  1. Bump. What do you all think about my one year pics?
  2. I figured the other thread out, but I'd be interested to see what you guys think I will need for my crown. Would you go to one of the 'whorls' or try and fix them both?

  4. I've updated with three pics at the one year mark. I hope it turns out. Let me know what you guys think; good, bad or indifferent.
  5. Yes, your body would reject the FU's. There have been several threads with better responses than mine, but that's the simple answer. You might try the "Find" feature above to see some past threads.
  6. FUE would cost a damn fortune to cover your head, imo. However after you get about 4000+ from strip, you might go back and touch up with a little FUE. Call Feller, as I think he is one of the experts on different hair characteristics from people of varying ethnicity.
  7. I actually take a 5 mg pill, cut it into 1/3 and take it 3x per week. So, it's actually 1.66 mg not 1.25 as I state in my sig. But, I think it's working good to prevent future loss but I'm 42 so I would probably take more if I were younger.
  8. 3500 - 4500 grafts in one session from; Hasson, Wong, Feller, Cooley, Lindsey, etc. All good, in no particular order. I wouldn't let that greasy Armani touch my head. Sorry, but that's it for me. I don't know the other two. 2500 won't be enough for you, but I found that some (most) docs will recommend 2500 as a 'default' amount, even though you might need 4,000. Varying reasons, and none sinister imo.
  9. I will say this; Dr. Cooley is a dermatologist and a graduate of a very prestigous medical school - with honors. I found him to be extremely caring and would trust him without question - just from my time with him in pre, post and during my procedure. A surgeon with a background in head and neck surgery, for example, wouldn't have the same experience with medicines for the skin and hair as a dermatologist - even though he/she might be the equivelant or better at transplants. I'm not saying your guy might not be a better hair transplant surgeon, but Dr. Cooley's knowledge of drugs for hair would be difficult to match, imo.
  10. Probably right about some, but I highly doubt the top clinics do that. You can obviously tell the difference in Wong's 4,000 graft case vs. some other 2,300 graft case. No comparison. More than likely, this doctor doesn't have the staff to perform a larger session or has just made the decision to focus on that. Nothing wrong with that, but he should just say it imo.
  11. Joe, Have you ever seen Hasson or Wong work on someone with a double whirl crown? I've got that, and it was unusual and kind of fun while I had hair but not so much when it's bald. Looks like two bald crowns.
  12. Hey Joe...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bI4XdlErz8M
  13. I can say with a high degree of confidence that I was raised on a much better diet than most people. I am lucky to have a mom who has always been health conscious, and at 72 still works out 3x a week with dumbells, and walks 3 miles a day about 5x per week. My father's favorite hobby has always been gardening - and he always has/had the best one around. Usually we had three or four vegetables per meal. And I was allowed red meat about once every two weeks. Growing up I never took medicines very much at all, sat down nightly to fresh fruits and vegetables and awoke in the morning to oatmeal, fruit and cereal. In fact, until I met my wife and we were married for some time I would still take a half an aspirin if I ever had a headache or some illness. Yet I started balding at 21. My brother in law, the victim of a disfunctional family where his mom left to marry her boss; ate spaghetti for breakfast, candy bars for lunch and bacon for dinner his whole childhood and youth still has a head full of hair. And has only ever had 2 cavities. Go figure.
  14. Once again, thana settles it. This thread is incredible. Personally, I thought Feller stepped up to the plate and for that everyone has apparantly tried to turn it all on him. I wish Cooley would've talked me into about 1,000 more for my crown so I'm not 100% satisfied, but sometimes the patient has some responsibilities as well.
  15. Bill, Anyone from here checked this clinic out? Laser Hair transplantation? And for $3,000?
  16. Check out Dr. Carmen. You won't be able to get much for 5k, so save up for at least 2500 at $9-10k.
  17. Sounds like you're the one who should be giving advice; as you are obviously very knowledgeable about all this. You didn't mention the doctor, but I'd go to one who will take into account your future loss. Believe it or not, when you get in your 40's it won't be all bad to be thinning a little; but you don't want to look weird because you tried at 30 for a full head of hair either. Have you tried Dermmatch or Toppik? If your hair is only thin in certain lights or styles, this might help greatly.
  18. Mr. Jobi is right. As a financial advisor working for a large brokerage firm, I've seen reports where there is more money in savings and money markets than any time in history. A lot of fear is gripping the world, and causing a lot of folks to hoard their money.
  19. Cooley gives patients a couple of solutions to spray hourly; one that lasts about 3 days and the other lasts about 2 weeks. I can't remember what it was called, but it certainly felt like it helped in the healing process. I can say that I had very little flaking or scabing.
  20. He got kicked off 10 months ago or so. Some of his posts were funny but he was an instigator as well. It got sort of old to some people who came on to find out about hairloss solutions; but to others he provided a humorous outlet.
  21. Here's another funny one... The IRS decides to audit Grandpa, and summons him to the IRS office. The IRS auditor was not surprised when Grandpa showed up with his attorney. The auditor said, 'Well, sir, you have an extravagant lifestyle and no full-time employment, Which you explain by saying that you win money gambling. I'm not sure the IRS finds that believable.' I'm a great gambler, and I can prove it,' says Grandpa. 'How about a demonstration?' The auditor thinks for a moment and said, 'Okay. Go ahead.' Grandpa says, 'I'll bet you a thousand dollars that I can bite my own eye.' The auditor thinks a moment and says, 'It's a bet.' Grandpa removes his glass eye and bites it.. The auditor's jaw drops. Grandpa says, 'Now, I'll bet you two thousand dollars that I can bite my other eye.' Now the auditor can tell Grandpa isn't blind, so he takes the bet. Grandpa removes his dentures and bites his good eye. The stunned auditor now realizes he has wagered and lost three grand, with Grandpa's attorney as a witness. He starts to get nervous. 'Want to go double or nothing?' Grandpa asks 'I'll bet you that I can stand on one side of your desk, and pee into that wastebasket on the other side, and never get a drop anywhere in between.' The auditor, twice burned, is cautious now, but he looks carefully and decides there's no way this old guy could possibly manage that stunt, so he agrees again. Grandpa stands beside the desk and unzips his pants, but although he strains mightily, he can't make the stream reach the wastebasket on the other side, so he pretty much urinates all over the auditor's desk. The auditor leaps with joy, realizing that he has just turned a major loss into a break even. But Grandpa's attorney moans and puts his head in his hands. 'Are you okay?' the auditor asks. 'Not really,' says the attorney. 'This morning, when Grandpa told me he'd been summoned for an audit, he bet me twenty-five thousand dollars that he could come in here and piss all over your desk and that you'd be happy about it.'
