  1. Just recently started looking into hair pieces, and I'm still kind of clueless. I'm looking to temporarily buy a piece until I save up money for a hair transplant or a better solution comes along. The area that I want to over is about 3 inches back and 4 inches across in the front third of my scalp. Is it possible to buy a piece that small? Also I'm black, and it seems that most of the websites seem to carter more towards white people. Thanks for any advice
  2. Histogen is suppose to be released in Asia round 2013 and 2014 or 2015 in North America. It might not be a "cure", but it would definitely be better than any treatment we have out today. The company has already provided data that it does grow hair, but I'm not sure if the new hair will be dht resistant.
  3. I wanted to know if anyone has any experience or opinions of this doctor? I'm thinking I having a 2000 graft strip procedure done by him? From speaking with him and reading his website, he seems very knowledgeable.
  4. I've been on generic dutasteride from UnitedPharmacies.com for a year and half and no problems.
  5. I know, the price seems crazy for an injections of acell+prp. there are two sets of pictures on dr.hitzig's website. the pictures show decent results, but nothing amazing. the other is thing neither one of the patients is on any treatment like minox or fin, and it seemed like there hair loss was stopped with very slight regrowth.
  6. dakota how was the acell applied to your scar and did you have any plucked hairs placed into the scar?
  7. any new info on this subject. I started a weight lifting regimen this week, and wanted to know if I should increase the amount of dutasteride that I take. I currently take 2-3 (.5mg caps) per week. I know weight lifting has no effect on people that don't have mpb, but I feel it has some negative effects on people with mpb like me. It just seems that a few weeks after starting a lifting program my hair seems to shed faster and my scalp seems tighter. This has happened to me twice in the past. This could just be my mind playing with me, but I'm not sure.
  8. There are quite a few people on baldtruthtalk using the product. The product just became available in early January, so the feedback is limited.
  9. what is the typical width and length for a 2000 graft donor strip? This is for a person with average donor density.
  10. I saw this on another site. It looks promising Excerpt from the latest filing for Replicel (TrichoScience) at the SEC » » » » "We received written approval to conduct the study on November 11, 2010 » » from the Georgian National Bioethics Committee. Biopsies from the 20 » » patients participating in the TS001-2009 study will be collected during » the » » month of December 2010 and sent to Innovacell Biotechnologie AG in » » Innsbruck, Austria for processing. The study product will be ready for » » injection into study participants about mid-February 2011. At this time, » » participants will not only receive an injection of their replicated » cells » » on one part of the scalp, but will also receive an injection of placebo » » (cellular transport medium without replicated cells) on the other side » of » » the scalp. This will allow for better assessment of the safety and » efficacy » » of our technology. » » » » "We anticipate collecting data from the 6 month time point in early » » September 2011. This data will allow for analysis of our primary » endpoint » » of the study in the form of an interim analysis. Patients will continue » » participating in the study through early 2013 when the 24-month visits » will » » be conducted. » » » » The first patient was enrolled into the trial on December 7, 2010. The » » remaining patients will be enrolled at the end of January 2011, » following » » the Georgian orthodox holiday season. » » » » Regulatory approval for our technology is subject to different » regulations » » for different jurisdictions. Initiating human trials requires different » » depths and volume of pre-clinical research prior to approval for » » first-in-man trials. However, common to virtually all jurisdictions, is » to » » demonstrate in humans the safety of the technology. Our first trial has » » been developed to prove safety first and efficacy second. » » » » Commercial approval will require that safety has been demonstrated. » » However, commercial sales will only require that we demonstrate efficacy » to » » the public. We will not be required to get approval from private or » » government insurance plans with respect to pharmacoeconomics, as the » » product purchase decision is not medical, but rather personal." » » » This company has a LONG road ahead of it.. and as Iron Man correctly » stated/quoted, better solutions may emerge (or already have emerged) than » this... but it's always great to have other approaches to fall back on in » case things don't pan out as expected. So this definitely is good news, » I've always liked the TrichoScience approach.. let's hope it brings some » good results sooner rather than later
  11. The pics I saw in his office looked pretty good.
  12. Wanted to know if anyone had any info about Dr. Franklin Weinstein? He is located in Maryland. I had a consultation with him and I liked his work. Also there was a member on here than had transplant performed by the doctor, but he hasn't logged in since 2009. Thanks
  13. I agree. I was on fin for 2 years with modest results. Now that I've swicthed to dutasteride, the results are great. I only take it 3 times a week, and I have no side effects.
  14. Got this from another website: 'I had a thought. It has been concluded by Follica and Histogen when WNT proteins are introduced to wounded skin, an embroyonic healing state takes place and thus new hair follices are produced. Would it be possible to add these Wnt proteins to the Acell/PRP injections and then introduce this to the scalp? I think most of what you would need would be in these 3 things. PRP-adults stem cells-growth factors Acell-Helps adult stem cell return to an embryonic state during healing,Contains a host of proteins, growth factors, collagen ect. WNT Proteins-What is needed to induce the formation of new hair follices. Histogen is basing there experiment of Wnt Proteins and has show great results in the early trials Follicas whole experiment is based on wnt proteins-They have tried in on bald mice and all have grown new hairs So what im sayign is why not try this with humans with prodcuts that are both FDA apporved and with WNT which is a natural protein in the body.'
