from Dr Feller). We started at 7:45 am and finished at around 3pm. I was injected with anesthetic around the donor area before leaving the clinic and given pain killers. I took a pain killer as soon as I got back to the hotel in Great Neck so that it would have time to kick in before the effect of the anesthetic wore off. The recipient area ached a bit and there was a bit of pain around the donor area once the anesthetic wore off. I dozed on and off all evening and at 2:30 am I took my last pain killer. I've been fine since, no pain at all. The staples don't feel bad at all either; which surprised me. The sutures I had after my first HT were very uncomfortable for the whole 9 days they were in. I don't know if the discomfort from the staples is going to kick in later, but at the moment I can hardly notice them and can turn my head in all directions without any feeling of tension. I couldn't really express how grateful I was to Dr Feller and his staff for the excellent work they did as I was a bit dazed from the procedure and injections when I left the clinic. I would like to take the opportunity to thank Dr Feller and his staff here for the excellent work and care ??“ I felt like a VIP the whole day. Thank you! I can no longer view the pictures as something is preventing me from installing the Flash software. I turned my firewall off but it still won't install. This Flash change was a big mistake I'll have to host pictures of my next HT on my own server or photobucket as someone else suggested

If you can't afford a North American HT, I wouldn't bother at all - better to be bald than bald and butchered.

I think I was around 19 when I first got that comment and I continued to get comments like that for the next 20 years. After that the comments stopped. I suppose it's fairly common to be bald at around 40 and people don't feel the need to let you know about it then.

May I ask how old a young man Balody is? He doesn't appear to be a teenager in those photos I'd also be interested to know at what age you lost your hair Balody and over what sort of period of time? I am 47 and started losing hair as a teenager, but the loss was gradual and I was around 40 before I considered myself officially bald. Well I still had hair until I started using Minoxidil and it changed me from thinning to bald I don't use any hair drugs now.

My donor density at the sides is below average and average at the back. My scalp laxity is average at best. The hair around my temples and above my ears is too thin so my strip stopped behind my ears. My strip was only 26?? cm long and 1 cm wide. My scalp couldn't have handled a larger strip. 2700 was all I could get. I still have hair in my bridge area and the 2700 in the front 1/3 blended in with the bridge hair to give me 2/3 coverage. My crown area is very thin and the area that could potentially become bald is too large to even attempt to fill with my donor characteristics. I know that Dr Feller has done several 5000+ in one session if the patient has the donor for it. Now that my scalp has had a year and a half to recover plus scalp stretching exercises, I'm going back for all Dr Feller can get. My next one won't be a megasession either for the same reasons. Your 2381 is the largest I have heard about from the UK...

No, 2500 isn't enough. Look at my pictures to see what 2700 gave me - only the front 1/3 with recessions. 2500 spread over the whole top wouldn't look good at all (in my opinion).

I didn't have any peach fuzz either. The hairs grew out normally as though they had been shaved - the only difference being that they sprouted at different times and didn't grow in evenly like shaved hair would.

I very much doubt that Farjo or any other UK clinic could handle a larger session... 2300 is a mega session for the UK.

Dr Ashcroft can prescribe you Proscar or Propecia in the UK - I wouldn't risk buying it on-line. See www.hair-help.co.uk for his email/phone number.

Zac, you appear to be a NW 7 and I don't see how 2200 grafts balody mentioned for a similar NW would give a satisfactory result. I had 2700 into the front third only and I had a much narrower area to fill. I would recommend a US or Canadian clinic capable of giving you a large session that you would require to achieve a satisfactory result. None of the UK clinics are capable of carrying out megasessions. Of the UK clinics, Dr Rogers appears to be the best but for your amount of hair loss, it would require at least two or three sessions to get the coverage you would need as Dr Rogers doesn't do megasessions. Have a look at my pictures to see what 2700 grafts gets you and you'll see that 2200 on your head would be like a drop in the ocean. I travelled from Europe to New York for my HT and it probably worked out cheaper than having it in the UK even with hotels and flights thanks to the favourable exchange rate - the quality of work was also 10 times better than anything I've seen from the UK. Your only choice would be strip (and that's assuming you have enough donor, you may not even be a good candidate for a HT unless you have excellent donor) due to the large area to be filled - FUE is only for smaller sessions.
